Booked a taxi last night to arrive at 420am this morning going to Gatwick, which is about 40 minute drive. Got a text at 421 saying the driver had a family emergency and they were looking for another driver. Back and forth on the phone and they eventually said 10 a driver was on his way and would be 10 minutes later. Unsurprisingly, no one turned up and when I phoned again they said they couldn't reach the driver and they recommended using another service. Unfortunately, Uber was then the only option and it was difficult to secure a ride. End result, missed my flight and had to fork out £170 for a flight later that day.
I just can't understand why they're checking with their "driver" at the time he's meant to be picking me up whether he's actually doing so. However, looking at the other review, just feel like this lot are a bunch of jokers.

This is the first and last time I booked a taxi via londontaxis247.co.uk under the guise of ewellcars.co.uk.

We needed a taxi for 8.15am to Morden station to catch a connection from London King’s Cross. We have 4 young children and needed a 7 seater.

They messaged at 8.14am, 1 minute before departure that the journey has been cancelled as the driver is no longer available

Surely if there were any issues then should be told much more in advance so at least have a chance of making the journey.
