THIS IS A SCAM

THIS IS A SCAM. I do not believe that Lily's cleaners are a bonafide company and I was scammed our of £90. I was meant to be having my bedroom carpet and sofa cleaned.

Firstly, the cleaner arrived 3.5hours late. When he arrived he admitted he'd forgotten his vacuum....
He absolutely stank of cigarettes to the point that my flat smelt of him until the next day.

He was cleaning for 2 hours and insisted on being paid in cash. When he left the carpet and sofa were soaking wet so it was hard to see if they were clean. An hour later I checked the sofa after it had dried a little and it transpired that all he had done is flip my cushion covers over so the dirty side was underneath! The carpet looked dirtier than it did to start with. I was furious.

I rang the head office who have not answered the phone since. I cannot get hold of anyone to get my money back. Never use this company - it is a SCAM.

Scammed me out of £170 for a service that wasn't completed to standard and left my house filthy!

I used LillyG cleaning service in West Lothian (they're based in Falkirk) as a treat for a deep clean before moving into a new house.

They charged me £170 for a 6 hour deep clean to include a long list of items laid out in the package on their site. Due to rushing with the move, I didn't inspect the clean before I paid but perhaps stupidly trusted them to do a good job and pop the key back through the letterbox. When attending the property 48 hours later it was filthy...

Cobwebs, baked on food on the untouched hob, filthy windowsills, kitchen applianced hadnt been wiped down, crumby countertops, black and filthy floors, dirty skirting boards and the shower screen was covered in solid soap scum. They also hadn't cleaned Venetian blinds or light fittings, both part of the deep clean.

Since I'd already paid by bank transfer I messaged to express how unhappy I was. I was shocked to get a reply from "Gils" saying they had run out of time and it was a much bigger job than they expected (it's a tiny one bed property) and that they had not completed the clean to a standard they were happy with, and they should have communicated this to me. Ironically after they admitted this they refused even a partial refund or to come back and make good but said I could book them for another day at their regular rate to finish the job. They said it would be a 2.5 day clean. For a one bed flat. They then bombarded me with pictures of how "disgustingly filthy" it was. I'm aware - that's why I booked a deep clean and cleaning is LITERALLY what you're being paid for. I don't need to be sent photos as an excuse for you being unable to carry out a clean to an acceptable standard.

I'm trying to take them to small claims but this may take time and in the meantime I'm £170 down and can't afford to hire another cleaner. In the meantime they'll get away with scamming me and god knows how many others with their shoddy service.

I didn't get what I paid for, instead I got stress I do not need during an already stressful house move and now have to clean the place myself.

The state they left the flat in is shocking. They claimed to have spent 4 hours on the kitchen and bathroom but other than a clean bathroom sink and loo there was no evidence they'd done anything at all.

Edit: We cleaned the place from top to bottom ourselves the other day and found skirting boards, doors, windowsills, venetian blinds and light fittings all filthy and covered in cobwebs and dust. We used dozens of cleaning cloths which all came away black and revealed that very little had actually been done. Even the floors looked cleaner after we mopped them.

Please don't hire Lilly G Cleaning in Falkirk and pass this onto anyone considering hiring a cleaner as a warning!
