An outstanding, intimate gathering where we learnt about the history and future of the brand. This was intertwined with an interesting overview of the whiskey-making process whilst sampling 3 excellent whiskeys.
In my humble opinion, this is a business with a significant future, they have set out to be the number one premium whiskey in Ireland and from everything I saw and heard, they are well on track.

Tasting and Telling. It was good to hear from Dave, some of the background to the distillery and the "big house". Having watched the transformation of the factory, the house and the grounds, from a locals perspective, it has been very good to see. Dave and his team have kept the locals fully informed and involved, and we are very grateful. Well done all.

The whiskey is excellent. They wanted to create a new top tier whiskey for people to enjoy when they go to the top shelf. It worked. With RB running out, welcome Lough Gill.

Well planned event. Interesting & informative input from both speakers & good switching to David to avoid blank space as Ollie moved from one part of the distillery to the next.
The setting is gorgeous, the product delicious, the gents engaging and passionate about what they do and the whole project & vision.
Very happy that my good friend Lesley in PR West told me about Athrú and I wish you all the best for the future.

I was a bit dissapointed as it was hard to keep up sometimes with the switching over from the two speakers. In all but one case I didn't hear the brand name when we opened the samples. If the name is not on the bottle you must make it very clear which variety we are tasting. You need to lighten up the event with some distractions, possible a local singer or trad musicians from the area just to give the listener some reflective time. Most humans can't keep their focus for an hour so mix it up. In doing so you can make a big deal of opening each sample and make sure everyone watching knows the brand name. I would check out some other similar type events.

I have been on quite a few whiskey brewery tours and this was up with the best!

Thanks to both Dave and Ollie for all the fabulous insights into the whiskey brewing process and history of the distillery. Can't wait to book a physical tour next year!!
