Lying customer service

We booked to stay at the Copthorne Hotel in Slough. I thought that I saw a fb post that it's swimming pool was closed. After 30 minutes online, mainly on hold to legoland holidays, I was assured several times that they had sent me an email with this information. They had not! Eventually we realised that the post I saw was from an earlier year which meant they had blatently lied to me earlier in the conversation but made no apology. Then, on arrival at the hotel, we had to pay an extra £12.50 if we wanted to use the pool anyway, plus £10 for parking. Total rip off!

Partner hotels are not what they seem!

Unless you’re pushing the boat out and staying at a legoland hotel (which we’ve done previously) then be extremely weary about booking a 3rd party hotel via legoland holidays. We used the legoland holidays to book park tickets and a hotel - we chose the “4 star Mercure Hotel” which was a short drive from legoland. However it was nowhere near 4 star. It was a shocking standard and the response from Legoland Holidays has been very disappointing. I emailed on 18th April, have chased on multiple times but as if 30th August - 4 months later, I’ve still had no response other than they’ll look into it. I’ve sent photos to evidence the poor standard of the rooms and hygiene but they're not interested.
The core issue is they’re miss-selling hotels to unsuspecting guests. Market them at their real rating - don’t go selling a hotel as 4 star with that price tag when it’s blatantly a 2 star.
