A Disappointment

I was super excited to try Lunarly- the aesthetic and concept is very much my thing. Sadly, when my box arrived I was disappointed.

The good: The plant (Polka Dot Plant, Hypoestes phyllostachya) was well packaged and in great condition. Healthy little plant. Nice information card.

The Not So Good:
The rest of the box, including the plant stand and the plant pot, felt like dollar-store finds. Each new thing I unwrapped I felt more and more like a disappointed teenager whose well-meaning grandmother who had shopped a bit too frugally. If the plant was incredible or rare I could see skimping on the rest but at this size I could have picked the plant up for about $10 at my local big-box store garden department.

I could see how this might be fun as a gift but, for myself, it did not live up to the price. The free "moon journal" on sign up was a nice touch, but not enough to make the difference.

I don't have enough disposable income or space in my home that I'm willing to waste either on low quality items. I won't be renewing at this price point. I'd consider it as a gift for a young person for perhaps $30 or less. If you're an adult with taste, don't waste your time or money. Curate your own self-care with higher quality and better personalization.

I can tell there are good folks that care on the other end of the product- this isn't their fault. It seems someone up high making the decisions cares too much about their profit margin and not enough about happy customers.
