Unauthorized charges!

Lessons.com charged me for two direct leads without me accepting the lead. They don't have a phone # and there was no response to my email. I'm having my credit card company deal with them.

I was contacting just one instructor…

I was contacting just one instructor and put the NO checkmark on the other instructors some I used in the past and didn't want them to know I was looking for another instructor. But your site put my name out to people I didn't want to without my permission and now I'm getting all these unwanted E-Mails and from instructors I didn't want to know. You don't put somones information out like that without my permission !!! Not Happy about this !

Auto Charge for Alleged "Exact Match" Lead I Did Not Authorize, Company Fails to Respond to Support Message

I am a Flamenco Guitar Instructor. I created a Teacher Profile on Lessons.com during early 2024. Since then I have gotten Leads which are not a match, nor are they nearby. Since Lessons.com wants to charge a fee of $20+ to Message the potential student, I have "Passed" on all Leads which seem to not be focused on what I teach. Today, 9/15/24, I received a notice from my Credit Card on file with Lessons.com that I was Auto Charged for an "Exact Match" Lead. In fact, I was charged before the description of the Lead came in on my phone and before receiving an email regarding this Lead. 1) I found that my Password did not work, and had to create a new Password. 2) When I got into Lessons.com, the Lead was not an "Exact Match," it was for Jazz and Classical. Flamenco is NOT Classical style. 3) I found that an Auto Pay Option for "Exact Match" Leads was switched On. I did NOT do this. I have Messaged Lessons.com, both through their Support Contact and through FaceBook Messenger, about this incident, and received no Response. They allege they will respond in a few hours. Additionally, info Posted in one of their Responses to a client complaining in August 2024, that there is no way to Remove a Credit Card or Delete an Account references a Button or Box on Settings:Account which DOES NOT exist. In their Privacy Agreement, there is a vague reference under Accessing and Updating Your Information that you can "log in to the site where you are registered and navigate to your account." - No more! If you look at the Reviews on this BBB Site you will sell the Rating is 2 Stars. If you check Reddit you will find nothing but accusations of Lessons.com as a "scam." If you check Trust Pilot you will see 82% Ratings of only 1 Star, and more accusations and complaints. I am going to Block the Charge with my bank's credit card. The only Option that exists on Lessons.com to delete the Account is to "Hide Business Temporarily."

This is a scam to charge your bank…

This is a scam to charge your bank account. The leads are clearly phony. I got a large check for an about 15 phony leads in. I was then quickly solicited to sign up for a more expensive package. I was suspicious. As I thought, the check bounced within a few days. When I complained to their no-contact support, they knew who it was who wrote the check. And I didn’t tell them. = one and the same. There is no way to cancel the account on their portal either and they have denied my request to cancel. I had to cancel my credit card to stop them from further charges. They also behave like narcissists. Like they are on a different planet. Don’t use this place. It is clearly a scam operation. Too bad, the idea could have been good if they were legitimate.

Lessons.com is indeed a scam

Lessons.com is indeed a scam. I have had a few issues partnering with this company.
The latest issue which led me to deactivate my account - for a second and final time - is the fact that Manuel, my CSR lied continuously regarding my refund. I requested a refund for a particular lead that lived out of state who did not want online lessons. The prospect sent me a text confirming she was not interested in lessons - per Manuel's instructions, I sent him a screenshot for proof. He then asked me to send a screenshot showing her number.
I sent him EXACTLY what he requested a total of 6 times - 6 different emails over 2 weeks. Well guess what...I still haven't received my refund 2 months later! Manuel acted as if he had not received any of my attachments of the screenshot. He repeatedly responded with statements such as, "Did you get my email?" or "I haven't received the screenshot!" or some other foolishness. After sending the same email 6 times to the email address he specified...I asked Manuel to permanently delete my account. It was becoming clear as crystal that Manuel was playing games. To what end? Not sure. Well somehow he received my account deletion request (go figure!) and he responded with - "We have completed your request, your account has been deactivated. Please consider us in the future. Simply reactivate your account to use our services. Have a nice day!
HUH?! What in the gaslighting bafoonery is going on here?!! I've been through too much and have come to far in my healing to be abused by ANY entity let alone a dead entity (corporation)
Uh ..No thank you! I'll just consider this a $23 lesson for the future.
Instructors, please know that you will be paying $23 per lead. Lessons.com does not vet any of these leads. The sad part is that prospective clients are literally pushed to reach out to 5 or more teachers - even if the prospect is 100% sure of the instructor they want. They have a good thing going...5 or more teachers all paying a non refundable $23 per prospective student who is already overwhelmed with so many choices! $23 bucks per lead for clients that will most likely go for the most economical instructor versus the most qualified and from my experience the majority of the leads are not serious, long term clients.
Serious teachers looking for serious clients....save your energy, your money, your time and mental health by AVOIDING LESSONS.COM like the plague!!!! They are a warm mess. Zero integrity, zero care for their teachers nor prospects.

If I could rate this as less than a one, I would, this is a total scam! A supposed Coach texted me and said I needed to pay him $500 for private lessons. No way affiliated with this place I called today and they had no idea who this person was. Please do not buy into this. Do not send anyone money. It is the biggest scam ever.

Stealing money

Lessons.com seems surprisingly similar in many ways to Thumbtack.com, which leads me to believe they are one and the same. I had one solid connection through lessons.com and being I receive leads so infrequently I tend to forget till a lead comes through. So infrequent that leads that have come in lately go like this...I look at the request and attempt to respond but lessons.com stops me (after they debit my account from a running balance) saying I must add a current credit card. So lessons.com won't give me access to the possible client info even though they have my money unless I allow them continued access to more of my money. Not allowing me to connect with a possible client after I paid appears illegal. They have my money. They deduct money from my balance and don't allow me access. I'm writing the state attorney's general office of consumer affairs and the Better Business Bureau and will let them decide how money I already spent is handled. I'm on a mission now to keep this company accountable, which seems far off track.

Should be SHUT DOWN

Should be SHUT DOWN
TOTALLY GENERIC site that just has you complete an otherwise 3rd grade looking "profile" with a FAQ section that looks like it was created by AI, with bad filtering. Sending me "leads" as far away as 300 miles, I'm obviously not going to accept. NO actual support or email contact anywhere. Total scam, buyer beware

Lessons.com is a scam

Lessons.com is a scam. They send you "leads" of "customers" who never respond. They charge $20-25 per lead and will not refund you if the "customer" doesn't answer you. We had 16 leads. Only 1 responded last year. We are the largest music school in our county. Legitimate students always sign up with us when they see our rates and excellent teachers. Their system will not allow you to cancel your credit card, so you rack up charges and have to dispute it with your credit card company, otherwise they just charge and charge and charge. It's just a monay-making scheme!

-5 Stars

I’d give -5 stars if I could. The business model isn’t really good. Customer service is not good as well. Buying and Using credits to send quotes to clients, who can then in turn decide to choose another person in your profession…wouldn’t it be more feasible to instead have a credit be used when someone selects you as a teacher…? And when I asked for my money back of course they said no. Be careful using this company…I wouldn’t recommend.

Great

I’ve been really impressed with lessons.com and highly recommend it to any business owner who is looking for qualified leads. My company has tried a number of different marketing sources and lessons.com is definitely the most cost-effective. We’re able to get leads for a fraction of the price of Google or Facebook ads. If you are on the fence about using lessons.com, definitely give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Horrible communication

The days leading to today was unprofessional due to the lack of communication received by the coach. My son had an appointment this morning at 9:30am at a nearby park in Arlington. We arrived at 9:20am, and text Jayson Dimanche that we had arrived. No response. We waited until 9:50 with no communication back from this coach. I would not recommend this coach.

Sent spam to our business - a tennis club. Never signed up for any services with Lessons.com, never even heard of them. Suddenly started emailing us supposed lesson requests. Perhaps the requests are real, but we do not want your marketing and never signed up for anything.

A complete scam

A complete scam. Don't fall for it. I give piano lessons. I signed up. Suddenly they are contacting with all kinds of students in my area looking for piano lessons. 4 or 5 new students every day. But the catch is, you dont get any information until you pay lessons.com $20 per student contact. I’ve been teaching in this area for 30 years. How is it possible that suddenly there are some many people looking for piano lessons

Shady

Shady. Contacted four volleyball instructors for easy money private coaching sessions. 3 declined. The fourth person just recently posted their profile for hire so I asked for their profile link to the website they had listed as a "current" coach. They replied I moved out of state. Shady.
Smells like fake profiles. Maybe bots to snake your money. Check out Better Business Bureau (BBB) website for more negative reviews for this site. You've been warned.
