I'm not noticing any real difference…

I'm not noticing any real difference between this paid for software and the free leawo software - bar this paid for thing crashes when using other programs at the same time, like Chrome (which I've now found it states not to do!!!) and the sound volume jumps to max sometimes when I first start it & my headsets go VERY loud so Owwww. There is also the zone issue for DVD/Blue rays, something I've never had an issue with but now, with this, I get a zone change prompt on disks that I've never had issue with before (even on Windows 10.) The little bell icon to say update is more a prompt to buy other of their "special" software, now why would anyone do that after using this? It's subpar and if you have a decent computer say 2080S plus a 34" latest model Alienware monitor then don't waste your time with it or money. As for upsampling DvD et al - more grain with that or more blur!!!

The products themselves are ok but…

The products themselves are ok but their behaviour and sales techniques is horrible. Buying products and then having the hobbled and restricted when the new version comes out is disgusting behaviour. The incessant ads for the upgrade is just blatant sell, sell, sell. They should look after the people that purchase their products and not rip them off.

Very slow processing - Why Not Use Adobe Instead? - Bad customer service

If you're at this level of video editing do yourself a favor and use Adobe. I've used power director for 3 years.

Processing power on Powerdirector is weak compared to Adobe.
It will waste hours of your time waiting for videos to process.

It also tends to freeze and take massive amounts of time to produce.

If you produce videos often or videos that are generally longer, then I'd suggest just getting adobe to save time.

there is very little customer service and no refunds after 30 days. Satisfaction not guaranteed.

If I could start again, I would just use Adobe!!!

Abysmal Customer Service

I have 4 pieces of Cyberlink software which have, over the years cost me a lot of money and have worked reasonably well. Recently I re-installed my operating system and my PhotoDirector popped up an error saying the activation code had exceeded the number of uses when I tried installing it. I have only ever used it on a single PC and am not, in any way trying to misuse the license. I contacted customer service and eventually got a reply (3 days later) asking for screen shots of the error popup and the activation code - REALLY!! 5 days later I'm still waiting for a reply. This is probably the worse customer service I have ever come across and I am now looking for suitable alternatives to all my Cyberlink software (already purchased alternatives to PhotoDirector, Power2Go and MediaEspresso).
Whilst the software is ok the Cyberlink customer service is dismal and, even worse, they appear to be so complacent they don't even seem to monitor reviews on sites like Trustpilot. I would recommend looking for alternatives until such time as Cyberlink understand that looking after previously loyal customers deserve better service from the currently abysmal customer service department.

No Internet? Software does not work.

I was hoping to use cyberlink to edit video, but I'm often in areas where Internet is not available for days at a time. This makes the software UNUSABLE unless you buy an expensive lifetime license.

The tools are GREAT, but their Internet requirement makes it worthless. Wish I would have bought monthly and saved the one year subscription rate as I cannot edit video unless I have a robust Internet connection to verify my subscription EVERY TIME I OPEN IT.

Huge scammers

Huge scammers. Forcing you to pay again after 1 month to have access the download. Someone needs to put together a class action lawsuit against this highway robbery.

Excellent software and customer…

Excellent software and customer service, been using Powerdirector for years, the best out there. My 11 year old son got the latest power director for his birthday but threw away the box with the install code. Contacted customer support and they supplied a new code. Can not rate this company high enough !!!!

CyberLink foff & never ever come back!

CyberLink foff & never ever come back!
This software house is a joke, you buy a "ultimate" bundle just to find out that you need a "platinum" version for the software to run all the buttons you have active in your "ultimate" version!
How many times have I upgraded just to be duped into another "fake" upgrade?! What, new version 5 minutes after I upgraded my "platinum" software? Well yes, because some features that used to be active on my old "ultimate" version are not on my new "platinum" version unless I buy "newer" version! (for example "Hot keys" in Screen Recording software!).
Be warned and avoid!

Got this as part of an external DVD…

Got this as part of an external DVD player. I thought I had to download from the supplied disc to install. Only after tying up 2 gigs on my laptop did it inform me the features were only a 30 day trial and now I am hit with an add every time I even try it. Will uninstall. Don't waste your time. Deceptive.

After experiencing one of their…

After experiencing one of their intrusive components in their software, I made three attempts to get support, all of which failed.
The component PDRSTYLEAGENT started refusing to allow my computer to shut down. When I complained of this, asking for help, all I got was more (unrelated) questions and requests for nonsense things such as a screenshot of the installed program, a screenshot of PDRSTYLEAGENT preventing computer shut down, and so forth.
The application has potential (I think) but with support like they offer, RUN!

Beware Of Outdated Software and Constant Upgrades

I just wish they would keep their software updated, especially on the OEM versions. When I bought me a new Blu Ray burner it came with Version 10 of the media suite. I called them and asked them what year did Version 10 come out? They said it was in the year 2012. What I saying is that they can do better than this. Also like the other reviewers, I agree, their software is very expensive, and you always need to upgrade it like every year or you will lose support. These trials need to be more than 15 and 30 days, more like 60 to 90 days just so we can get a chance to test it out when we need to test it out for decent purposes. 15 days for to try out the premium features is a little strict, and does not help me get a chance to test it when I need to use it. They said sign up for a newsletter, well guess what? I tried to sign up for a newsletter, and I hardly get any news letter from them in my mail box. Also they are terrible with retail packaging, what I am saying is the retailers are not selling the most latest versions of the software, so we end up getting something that is like 7 years older or 8 years older, and we don't need to deal with corrupted / out dated software, but they are best at pushing those obsolete copies of Media Suite 9 and 10. So be sure that you find the most up to date software or else you're going to be running into compatibility problems with Windows 10.

Great support

The first time I needed support from Cyberlink with PowerDirector, they investigated the problem, after receiving answers to some technical questions. I had a problem with the recordings from my Dashcam, PowerDirector didn't recognize the mp4 file format, but they found the problem, and send me a fix, so now PowerDirector is working again.

I have been a fan of your products for years, and after this I still will be.

Thanks for a great support :)

I really don't understand the negative reviews of Cyberlink. I have been using products including PhotoDirector, Powe2Go and powerdvd for ages with great results and no support problems. I am just trying PowerDVD 18 and it's brilliant. It seems there may be other, unique reasons for some people having problems but I would personally highly recommend both the company and its products.

Product Useless and Wretched Customer Service

I bought Power DVD v. 17 the Friday before New Year's Eve. I cannot play any discs with it. It is permanently stuck on Region 1. I was given no chance to set the Region Code. I placed a trouble ticket, that still is sitting unanswered. This means, I have a useless product on my hands. Customer service is apparently non-existent, or their products have so many problems, that they cannot get to people's tickets in a timely manner. Either way, this seems like a company that is too big for its britches.

Complete rip off

Complete rip off. Their software might work fine for a while but they update it in such a way that the software refuses to play anything forcing upgrades to their newer software which they support..(supposedly)

This company is a joke, walking the line as corrupt and con-artist like.

Never again.
