Loved this bnpl app

Loved this bnpl app. Have used it for years. Loved the 6 week payment option as it helped when budgeting especially in today's market. Will miss it.

Well I could not sign into the app to load a new card, so I left a message with the help bot & a day later( as it was the weekend) somebody from laybuy got in touch with me & solved the problem instantly! I was so relieved as I thought I would be charged extra for late fees 🙃 so glad that problem is fixed & just in time for my payments to go out 😅 thanks so much....

Greatful

Loved using layby and I'm really sad that it is closing down. Was my first BNPL and it ain't my last (afterpay) lol. You have been good and hope they make another that has a similar paying system especially payments that are 6+ weeks to pay.

Not surprised this company has gone…

Not surprised this company has gone into administration. Customer service was non existent. I see the company owner is blaming the company's collapse on the economy, payment defaults and fraud. Wont take responsibility for the appalling way customers were treated. A recipe for disaster from the beginning.

Absolute shocking company to deal with.

Absolute shocking company to deal with.
No security measures in place to stop fraudulent acts and then try to issue credit agencies onto you even if you have never opened an account with them let alone use their services.
Be very aware, poor complaints procedure and no after care service
Even after I proved that I was never a customer and credit agency agreed that there was never a case to be answered, they still refuse to acknowledge my emails to confirm case closed
DO NOT USE - EVER

Fraud

Fraud. I have never had a laybuy account. Got a letter from mycrs saying I owe over £200. Someone has clearly used my details to make an account. Can't see anywhere on the website to report this issue apart from a chat box that doesn't seem to work. Clearly the security measures to create an account were not adequate.

Closed down …

It’s not been announced as of yet but yesterday they were placed into administration, they should have kept customers updated on this. Appalling as per usual from Laybuy, this was only a matter of time.

Buy-now-pay-later service Laybuy has…

Buy-now-pay-later service Laybuy has been placed into receivership.

Founder Gary Rohloff said the economic downturn had been more drawn-out than expected and had hurt the business.

"I am absolutely heartbroken at today's decision to request the appointment of receivers to the Laybuy Group," he said in a statement.

"This is a devastating time for the Laybuy team, and I will be doing everything I can to support them as we go through this process."

He said the business had been working "incredibly" hard to execute a plan to achieve profitability after years of rapid growth.

"While we have been making good progress over the last two years, the economic downturn has been longer than we expected, and this had had a significant impact on the retail sector in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

"As a result, we have see reduced consumer spending, higher credit losses, and increased fraudulent activity. This alongside increased financing costs created a perfect storm that was difficult to recover from."

He said the business had tried "everything" including an attempted sale, but this had fallen over at the last hurdle.

"This left the board with no option but to make the gut-wrenching decision to voluntarily request the appointment of Deloitte as receivers.

This is a difficult time for our team and I am devastated."

He said his priority was to work with receivers to ensure the best outcome for staff, creditors, suppliers and merchants

Customers could continue to make their payments as normal.

The company listed in the Australian stock exchange in 2020 and shares traded as high as A$2.30.

But they had dropped to A0.6c before a decision was made last year to delist.

Where are my payments?

I would like to know where my payments are and when I will receive them. I have a screenshot because they tend to 'disappear'. Some are 2 weeks late so I have stopped my customers purchasing using Laybuy. So, Laybuy, when are we going to get paid?

Used to be really really good

Used to be really really good. It’s always been abit challenging when you need to contact customer service but overall a really good service. Then all the high street shops started going (Amazon M&S etc) then other went to eBay and etsy being 2 of the biggest. I wasn’t really using my laybuy account anywhere near like I was but when the update happened (app change) oh my gosh it was so so bad. Hard to find shops etc. I did contact customer services who said it was a system issue and they were looking to get these shops back up and running asap. That was about a month ago and now not working at all. I was looking for something one day and lots of shops coming up that weren’t uk stores American and even Aussie no way of only
Selecting UK stores. It’s just awful now sites been down for 3 days and nothing told to customers. Really poor service and can see by reviews it’s not just me feeling a certain way. Cmon laybuy tell us what’s going on.

LayBuy have received stopped any customers placing any orders ‘they say due to maintenance update’ clearly there is an issue with LayBuy!
Which is a shame as when it’s good, it’s runs smoothly!

I loved Laybuy and have probably spent thousands over the years

I loved Laybuy and have probably spent thousands through it. I made about 4 purchases a month and have since September 2021. I was so disappointed in Feb/March when the app exclusives dissapeared but I contacted them and received a prompt response and have been frequently looking here for a different answer. And now the site has “been under maintenance” for nearly a week so cannot even make purchases on the limited stores we have left to us. I am really starting to worry that the articles online in reference to this matter are correct and we are in fact losing access to Laybuy. I have a holiday coming up soon and for the last 3 summers have used Laybuy to pay for purchases in 6 weeks so as to manage my finances to buy all the essentials which are often expensive. I am very loyal to Laybuy and don’t want to have to turn my attention to other BNPL apps, but I am starting to sadly feel that Laybuy doesn’t value me as much as a customer or anyone as much I or other people value them as a consumer. It has been 3 months since the app exclusives were taken and 1 week since the site was under maintenance - and it’s time we have some kind of explanation and legitimate time line.
