Has potential

This subscription service could be great but I'm still not convinced of the value for money and these new plans are set to trip up the customer! Now that there are two tiers (hardcover and paperback) I was shocked to discover they still charge you hardcover price even if you choose a paperback one month?! The instructions regarding moving between the two tiers are not clear and leave customers out of pocket if they get it wrong (at which point it is blamed on the customer when this would actually be easily resolved with better website programming). Also, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired and there needs to be better communication regarding when exactly boxes will be dispatched (although admittedly this has improved somewhat during the 7 months I have been with them). Finally, one other niggle - the magazine, postcards, and bookmark were a novelty the first month but getting them every single month is unnecessary and unkind to the environment?!

Having said all of the above, as long as you don't have any queries/issues then the boxes themselves with their choice of books and surprise treats is actually really great.... and I so wanted to love this subscription box service as I absolutely love books.... but essentially it has a lot of potential that for me, sadly, it has not yet fulfilled. I will be cancelling, but will keep an eye out for future improvements.

It’s a lovely idea and good items my…

It’s a lovely idea and good items my only niggle with it is the website and design nothing is clear, you never know until you get an email when your book is coming , not a good search engine in anyway to use. They need to invest in upgrading the website

Absolutely stunning subscription box

I have received a box from Love My Read for 3 months now and I have been blown away by the products and the customer service.

The books are beautifully curated and I’m always so excited to receive my parcel. I have the premium subscription but always find the contents a higher value than the price paid (sometimes the book alone has an RRP higher than the subscription) the little extras are delightful (for example last month was a beautiful seasonal scented candle, a really good quality refillable candle lighter and a snack, this month a sachet to make mulled wine, rituals foaming shower gel and some white chocolate). The subscription/products themselves are just lovely and I look forward to getting them every month.

The service from the team is also excellent. I had a bit of damage on a book in my first box (from postage not their fault) and there was no fuss at all, sent out a replacement straight away, quick responses and super helpful staff.

Overall, I didn’t have high hopes as most subscription boxes are overpriced and a bit naff, but Love My Read is really wonderful and I’d recommend it to anyone (and have got all my friends on it!)

Love this

Love this. Very well put together subscription service and I also bought some great books for friends and family at Christmas. Fab for gifts but a gorgeous gift for yourself too. So lovely to get back into books and the packaging is a dream.

Getting back to reading

Great company, really easy to understand website and book arrived quickly. Am loving getting back into reading. I bought the subscription as a little gift from me to me but might purchase another one for my friend as a treat.

Easy, great gift.

My daughter has been given a subscription and during lockdown it’s been so good. It’s all too easy for her to sit on the iPad but when the book comes through the letterbox with her name on it and treats she loves it! - it’s really got her into reading...and off the iPad for a day or 2!
