I had an awful experience at the lights…

I had an awful experience at the lights Cinema and was embarrassed and dumbfounded by the whole experience. I took my family to see The Batman which was a 15 only to be challenged about my sons age who is 16 and quite clearly looking his age.
We were challenged by the manager but because we couldn't present a Passport with photo id (Who takes that on a family night out) WE WERE REFUSED ENTRY. I appreciate that the manager reserves the right to question my son's age so I can't question the manager's pointlessly over strict compliance to the rules but I would certainly question his poor judgement of the situation and lack of common sense.
I genuinely couldn't believe what was happening and was embarrassed for him as were others around us, needless to say I won't be going to the lights again.

Sittingbourne Cinema.....bad management

We are 2 adults with my 16 yr old son (who does look his age) we had tickets to watch The Batman (Cert 15), when we arrived we were told he needed id!!!! all he had on him was a bus pass that they wouldn't accept and told us only a passport would do!!! SO THEY ACTUALLY REFUSED US ENTRY which I couldn't believe - the manager handled it really badly and dramatically said 'all the staff could be out of jobs and the cinema could close if he didn't see his id!' there was nothing on the website to say id was necessary and also nothing on entry to the cinema either. So the warning to all youngsters 15 and over, please take a passport with you to this cinema or you could be going home disappointed! I will not be returning....ever!

Booked a week in advance to see uncharted on Saturday 5 March 22 at 10.05 at Cambridge light cinema, I arrived early but for dome reason come 10.30am they hadn't even started the ads, the screen hadn't even turned on. I am heavily disappointed that we were put in screen 3 then forgotten about. I'm almost half tempted to cancel my infinity membership due to poor level of customer service

Unfairly treated due to age.

I was asked to switch my phone off by a Bradford Light employee called Ayesha today. I was not making or receiving calls, just checking for messages. 4 young kids were sat on my row and were swapping selfies and on social media.
I'm 68 and she clearly saw me as a soft touch as she completely ignored the youngsters on my row. I'm a regular at the cinema and have never had any trouble whatsoever before. This has left a sour taste in my mouth and I'm taking it further.

Poor Sanitation

Took my children bowling in the afternoon at The Light and was disgusted at how dirty the bowling area was. Every table was empty yet full of rubbish which no one came to clear. The bowling alley my children played in had food and drinks left from previous players and no one came to clear any of it the whole 40mins we were there. In a Covid world I saw no evidence of any cleaning or sanitising of surfaces. It looked there was only one poor man working the entire bowling and arcade area and to be fair he was rushed off his feet trying to serve drinks. He was pleasant and professional but clearly over worked and under staffed. Considering how much the centre is charging fur 40mins bowling you would hope there would be enough staff to actually keep it clean. Very disappointing!

Sittingbourne……as yet not visited the cinema. However, took my family to the bowling alley and it will be the very last time. I was disgusted with the overall cleanliness of the toilets (both male & female) you couldn’t use them as there was excrement all over the seats and floor and the bowling area was dirty and sticky. I had to speak to the doorman to get staff to address the toilets. Plus £2.65 for a small bottle of Coke…..ridiculous

I don’t often write reviews but I had to thank the staff.
After a mistake was made, myself and my partner would have missed out on a 007 VIP treatment that she had booked for my birthday.
We missed the event in the VIP lounge but the staff arranged for VIP treatment to be served to us in our seats in time for the movie.
A big thank you to the staff with the personal touch who truly care.

Not your normal cinema

Not your normal cinema.

More of a cosy home feeling style of cinema. Staff were very friendly and the snacks were very tasty. My grandchildren loved the experience. Thank you.

Excellent, friendly Cinema

I was pleasantly surprised, having not been to the venue before. I watched a film in Screen 9 of Stockport Cinema and it was a very relaxing atmosphere. The reclining seats were very comfy with loads of room. The decor of the cinema and lighting is what impressed me the most. I will definitely be visiting here again. A thoroughly good night out.

Very very dirty disgusting…

Very very dirty disgusting uncomfortable old old cinema. Falling apart. IMAX is great that's the only reason it's got 1 start however that's cost £5 more on top of £11... Per film. So avoid if you can. Then they may bring it up to date...... it has not been updated for over 15 years, and that was when it was cineworld.
