It wasn't that great

It wasn't that great. I did a degree in criminology and social policy. Done f all with it. Some subjects interesting, most boring. Library is too long a walk to carry books back and uninspiring. The only teacher I really liked was Louise Grove. A lot of the lecturers were quite bizarre and snobby. I could hardly catch my dissertation lecturer, Mike Stephens. Because he was retiring I dont think he cared. And jack demaine was really demeaning when he compared another student to Rita out of educating Rita. Not nice.

Enforced leave of absence

My time at Loughborough University has been deeply challenging, and I feel compelled to share my experience. I was placed on an enforced leave of absence due to 'incidents' stemming from mental health/suspected neurodiverse reasons, which I feel was handled poorly and with little regard for my individual situation. Since being placed on leave, I have repeatedly expressed my desire to return, but my pleas have been ignored. The lack of communication and empathy from the university has been incredibly disheartening. Instead of receiving guidance, I’ve been left in limbo with no assistance, which has only compounded the mental health struggles I was already facing. While Loughborough has a strong academic reputation, I havent felt supported as a student with mental health challenges. I believe the university needs to improve its handling of students in distress, especially when it comes to clear communication and offering real opportunities for students to continue their students.

Very poor

Very poor, despite phoning and complaining about the lack of feedback from lecturers and the delay with his ucas application. The college still failed him. Careers advice given after ucas deadline. By the time the tutor submitted his application his chosen course was full. Very disappointing would not recommend

Playschool or University?

Premises are ok but the rest is appalling. My son was accepted then when we follow instructions for the follow-up nobody ever gets back to you. Call in to see them and you're left waiting for 45mins only to be told that the relevant person isn't In work today.
Come on. Get it together, you're a university not a playschool.

Even 1 star is too much

Even 1 star is too much. They gave student acceptance letter for PhD. When the student come to start the education, they don’t offer any supervisory team although they should offer someone on acceptance letter after setting videocall. Moreover, they think that the responsibilities don’t belong to the university. I should warn you that student waste their time and money by going this university. Stay away from that university

Incompetent philanthropy department

My husband and I donated almost £10,000 to the philanthropy department to help support a student. The terms and expectations of the donation were not upheld; a complaint to the Vice-Chancellor achieved nothing (not even an apology); and recently we have been told that financial details have been hacked. I expected a lot more from my alma-mater and have taken my philanthropy elsewhere.
