Avoid Lume
I really liked the design of my Lume Cube Edge Desk Light 2.0 while it worked but it failed catastrophically just a few weeks after the warranty ended. (Will no longer turn on). Lume confirm it's not repairable and will offer no further support. Pretty expensive desk light for such a short lifespan. There are a million similar products on the market from more reliable companies.
Premium price for suspect quality
Premium price for suspect quality. Lamp did not operate as intended. Customer service said warranty expired so they did not offer exchange or replacement. Fair enough, but one should expect better quality for $150 product, 5x what Ikea lamp costs. Go with Ikea instead.
Another failed Edge Light experience
I purchased 2 Edge lights in 2023. 5 months ago one failed...it would only work on dim, wouldn't brighten. Last week the other did the same. I inquired about a replacement bulb, which their chatbot informed me can't be switched out. It took a post on their FB page to respond to my support inquiry on their website. I asked about a replacement "head" for it. Told that didn't exist at this time and rep asked if I'd like a discount on a new unit. I'm awaiting an answer of how generous this discount is. I used these on average 2x weekly at about 4 hours each. At $300.00 plus Tax and SH that's a hard fail for the money with less than 3 years of part time use. It's obvious they sell the "sizzle and not the steak". I'm going with an architect's lamp that I can replace bulbs with. I'll set the Edge lights aside in case they get their crap together at a later date. Feel ripped off. Note they prominently display the 'Buyer Extended Warranty" option throughout the site...wonder WHY?
Amoung the worst customer service in the industry!
I have several lume cube products I like and use regularly over the years. But I am really, really challenged by getting attention from anyone when I have questions or issues. I’ve been trying for more than a year to get help for one product with charging issues to no avail.
No phone. Chat goes no where. E mails not answered.
The products appear to be good choices for portability etc. I use them for macro and nature photography.
But I’ve finally had it, and will no longer succumb to attractive ads. It’s clear that all their $ is going into advertising, and none is going into service
The light worked well for a year but…
The light worked well for a year but then suddenly died and the company wouldn't help.
Your advertisement are horrible
Your advertisement are horrible , put under your boob's in your butt crack ridiculous, your kids see that they ask what's that , make the advertisement tame it down
The $130 Lume Cube Failed after 4 months. No response from Lumecube
The $130 Edge Light purchased in Feb 22 stopped working Jun 22. Contacted customer service via support email and never got a response. Their warranty says they will replace defective items up to one year.
Worst experience ever.
Their customer service sucks.
My product stopped working, wrote multiple emails. They blocked me on Instagram. They delete all the negative comments there, you can see how the following numbers are fake and the engagement is pretty low.
Don't fall for their marketing.
I purchase a Edge Desk Light
I purchase a Edge Desk Light. They sent me a used light! I took forever to receive! Call customer service No Answer! Left message! No replies! Report this to the BBB.
*Will also report to my credit card company USAA! US Veteran
I have a gear problem
I have a gear problem. And because I came up working with professional great, it is hard for me to find gear that I can afford, and that meets my standards. Except that Lume Cube products do that ... And in the one case where there didn't, the excellent customer support fixed the issue with an upgrade ... They have more than earned my loyalty.
I love Lume Cube products and service
I love Lume Cube as a company! First, the products are innovative and beautifully designed. I just picked up their new Edge Light and it is just awesome. BUT, what really makes this company special is their customer support, at every level. I did have an issue with an order and it was handled quickly and professionally. I will go back again and again.
The customer service sucks
The customer service sucks. The website don't work to leave a message, they don't answer the chat. Nor do they answer the phone. I am disappointed with this service I won't recommend any buy based on that alone. Sad
I really wish I hadn't wasted my money…
I really wish I hadn't wasted my money with Lume Cube, I bought 2 LC-V2 lights and if I leave them on the shelf for more than a couple of weeks, the batteries are dead. Everyone knows that batteries should not be stored flat, so I doubt these will last very long before they are sent off to the recycle depot. Support was no use, they just denied the problem exists.
Products are Useful, Their Reputation as a Company Not So Much
As a product, I like their stuff and order from as needed. But a couple of their products were not up to standards and I written two 3-star or below reviews which apparently they don't acknowledge or post on their website. This is outright dishonesty to their customer base.
No good.
This is the oringal review I TRIED to write on LumeCubes website. However, they apparently only show 4-5 star reviews. SO DISHONEST. Which is why I knocked them down from 2 stars to 1. :)
"I ordered all three panels so I could see the differences and light quality myself. For some reason Lumecube has hundreds of images and videos of the panels and hardly any (that I could find) of the light on a subject - which is what I as a consumer most need to see. It's like they think they are selling chairs or something. They should have controlled videos of each panel lighting a subject in the same environment at the same distance wherein the light changes from warm to cool, bright to dim, etc...
I contacted customer service to get some assistance. I figured they could direct me to some videos or images that would tell me what I needed to know. They said I could "check out their YouTube channel". Um, yeah, sorry. I'm not going to spend hours combing through your channel to find out what I need to know in order to make a purchase from you. A customer should not have to work that hard.
So I bought all three. I really did not like the quality of light. It's not flattering and kind of just looks like a glorified flash light. If it's your only light source then it really looks like a glorified flash light. I found they all look best on a dim setting with an additional room light on.
The Pro has color options, which could be fun for more creative videos and filming, but it's nothing you can't create with gels. I also didn't like that it only dims to 5%. The other two dim to 1%, so why not the larger one, for which dimming would be even more important? Also, if you want to control the light with your phone, but you are recording with that same phone, it gets a little convoluted.
As objects they are really nice to hold and touch, they have a nice feel and they are very portable.
I was told that they all come ready to be clipped to a phone or computer. This is not true. You have to order a separate mount for that.
Anyway, I decided they just weren't worth the money because the quality of light they emit is just not pleasant. As someone who works in fashion and film, I can say the lighting does NOT look professional."
Customer Service
The Lume products seem to be great, but the customer service is the worst. Phone messages and emails go unanswered and no one ever cares enough to get back to you. In addition, the chat option is useless as no one is available to answer your concerns.
The Lumecube Mini is a good solid…
The Lumecube Mini is a good solid product, very happy with the light! However, I ordered a 2nd one. It says shipped, Fedex says it never got the product. "Trying" to contact customer support is impossible. eMails and phone calls go unanswered. Good product, HORRIBLE customer service!
Product is acceptable
Product is acceptable, not stellar. Customer service is horrible if you ever have to get ahold of them.
Solid product
Bought their LubeCube 2.0 (I think it is, the one with USB-C connection).
Great product so far. 100% even ligting with no hotspots. Very bright light easily adjustable either on the cube or on app.
Filters (diffuser, warmer light) work great. First time I try a light with flash-slave function (where my normal flash on camera will trigger the flash on the lumecube). But it worked every single time.
App is solid, lots of functionality and no bugs encountered.
Only thin negative is:
- I would like a protection cap to put over the cube's light. It wont ever break, but it can get scratches maybe.
- A previous other model had a magnet so you could easily hang it on a wall. This does not - and I assume there's a reason behind it.
Still a 5 star product.
Great product and team
Great product and team, they've been very supportive and customer service is on point.
