With fascinating objects up for bid in more than 50 countries—instantly translated to your language and currency—LiveAuctioneers is a worldwide marketplace with treasures waiting to be discovered, whether you're an avid collector or first-time visitor. By hosting thousands of auctions in real time via the Internet, the site allows unprecedented access to remote sales, and savvy bidders can often land desired items at very desirable prices. Leave an absentee bid, or fully engage in the live-auction action—it's up to you. All bidding takes place via a secure bidder network, which keeps your maximum bids for upcoming sales private until the item is opened on the day of the sale. LiveAuctioneers revolutionized the industry from the start. In 2002, the NYC-based company formed a marketing partnership with eBay to introduce eBay Live Auctions. This alliance of LiveAuctioneers and eBay enabled auction houses worldwide to go online with their live sales—a development that changed the auction business forever. In 2009, the debut of LiveAuctioneers' iPhone and Android apps, with live-bidding capabilities, opened up a new mobile pipeline to bid anytime, from anywhere, with complete anonymity. Since then, LiveAuctioneers has been the first to engage bidders with live streaming video, easy online payments, personalized search alerts, and more. Now in its second decade, LiveAuctioneers is the Web's leading auction-related site, with millions of qualified bidders. LiveAuctioneers also provides a constant stream of industry intelligence to auctioneers, collectors, museums, appraisers, consignors and more via: +The easy-to-use Auction Results Database, a vast database with more than 21 million results that offers keyword-search access to verified auction outcomes, recent to historical. The updated archive is the #1 free online resource for the trade, appraisers, collectors, designers, art institutions, estate officers, journalists, students and others on the research trail; +Auction Central News, the global destination for the latest auction headlines, mixing timely industry news with feature articles by experts on all things design; +The LiveAuctioneers Consignment Hub, an easy way for interested consignors to share their property for review and evaluation with thousands of auction houses in one spot. There are many ways to get started as a collector. You can browse curated auctions, find auctions near you, set up keyword search alerts, search, bid and win.

The item was presented on the website properly. The vendor sent the item as described on the website. I thought that the price was fair and in line with the market.

The bidding process is very good, and also the search capabilities. Above all, the access to so many great items! The negatives are the Live Auctioneers shipping program, which has ridiculous rates that all the auction houses have to bypass, and the online payments fees, which are generally unreasonable.

Search engine located desired specific items. Makes it easy to save searches & specific items. Offers a platform for bidding, payment & shipping.

This site gives independent auctioneers too much insight and control, which can lead to potential issues with shilling depending on the auctioneer’s trustworthiness. The biggest concern is that auctioneers have too much information about bidders—they can see when you hover over the bid button and know your maximum pre-bid. They can also delete final bids, which might make you win items even if you were outbid. This creates opportunities for abuse, such as up-bidding internally, especially since they can view pre-bids or decide an item needs more bids. If they overbid, they can always remove the last bid and claim the previous bidder didn’t pay. To protect yourself, bid on the day of the auction rather than relying on pre-bidding to avoid being taken advantage of. Not all auctioneers are equal, there are trustworthy and untrustworthy ones. Just sharing my experience.

LiveAuctioneers is great EXCEPT for getting me a refund from Dalshire International Auctions of Texas.
I have been owed a refund in excess of $3,700 for SIX months.
I have contacted Dalshire several times, and I have tried even more times through texts emails, and phone calls.
Dalshire has not provided a refund giving several different excuses including LiveAuctioneers failure to provide the refund.
In this instance, LiveAuction has failed.

The auctions have a lot of items. The site is very easy to navigate.

My experience was great! Delivery came quickly and all items were in excellent shape!

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with LiveAuctioneers has been deeply disappointing from an auction house perspective.
First and foremost, customer support is virtually nonexistent. When issues arise — whether technical glitches during a live sale or bidder-related disputes — timely assistance is critical. Unfortunately, responses are slow, unhelpful, or simply unavailable when you need them most. For a platform that markets itself as a professional partner to auction houses, the lack of reliable support is unacceptable.
The technology also feels outdated. The interface is clunky, backend tools are limited, and live bidding performance can lag at crucial moments. In the auction business, seconds matter. When technology fails or struggles to keep up, it directly impacts hammer prices and bidder confidence.
Additionally, the fee structure does not reflect the level of service or innovation provided. For the commissions charged, auction houses should expect modern tools, strong bidder management systems, seamless integrations, and responsive account support.
Instead, the experience feels stagnant and underdeveloped. Auction houses depend on trust, efficiency, and performance. Unfortunately, this platform falls short in all three areas. I would strongly encourage management to invest in modernizing their technology and dramatically improving their customer support if they want to maintain long-term relationships with professional auctioneers.

The Auctions themselves are great.
However, the shipping through LiveAuctioneers (although easier) usually costs too much and is often inferior.

I bid on a wrist watch , I was the only bidder ! I won this auction ! Yet they never sent me any thing after it ended. I stayed on top of this because I didn’t want to lose the item. So I contacted them right after it ended . It took them a day to get back to me , claiming. I wasn’t the winner ??? It got 1 bid ! I put that one bid in ! He sent me a message saying that he had posted on two platforms. You Can’t hold 2 auctions in 2 seporate platforms ! That doesn’t even make logical sense! I said it’s an auction you can’t do that! two people can’t bid on it at the same time in 2 seporate post ! nobody else bid on it but me he’s lying!! he just didn’t get the amount of money he was looking for and now he doesn’t want to sell it I will be reporting it to the Auction board! I agree these people are scammers. . I’ll never buy from them again. I will buy on whatnot app auctions ! I took snapshots after I bid showing that I had the bid. Such lairs . Fraud ! They probably don’t even have the watch but just taking people’s money. I wouldn’t trust these people for nothing.

Buyer beware! They are only a platform and do not vet what the sellers are putting on. I purchased what was listed as a Hermes bag but it is a counterfeit item. They did help contact the seller and was able to cancel my won bid. Also the fees are quite high, you can pay up to 25% more what the bid price is!

Hi - I am an accredited appraiser who has used your service and referred business to you very frequently. Your recent changes that disable past auction searches have let me to switch to other databases. This will hurt your business.

Warning: LiveAuctioneers allows sellers to charge your card via AutoPay, take your money - including shipping fees - and then simply disappear.
In my case, the gallery (C Biddle Auction Gallery) charged my card for a very expensive item. They have now stopped responding, kept the funds, and did not ship the goods.
Shockingly, LiveAuctioneers support admitted they have zero control over their vendors and actually suggested I file a chargeback with my bank instead of resolving the event themselves.
*This platform offers zero buyer protection*. If a seller takes your money and goes silent, you are on your own. Use at your own risk.

BUYERS BEWARE — In My Opinion This Operates Like a Scam for Buyers
Consumers should use extreme caution when buying high-value jewelry through LiveAuctioneers (an Auction Technology Group (ATG company) from NY Elizabeth LLC (a NY Elizabeth Holdings, Inc. company). My experience was costly and unacceptable. I purchased two Van Cleef necklaces believing they were the Alhambra pendants, but they turned out to be the smaller Sweet versions. The listing photos, presentation, and estimate prices made them appear identical to the larger, more expensive version. The size difference was not clearly shown visually, and I would never have bid at those prices if it had been. The estimated sales price ranges were shown above retail for the smaller items, which made the outcome even worse. What makes this especially concerning is that neither LiveAuctioneers or NY Elizabeth LLC will warrant the items authenticity. LiveAuctioneers advertises seller vetting and buyer safeguards, but in my experience that vetting either did not occur at a meaningful level or was not effective in protecting buyers in this transaction and no practical resolution was provided. consumers should not rely on LiveAuctioneers platform vetting claims or buyer-protection language alone and should independently verify the details of the sale before bidding or refraining from bidding altogether.

Had issues with John F painting. Could not get money back. Allowed it to stand. Sold with description leading buyer to believe it’s real. Had 3 auction houses tell me it isn’t.
