Peter was so easy to communicate with from the first contact right up to paying back the deposit. I reached out with an enquiry only a few days before needing the equipment and he sorted us out with everything we needed. Pick and drop off was simple and he got back to any questions very quickly.

I was very pleased with my hire. Easy to arrange and the equipment arrived with lots of time to spare. Would definitely use this company again.

I was be concerned over other reviews read but I received my deposit 2 days after dropping the equipment back.

The director of Lens Lab, Mr Peter Levenspiel, I discovered has a history of unprofessional conduct. There have been 2 orders to "strike off" his limited company from the UK register and there is a 3rd imminent, for late document filings.
I rented a lens in good faith from LensLab Ltd and was asked to pay a deposit and provide ID evidence, with which I duly complied. The pick-up, drop-off and rental of equipment was simple and uneventful and I was even provided 2 x batteries free of charge. But when no deposit was returned I wrote to Mr Levenspiel, the company director and my point of contact. I asked whether there was any reason for the delay in return of funds. I have followed up with numerous phone call attempts and emails to request my deposit and/or be made aware of any reason for the continued delays to release my funds. I have literally heard nothing at all - I am being ignored entirely. Sadly I found evidence on social media of the same occurrence with another client previously. So this 'scam' appears to be common. Mr Levenspiel is "as nice as pie, and generous to a fault", in order to secure the business and deposit, with no intention of returning the deposit at the conclusion of the contract.
I suspect, on reviewing LensLab Ltd company filings (publicly available), Mr Levenspiel may be trading insolvent and I will be making notices to the appropriate bodies, as his actions as a UK company director could be deemed fraudulent.
There are many, well established camera equipment rental companies in the UK, so I urge anyone reading this to simply avoid Lenslab and engage with another. I have an account with an alternate leading London based firm, but opted to use lenslab purely as I was attending a friend's wedding in the area. Please learn from my error in renting from this unprofessional operator.

Very reliable and straightforward company to deal with. I hired an 80-400 f4/5.6 Zoom Nikkor for 12 days. Competitive pricing, logical booking system and reasonable and understandable terms.
The lens arrived in perfect condition and reusable packaged for return. I would have absolutely no hesitation in hiring photographic equipment from Lens Lab again.

I have used Lens Lab twice this year, the cameras arrived in good time, well packed and in perfect working order. What's more, the prices are very reasonable and very competitive. All in all, excellent

I am pleased with service provided by Lens Lab. I hired a nikon d800 and nikon d850 with some lenses. I received the items well in advance of the hire date which gave me time to adjust the settings and carry out some test shots.

I am also glad they are much more affordable than their competitors.

I am an amateur wildlife photographer and have used LensLab twice (Canon 100-400 Mk II and Canon 5D Mk IV).

On both occasions the service was faultless and equipment excellent.

Lenslab are ideal for those wanting to test equipment properly before purchasing. They eliminate buyers remorse and their hire rates are very reasonable

I placed a hire with this company a couple of months ago. Payed a deposit and was informed when the delivery be and what courier would be delivering it.

I asked Peter for a backpack and a UV filter on the lens and he was happy to provide for no extra charge. There was a problem with the lens but he quickly informed me and gave me my options.

Received the kit and it was in great condition. Had a few cool goodies in the box such as a sample of the Clash of the Cameras. Used the camera for what was needed and it worked without issues. Only problem which annoyed me is that the old settings of the previous photographer was still on there; That means that the previous photographer's name was in the EXIF data of every image.

I had planned to keep the EXIF data so I spent a while in order to change the name to mine.

Returned the equipment and got my deposit back.

Overall, LensLab is a great hire company. Just some small issues and then would be the best.

I have used Lens Lab twice to hire the sigma 150-600 lens for the Duxford Air shows, both times the lens has turned up early the equipment was in an excellent condition. I will definitely be hiring from them again.

I used lens lab recently for the first time and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and professional equipment hire company.

Working in the Shetland Islands meant that the equipment had to travel overseas which often takes slightly longer than an average delivery. Lenslab ensured that the equipment was posted in plenty of time and it arrived 3-4 days before my hire begun.

Peter was very helpful with any queries I had whether it was to do with the equipment itself, the delivery or the payment process.
