Order the shipping box

Ordering the shipping box was the way to go. Last time, I sent them in on my own, and they got lost in the shuffle. It turned out okay in the end, and I got my frames back with new lenses in them. This ordering process was seamless and painless from start to finish! Thank you so much!

I trusted lensabl with 20 year old frames

I trusted lensabl with frames that I've owned for 20 years!!! They were able to upgrade them to transitions. The process was fast and easy. I really needed them for work and driving. The lenses have improved my quality of life! I really appreciate it.

Poor Quality Lenses and Unhelpful Support!


I purchased lenses from this company in January. For context, every pair of prescription glasses I've ever owned has lasted the full two years that the prescription is valid. I already had a pair of discontinued frames that I love, so I decided to save money by just replacing the lenses and gave Lensabl.com a try. This turned out to be a big mistake. Their lenses must be made from the cheapest materials because after only six months, they are literally warping and becoming blurry. I work in an office, so these lenses are primarily used for computer work. This issue is a first for me and raises serious concerns about the quality of the prescription lenses this company uses. Additionally, they charge prices comparable to GlassesUSA but offer inferior lenses. When I contacted support, I was offered a 25% discount on my next lenses—a joke, as if I'd spend another cent with this company. Dubious company; save your money and stay away!

I ordered sunglasses and I received…

I ordered sunglasses and I received regular glasses, I uploaded my prescription and specifically said sunglasses prescription, I would of think if when I placed my order if my order was not clear I would of received a phone call to clarify if I wanted sunglasses or regular glasses, my email and phone number was included on the order, I had to submit a new order and basically I’m paying $389 for a pair of sunglasses. When I called to ask to change the regular glasses into sunglasses they said nothing can be done and I had to put a new order.

Absolutely love the glasses

Absolutely love the glasses, clear vision for driving and at the beach!!! However communication horrible and frustrating wish I was able to talk to just one person not text as so much confusion with my prescription. Worth the wait 😎

The process overall was great

The process overall was great. but the notifications didn't seem to be very well coordinated with reality. i.e. I received email notice that you received the frames on the same day you were actually shipping out the finished product.

And doing this review was more cumbersome than I expected. it was implied to be a quick and easy process and ended up having to sign up for something and MFA codes and surely I'm on a mailing list now too, even though I didn't opt in.

Maui Jim Sunglasses redo

I had an older pair of Maui Jim Sunglasses that the prescription was getting older. I really like the frames so I shipping them to Lensabl for new lenses. I just got them today and the progressive lenses and auto tint are very goid. I have another newer pair of glasses and these are as good or better than them. Im very impressed with the lenses and the price. Almost 200 dollars less than Lenscrafters !! I very satisfied with Lensabl !!

WHERE'S THE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Here's the text from my last email to Lensabl, to which they never responded: "What you are saying to me (the customer) that I should have first looked at every FAQ to find out if Lensabl.com can make my lenses smaller, and then because I didn't do that you made my lenses much larger than in my order instructions, instead of emailing me (the customer) that you cannot make the lenses smaller and are refunding my payment ($227.09) minus shipping charges. Do I have this right? Please advise.

In response to Lensabl's response, if you expect your customers to read your convoluted FAQ, which are numerous, why don't you say so instead of sending a terrible product?

At the time of placing your order, on the last step, we provide an opportunity for you to leave an optional note, specifically intended for information about the frame you are sending in. This note box has a clear message next to it stating, "For any special requests, please reach out to customer support so that we may modify your order."

Upon further review, we found no emails, phone calls, or live chat communications from you requesting to make the lens size smaller than the demos you sent in prior to your order being processed. If you had contacted us with this request beforehand, we would have informed you that, unfortunately, we do not customize the lens size or shape of rimless/semi-rimless frames unless you send us demo lenses with your preferred size and shape.

Since the lenses were made correctly per the order details to match the frame you sent in, we cannot offer a refund or return on this order, as all lenses are final sale.

We understand your frustration, and we strive to provide clear communication and support to our customers.

Inconsistent

I gave it a 3 but that is a 1, a 3 and a 5.

5 order: everything went perfectly and I got my glasses back quickly and just right.

3 order: they cut the first lenses for a pair of Bose Sunglasses wrong - they didn't fit the glasses (they made the lenses to fit a pair of Bose Tenors but didn't have my frames) so they had to redo them. Second try were fine.

1 order: still in the middle of this mess. Sent them some expensive Oliver Peoples sunglasses for progressive prescription. First lenses failed QC. Second, they say did but the delay meant that they wouldn't get to us before we went to our house in Italy for the summer. They identified a way to ship them to me in Italy but that was a week ago and they still haven't shipped. Every excuse under the sun but it is driving me crazy (the glasses are for my wife) and drove me to post this review.

Prepare to be in the dark about your order...

This was our first time using Lensabl, and our experience wasn't the best. It took 3 attempts for the lab to get the lenses right.

The first problem was a quality control issue, so we never saw the final outcome. On the second attempt, looking through the lenses gave my dad a headache, and one of the lenses wasn't mounted flush to the frame, and looked like it could pop out. The third attempt came out perfect.

Julie, in Customer Service, was fabulous. Helpful, efficient and did her best to make sure we were happy. The problem was, we shouldn't have needed Julie.

Lensabl has an order tracking system on their website, which supposedly tells you what stage your glasses are in as it goes through the process. Unfortunately, they seem to stop using it if an order goes through the process more than once. So not only did it take a really long time to receive the correct order, we had to keep contacting Lensabl ourselves for updates, hence our new best friend, Julie.

I like the idea of Lensabl, but they still have a few kinks to work out with their processing and communication departments. To their credit, I will say they were one of the few companies out there that will make prescription sunglasses for a curved sports frame that we purchased from another store. Apparently that's a rare thing these days, so kudos to Lensabl for offering that convenience.

This fiasco was the absolute worst…beyond belief!

This fiasco was the absolute worst customer service in my lengthy life. Not exaggerating here, and am particular but not an excessively demanding complainer and almost never negatively review. I try to understand service problems, but this was the Nightmare from Hell. Read good reviews in NYT article and sent my nearly-new expensive European frames. Reviewers said 'they shipped my glasses in less than a week!' Well it took them to ship my simple average order, which I make all the time with Eyebuydirect....TWO MONTHS of 30+ messages (they DO NOT accept calls). In nearly a month they made the scrip WRONG! Made the scrip BACKWARDS! You would think they would expedite the redo, but it took another month of NON-RESPONSES from their incompetents. I have all the emails showing their gross incompetence! This is beyond any experience of inexcusable lack of customer service. Even the redo was not satisfactory as they FAILED to put the Transition coating I PAID extra for! I gave up, as their incompetence was so untrustworthy that I had already suffered two months with an old pair of lenses that I kept the incomplete glasses
