Before working with Lola Rutherford, my aim was to enhance my public speaking skills, but anxiety and lack of clarity often hindered my performance. Lola's training marked a turning point for me. Tom really helped me with my delivery and prepare my talk track, emphasising the key words and pausing for effect. He really helped me practice my general approach and have a framework in which to work with. This allowed me to confidently get on stage 3 times (including the last one in front of over 1,000 people!). Would highly recommend, thanks Tom!

I completed 6 sessions with Ali Tennant-Price. I was looking for general help in how to use my voice more effectively. I also had some job interviews coming up and thought the sessions might help my confidence - they did!

Ali tailored the sessions specifically for me. They included: Delivery and vocal landscape.
Off the cuff work- focusing on keeping energy in the voice. Non-verbals (gesture and facial expression). Vocal expression and interview prep roleplay. Putting it all together.

I can honesty say, the sessions were eye-opening and fun. Ali is lovely and a great teacher. The most telling part of each session was the before and after. I could really hear the difference in my voice.

I can recommend Ali and the London Speech Workshop if you are looking for help of any sort with your voice. Perhaps you are due to give a presentation, or simply to increase your confidence in using your voice. A great experience for me. Thanks, Ali!

I took 12 sessions (accent softening) and it was a great experience - I definitely learned a lot and improved my English speaking skills. Kate Guest is a fabulous woman and a very experienced coach, I often booked an early morning session and it was such a great start of the day. I now have the tools to further develop myself and feel more confident. LSW follows up regularly (by mail or phone) and makes sure the admin is easy. Highly recommended!

"I have realised that Mark is not just training me but instead helping me unlock my abilities to organise my thoughts and communicate them more effectively. The time it takes to process and express my thoughts will become shorter with practice.

Working with Mark is almost therapeutic; the actual value comes when you can communicate your thoughts gracefully and organically. Although I have made significant progress, I don't see myself ending my sessions with Mark anytime soon. I plan to purchase another block of 15 sessions and continue for a long time. I had a fantastic series of sessions with speech & vocal coach Tom Plenderleith at the London Speech Workshop. He explained the content and exercises for Effective Communication really well and gave concise and succinct feedback.

Tom’s sessions were fun and engaging, and he created a relaxing and friendly environment for me to ‘attempt’ off the cuff speaking which I had been really nervous about. The exercises we did to practice the frameworks and features of effective communication were fun and different.

As a result of working with Tom, I feel much more confident going into meetings and presentations at work, with the right tools and practice to help me not waffle and reduce the amount of times I say ‘um’!

One of the things that I appreciated most was Tom’s ability to make the content of our sessions relevant to my specific needs. He took the time to understand my goals and challenges, and he tailored our work accordingly. He also had a great sense of humor, which helped to make the sessions even more enjoyable.

I started coaching at the London Speech Workshop because I felt uncertain about my presentation skills. Career progress means I am required to do more public speaking, so I had the goal to gain skills and be more confident as a result.

Lola brought tremendous energy to each session and provided positive, highly practical feedback. I could instantly feel that I was making progress, which was great for motivation. The techniques are simple to understand and taught engagingly.

I was very happy to have Lola Rutherford as my couch in the the Effective Communication Course. I took the the ten-days course and it was informative, fun, and very helpful.
I took the course to prepare for a high-stakes work-related presentation. The whole course was tailored to prepare myself for this presentation. We worked together on how to communicate the message of my talk effectively. We worked on my slides, intonation, pauses, and overall, we practice a lot.
I can only recommend the experience!

This was the best thing I spent money on this year! My coach Natasha was amazing and made me feel so comfortable. The difference this course has made is incredible! I use everything I learnt from Natasha on a daily basis and I've recieved comments at work about how much my public speaking has improved. So much so that even my colleagues want to sign up!

Kate was my coach. She was kind, compassionate, supportive, and focused mainly on my day-to-day challenges. She was very attentive through all of my sessions and provided a set of exercises that significantly enhanced my pace of delivery and brought more structure to my conversations.
However, while reflecting on my entire course of 10 sessions, I was left feeling somewhat lost in terms of my progress and where I stood in my journey of improvement.While my experience with Kate was largely positive, there are a few aspects of the course that I believe could be improved. At the outset of the course, I found the structure to be somewhat lacking in transparency. Given the promise of a tailored approach, I expected a more structured curriculum that could adapt to my specific areas of improvement. Furthermore, considering the investment involved, I believe there is room for additional support, particularly in terms of tracking a student's progress throughout the entire journey. A more proactive engagement between sessions could greatly enhance the overall learning experience.

I was eager to improve my communication skills and had heard great things about LSW. After my initial taster session with Emmy, I decided to sign up for a set of 10 sessions, a combination of Accent Softening and Communication Skills.

From our very first session, Emmy demonstrated a deep understanding of my challenges and tailored our one-on-one sessions accordingly. She was not only highly professional but also incredibly friendly and caring; it felt like she had my back right from day one. The sessions were well-structured, and there was a wealth of useful materials that I could continue to work with on my own.
