Dishonest
We do not contract with Legacy directly but they service our business complex.
Our truck was parked at the property and was observed prior to Legacy’s mowing to be in good condition. Shortly after they departed, we noticed that one of the windows on our camper shell (topping our truck bed) was broken. The damage pattern is consistent with a high-velocity impact (such as a rock thrown by a mower or weedeater).
When we messaged Legacy about the incident (albeit a week or two later as it took time to correspond with our landlord for their contact information), we explained the situation and provided photographic evidence, which is time-stamped.
Legacy stated they would not accept liability unless we had the incident on video. This is understandable, but we explained that our building’s cameras do not point to where the truck was parked and so video evidence could not be provided.
We also explained the following:
-the camper shell window sits very high and is unable to be damaged by a car door or typical collision
-no children play in the parking lot, and tenants are not known roughhouse, throw things, etc
-the camper shell access was unlocked and open (evidenced by the photo), which would rule out a thief attempting to break the window for access
-the damage pattern is consistent with a high-velocity impact, occurred during the time that their mowers were there, and could not have been caused by any other activity occurring in the parking lot at that time
Legacy did not acknowledge any of this and stated that, since we could not provide video evidence, they would not be honoring the claim.
I don’t often leave reviews but I feel the need to warn others. If you don’t have cameras covering every square inch of your property and don’t catch them in the act of damaging your property, their employees will not own up to it and the company will not make it right.
We used to own a landscaping business and understand how common damage from thrown objects can be. They do a fine job mowing and we are not upset that the damage occurred, but we are disappointed at Legacy’s lack of accountability and integrity.
This camper shell is owned by a prison ministry and funds that would have gone to inmate outreach will now have to be redirected to fix Legacy’s damage.
I will not use them and do not recommend anyone else does, unless you have complete camera coverage of your entire property. You can’t trust them.
