Special Deal #1 VPS feedback for Python

I purchased a Special Deal #1 VPS in November 2023 to practice Python coding and become a programmer. I'm currently a student and need a low-cost VPS to practice and learn. A few weeks ago, I couldn't renew the service, and days later, when I visited the website, that deal was gone. Fortunately, I contacted support via ticket, and Mathias was very helpful and assisted me with the purchase. The service price remained the same, although I wish it were cheaper. So far, I'm satisfied with this VPS and LuxVPS services as I only log in on weekends, and thanks to this VPS, I'm now learning Django.

Worst Support Ever !

I paid my service before it expired but their support team didn't even read my tickets. They deleted my server ! They are not giving answer tickets until 20 hrs I regret to work with them.

1. Payment vs. Credit Top-Up
• You added credit to your account (which we had refunded after you asked for it), but that credit isn’t the same as paying the specific service invoice. The credit balance can be used to pay invoices, but does not automatically renew your VM.
• Unfortunately, your VM hit its expiry deadline because Invoice #23076 was never paid, and our system purges expired services after five days. (with multiple warnings)

2. Ticket Response Time
• I see your ticket was marked “High” priority - normally we aim to reply within 2-4 hours, but we dropped the ball here and let it sit too long. I apologize for that.

Your refund has been processed, and I’ve closed the ticket. If there’s anything else you need, please let me know.

Worst support ever

Worst support ever. They just steal your money. I had 5.95 Euro debt and I paid it. But my server did not turn on. And I paid more money again. In amount of 5.95 Euro. But it turned out they were charging money for service that they have deleted. In long story short they stole my money. And they will delete all your data if you don't pay on time. Worst hosting service ever. Btw, this is company is runned by 1 man. So what to expect? When I informed about their bug they just kicked me out of their Discord server. I was talking to LuxVPS owner and he answers based on his emotions.

Your service was terminated due to non-payment after multiple email reminders and an additional five-day grace period where your data was still available. You did not pay on time, and as a result, the system automatically removed the service as per our clear terms.

Despite this, we still refunded your payments to ensure you were not charged unnecessarily. Refunds typically take a few business days to process, depending on your bank.

Regarding your claims about a "bug" — our system does not charge for deleted services, nor does it urge users to pay for something that no longer exists. If you received an automated reminder about an old invoice, this does not mean you were charged again.

You were removed from our Discord community because of repeated violations, including false accusations, disrespectful language, and unprofessional behavior towards our team. We maintain a respectful and professional environment for our customers.

Luxvps has been serving customers for nearly 3 years, with hundreds of satisfied clients. We do not engage in fraudulent practices, and we stand by our reputation for transparent policies and customer support.

ALWAYS insists on accessing your VPS

LuxVPS is a one-man operation run by Mathias. Unfortunately, I only discovered this after becoming a customer. This raises a significant concern: if multiple servers encounter issues simultaneously, how can one individual resolve them efficiently?

Another unusual requirement of LuxVPS is that Mathias ALWAYS insists on accessing your VPS whenever there is a performance issue. Without granting him access, he refuses to address the problem. His standard response is that "his server is running fine," which does not resolve the actual performance issue.

For context, I use a Windows VPS with LuxVPS and have similar setups with other providers. When encountering slow performance issues (e.g., a 2–3 second delay for each click), my other providers typically resolve them within 30–60 minutes by tweaking their server's CPU and network configurations — all without needing access to my VPS. However, Mathias at LuxVPS insists on direct access to the client’s VPS every time.

My Setup with LuxVPS:
Configuration: 6 cores, 16GB RAM.
Observed Performance: Task Manager shows 35% CPU usage and 20% memory usage, yet there is a noticeable delay (2–3 seconds) for every typed character, making the VPS frustrating to use.

Key Considerations for Prospective LuxVPS Customers:

1) LuxVPS is a one-man operation: Mathias handles all technical and customer service issues, which can lead to delays during peak problems.

2) Mandatory VPS access: Troubleshooting requires giving Mathias direct access to your VPS, unlike many other providers who resolve server-side issues without needing this.

Today (24/Dec/2024):
LuxVPS's Mathiasis demonstrated unprofessional behavior in handling my support request. After asking me to provide a traceroute in the support ticket—which I promptly did—the next thing I discovered was that my VPS had been shut down and closed without any prior warning or notification to me as the client.

In response to LuxVPS, I simply inquired, "Could I request a refund?" However, instead of addressing my question professionally, LuxVPS abruptly removed my active VPS without notifying me as the client.

As a responsible business person or VPS provider, Mathias should have obtained my explicit confirmation before taking such a drastic step. Unfortunately, his emotionally driven reaction to receiving negative feedback led him to delete my VPS without adhering to standard business practices or proper SOP.

This unprofessional behavior caused significant inconvenience and loss for me, as the services running on the VPS were abruptly stopped, forcing me to rebuild and redo everything from scratch. This is not how a reputable business should operate.

For anyone considering VPS services from LuxVPS, I strongly advise thinking twice.

Hidden extra fees 5 Euro for mail ports unlock

After order you can see message in control panel "mail ports blocked open ticket to support", you start ticket and they ask extra 5 Euro for mail ports unblock.

No one loves hidden extra fees. They dont want you to know this before order because price too big in that case!

If you did order you got server without mail ports and you have to pay right away, and this fee is deducted right away to cover administrative costs, so you cant use it as CEO claimed for renewals or other stuff, direct lie.

Many outages

I booked a VPS almost 3 months ago, in these 3 months the VPS had an uptime of ~92%.

We're actually in the process of moving to a new datacenter.

Both outages were because of power issues at our datacenter provider, EGC. It sucks, and even though it wasn't directly our fault, I know it affected you and that's on us.

We're actually planning to move away from this datacenter by 14/09/2024. This should make our service way more reliable.

About the lack of updates - We actually do post live updates, but we'll make sure to make an extra channel/website where you can check stuff like that.

We also update our status page (https://status.luxvps.net) and our billing portal (https://billing.luxvps.net/serverstatus.php).

Our usual uptime is 99.2%, but we're always working to make that even better. When we have longer downtimes, we do give extra days of runtime to make up for it.
