When we arrived to pick up the car the gentleman doing the paperwork was incredibly slow, but that’s alright- he then directed us to his colleague in the car park.
When we got there I gave the man our reservation and he just pointed up the car park , not even to the car- when I went to get the car , it was filthy dirty , scratches and bangs and definitely not the car or even the type we had reserved. I told the agent in the car park and not joking , he screamed at me, on the top of his voice , quiet unbelievable , that he never washed the car- when I told him not to talk to me like that and I was going back to the office he lost it , he was spitting and screaming and cursing like a wild animal- if I was not in Italy I would have had it out with him out but did not want trouble with the Carabinari- especially being in a foreign couple- he had insulted both myself and my wife,he would not give me his name nor would his colleague , caramillo.
This incident took place on the 28/8/26 at around 4 pm. Caramillo organised another vehicle for us ( which mind you I had to pay more for??) and we left . What a disgraceful employee ( Not Caramillo the other animal - he was of average height, dirty greasy black hair, thin and the rudest individual we have had the displeasure of meeting in Italy. What a disgrace!!!

Absolutely perfect, very nice lady at the counter gave us a new car with 12000km, smelled new, clean, we took a trip to Alberobello(the other side of the Boot), and it was just a very good experience. No deposit needed, payed 90eur for the day, and returned full tank. Thank you, Locauto... Great, 5 stars.

We have been renting cars through another organization for years and ended up at Locauto based on the reviews. You do need a bit of patience to pick up and return your car because of the row, as the lady sits alone at the counter, but once it is your turn, everything runs very smoothly. They are honest about any existing damage and didn't give the pushy insurance sales pitch that I always hate. They were also very relaxed when returning the car. In short: worth repeating.

Dent / scratch disagreement, Locauto / Alamo rental from Napoli to Pisa. Scratch is charged for almost 500 euro without any documentation at all. This behaviour should be illegal. Be warned.
