If I could give 0 stars I would.

Rang the number, the person who answered did not introduce them selfs just said hello and waiting for me to talk.

Got someone sent out for a replacement Yale lock, max £30 online. They was very late, no apologies. Without even looking at the lock properly they said £150, I said no and they dropped it to £100. Clearly ripping people off, no id no proof of who they are or work for. AVOID.

Total crook

The website states"Yes, we believe in transparency, and our pricing is always upfront, with no hidden fees or charges." I was quoted over the phone £235 and would be there in 30 minutes I was desperate as had been locked out all night. Well they arrive after just an hour and when the door was open then went on to add a call out charge and VAT the total £365. Total crook avoid at all costs.

Nice lad came out. Couldn't open my front door so decided to do my back door. Showed me the tools and set to work. Saying a whopping £269 to get me in. Took him 20min. Not bad earnings eh. He said my lock needed replacing too. More expense. Went to the van but did have one. He said well ive been careful and your lock actually works so ill just refit that, a miracle !.
He brings the card machine and for a 20min job its cost me £406. Well ove a week and a half money for me as I live alone and although I work i have health issues that limit my hours. Just wow

Avoid like the plague

I had to pay £889 to get a lock changed on a French window. By the time I realised it was a scam, I had already been locked out of my house for a couple of hours, and needed to get in, so I was stuck with having to pay this ridiculous sum. The emailed receipt gave no details of the work done. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Avoid at all costs

We couldn’t open our door as the lock had broken. My wife called this company and they sent a locksmith out 1 hour later.

It was a Romanian guy called Gabriel who came out, he said the mechanism needed replacing as well all the other bits in the door (probably didn’t). He came across really friendly. He said 179 to break the door open then the mechanism cost 269. He offered us 20% discount and said he will exclude VAT because we have a 9 month old baby.

Anyway, total costs (somehow) came to £739, I was more in shock and he’d done the job so felt like I had to pay it. He’d conned us into thinking these were genuine prices and as we had no locks on the door, it was an emergency as we couldn’t leave the house. He sent a payment receipt which shows nothing but confirmation that I’d paid, he said I’d receive an invoice within 30 mins (enough time for him to leave) which never came. We messaged him asking for a proper invoice, and tried calling but no response. Before leaving he was insistent we phone our insurance To get a refund - almost like he thinks I can charge what I want as you can be refunded anyway.

I can’t believe I was stupid enough to pay it, I’m going to get a proper MLA certified locksmith out to price the job up, hopefully then I can raise a dispute with my credit card company.

Do not use this company and if you get a man called Gabriel don’t pay him a penny. Vile excuse of a man, using my 9 month old daughter to charm us into paying extortionate costs. What kind of person preys on a young couple with a baby into paying so much money. Dread to think what he’s done to others, and especially the more vulnerable.

I’ve never done a trust pilot review but feel like I had to in the hope it saves someone’s hard earned money going into the hands of that horrible man.

Scammed and feeling stupid!

I fell for this scam yesterday and I’m kicking myself. I couldn’t lock my door so couldn’t leave the house. I was given a number by a friend of a locksmith he had used. I rang the number twice and it was dead. I was just looking for other options when a call came through from another mobile number and a foreign sounding man asked if I had been trying to contact a locksmith. I thought the call must have been diverted as perhaps they were out on jobs so I said yes. He was very friendly and polite and said he could help me. He said he would be with me in an hour and I agreed. He rang a little while later and said he would be with me in 18 minutes, all seemed very professional so far. Two men then arrived at my door and started looking at the lock. I left them to it and in looking out of the window I noted they had arrived in an unmarked white Skoda. It was at this stage that I got a bit concerned, but then they called me back to the door and they had fully stripped it down and told me I needed not just the lock but the whole mechanism. I said that sounded expensive and he said £249 for the mechanism and then a range of prices for the lock. I opted for a good standard of lock and feeling like I had no choice as now I’m in a worse position than before, I agreed to £165 for what was described as an ‘unpickable’ Yale branded lock. I must admit that I felt uneasy but I was alone in the house and so I just went along with it. The job was completed in no time and they once again called me. I went to the door and they demonstrated the door working as it should and so it was time to pay. On his phone he added together the cost of the mechanism, the lock, a call out fee that was never discussed, an extortionate labour fee, plus VAT. They told me I had to pay £730!! I questioned it but they said that was the price. Reluctantly I paid by credit card, I was in shock. I couldn’t believe the cost.

I requested a receipt, they said it would be sent electronically. On receipt of this document I find it is just a generic purchase receipt, no itemisation or VAT details. I text them on the number they called me on and request a proper VAT invoice but they do not respond. I’m guessing my 3 year warranty will be void also…

I felt uneasy all night, discussed it with my husband and he called another locksmith out today. We are now told the lock was second hand and the mechanism is not new. I have been totally ripped off, but what can you do? We have had the lock replaced today as I just don’t trust this company. I would warn anyone not to fall for their scam like I have. They prey on the vulnerable when you are desperate and need help. Vile people.

DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

I phoned up this company which is Local Locksmiths 24/7 and the woman quoted £49.00 after I'd told her my problem. Within ¾'s of an hour Gabriel turned up, he was really nice, bald headed and a foreigner, which wasn't a problem but you'll see why I gave his name and description when I've finished. My back door wouldn't open. So he arrived and took well over an hour to get the door open, which amazed me as I tried everything and couldn't do it, as it was really hard to do. I asked him if he could fix what was wrong with the door and he said maybe, I'll see what i can do. He could, but it will be dear. I was screwed really as I needed the job doing. So to cut it short he ended up putting a new barrel and a new door gear box in the door after taking out the big strip with all the hooks in it that was originally in the UPVC door. So I had no way of securing the back door the way it was security wise with the strip he'd taken out. I asked how much it would cost to replace the strip he'd taken out and he said over £400. Well I couldn't afford that so I was just happy he'd fixed the door with the new mechanism. Then the bill came up. He said that he wouldn't charge me tax because I was his friend and then he started going through what he'd done and how much it'd cost for everything that he'd done. £589.00 he charged me, so i had to pay it, I borrowed money off my Mum and paid it. I didn't know what to do, so I had to pay it. He then said if you buy the strip, phone him and he will come and fit and give me a 50% discount because I was his friend. The day after, I found Orrell Lock and Key, took the strip with all the bits that where still on it and it cost me £88.50 to replace it and that included a new barrel and my daughter fitted it that very evening. I'm 63 and I haven't a clue about stuff like this. Gabriel quoted me £400 for the new complete strip and it cost £88.50.
If you use this company you're in for a shock. Don't use them whatsoever. I am gutted that I've been conned out of so much money, especially because I don't have that sort of money. If this Bald little man named Gabriel and is a foreigner, he could be Polish but I'm not sure, comes to your door, be aware, you're going to get ripped off.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. EVER.

Since I've wrote this I've got in touch with the Locksmith who has said last night that he worked for Z Locksmiths, this is a fella called Gabriel. He was the fella that came out. I phoned him this morning and he's said the company is 4 all services. So I don't know what to believe. Until the 1st company I've wrote about can prove he doesn't work for them, its staying up.
If it helps anybody who employs him, he gave me a reciept and his phone number 07904 062671 and the name of the company on the reciept is Local Locksmith 24/7. So be careful everyone in the West Lanc's area.

Clearly a scam

Clearly a scam. Advertises no call out fee. I'm locked out of my house only on the latch, guy arrives in an unmarked car and after 5 minutes of fiddling about with the lock and various locksmithing gear announces the only way to open is to drill the latch and replace the lock for £240. I say in that case I'll stay at a friend's because my girlfriend is coming back tomorrow with her key. Magically the door is open in 10 seconds. £99 "labour fee". Obviously I was expecting to pay a fee, but lying about a free call out fee and then lying about being unable to open the lock without replacing? Absolute nonsense.

SCAM Was quoted £49 on phone by foreign…

SCAM Was quoted £49 on phone by foreign lady for call out. Door would not lock. Nick (only first name on lanyard) attended in a car. No company vehicle. First said needed new lock and quoted me funny money. Told him to leave it. He then said it was the frame which he could fix for £120. I agreed to this. He unscrewed the metal insert which I could have done myself and advised me to go to b&q for draught excluder as the door does not close properly now and only locks with the one bolt rather than the original 5. Absolute scam. DO NOT USE. I now need a new door!

Scam do not use

Scam do not use. I should of looked at these reviews first. Driver turned up when my young son was in and started the work without given us a call with quote. I called him and he already started. Said it would be £94 labour fee and £150-£180 on top for a part. I said no i had lock done last year for 120 pounds. But he said hes started so he would still need £94 for what hes done. I called complained the foreign lady just says ill tell my manager. Nobody called. Because he started i said just have to do it. So he said hed fix only the middle lock for another £100 i Then i give him £200 There number on the invoice is wrong too. Absolute scammers

Absolutely disgusting company

Absolutely disgusting company! I accidentally locked myself out of my house last night and was panicking how to get back in, as I live alone. I googled for local locksmiths in my area. This company was the first I tried. I was told £49 fee and if they couldn't get in and had to take the lock out, I would have to pay extra, approximately £25 for a new lock. He arrived, didn't attempt to get into the lock, said it would be £125 to take the lock out and then I was conned into paying £95 for a new lock as the cheaper one he said was not burglar proof. £265 in total for 5 minutes of work. I've rang the company back today as the lock is loose and moving inside the door. They apparently only have 1 technician, (who turned up in a Skoda car with other men with him last night) and said if I wanted a new lock I would have to call another company. I told them that they needed to come and sort it out as they had fitted it. The technician then rang me and told me to check a screw in the door because it might be loose. In other words "I'm not coming back" He wasnt English and obviously a SCAMMER. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY NEED REPORTING!

Ripoff

Wanted to change a lock. £40 labour but no lock prices given. Turn up and tell you it's £250 to replace with the same lock which you can buy from wickes for £20. Then charges £54 for cancellation. Cancellation costs more than the labour. What a rip off.

It was still cheaper to pay the cancellation and change the lock yourself watching a YouTube video.

Next day my new keys don’t work in the new lock! Called the locksmith back and he said it’s broke and we need new one! And we could have to pay again! This is for my elderly parents who are disabled! Please don’t use!

Dodgy pricing and bad manners

Looks like i got away lightly. Called for a quote, said £49. Guy arrived v quickly and told me £79 (lock was an old yale single bolt and i didnt want it replacing since it was just the internal door) I questioned the price and he ran the spiel of different locks etc. obviously you don’t really have a choice so i said fine.

He finished up leaving all the drilled out metal dust everywhere and chucked the lock on the ground.
When i checked my bank app id actually paid £89. 😠
Maybe they just pluck out random prices. Id avoid if i were you!!!

There was no drama in this crisis

Key dropped out of my pocket on a visit to an older lady to give her a bit of company. I rang at 9.30pm. The locksmith arrived 30 mins later (just as he had promised) - It took about 2 mins to remove and replace. Cheery, chatty young chappie. Yes, I expected it to cost me - but thankfully it seems that it will be covered by my insurance. What could have been a very anxious time was sorted very speedily.
