Beware if buying complete bike - and be concerned about any purchase

Ordered 7/10/2025. After 9 different promised ship dates finally cancelled on 3/25/2026.

I ordered the complete bike on 7/10/2025 and Lynskey charged my credit card for 100% of the purchase price ($2900ish). Was told it would ship on or around 8/27/2025.

I emailed on 9/24/2025 asking about order. Got back email about global supply chain issues, etc. But parts are coming 10/10/2025 so bikes will ship out soon after.

Lynskey emailed on 10/23/2025 saying they are sourcing parts from other suppliers and will get me a revised ship date.

I emailed on 11/2/2025 saying that I still had not received a revised ship date. Response was filling orders as they were received - looking like it will ship in 4-5 weeks.

I emailed on 12/3/2025 asking for information on my order. Response was still working through orders and missing some parts. Working to lock in shipping dates soon - but looking like late December/early January.

I emailed on 12/23/2025 asking for update on order. Response "Based on current production status, your order is projected to be completed between January 16th and January 23rd."

I emailed on 1/30/2026 (today). Update was that it would ship 2/27/2026-3/3/2026...

Early February received information that order would definitely be going out Feb 26 - March 3.

Then email asking about status on 2/27/2026 resulted in a promised ship date of March 16 - March 20. This is now the 8th "extension" of the delivery date. Asked for them to switch from assembled bike to just sending the frame and components to see if it is any faster.

Emailed on March 20 asking for status and received "I’ve been working with the team on this and we’re getting closer to locking in a solid ship date. Your order is still moving forward—I just want to make sure that when I update you, it’s something we can actually stick to. I’m aiming to have a more concrete update for you by Wednesday (3/25) next week and will follow up as soon as I have it."

Emailed on 3/25/2026 regarding status and was told that they would need until Friday (3/27) to gather information about when my bike would ship. Told them to cancel order.

After cancelling order was told on 3/27/2026 that processing the cancelation paperwork would be 3-5 days and processing the credit card refund would be up to 15 days. Informed them that under FTC rules they had 7 working days. They

Bikes not delivered, no communication, unable to refund

I placed an order for a Lynskey Zephyr bicycle in July 2025 ($2,916) with a quoted 6-8 week ship time. Nine months later, the bike has never been delivered. Over that period I experienced repeated missed ship dates, and most of my emails and calls went entirely unanswered. They told me on two occasions that Mark Lynskey would call me to explain the delays, but that did not happen. I did get a response from a representative named Alex who promised a February 2026 ship date, which came and went without explanation. When I called to follow up, I was told Alex was no longer handling my order and that I needed to email to cancel. My cancellation email went unanswered. I am pursuing a chargeback, but unclear whether/when I will get my money back. I would strongly caution anyone considering a Lynskey order to think carefully about the company's ability to fulfill and communicate. There are many bike builders who respect their customers and communicate reliably.

Save yourself from frustration!

Just as many have said, communication is horrible and promises on ship dates go over by 3-4 months. They send you an estimate ship date when you place your order but then send you excuses when they add months. The worst experience you could ever imagine. Being in the bike building business for as long as they have, they should tell you up front what to expect ( like normal bike builders do). They just want your money in their pocket.

I order a bike in May told ship date…

I order a bike in May told ship date June, then July, then they couldn't get certain items, my main issue was NO communication from them to me. Each time I had to ask about my order. So I canceled my order, 3 times I asked when would i get a refund. Gave up asking, so I reverse charges to get my money back. Second time I ever have done it with my credit card if 45 years.

Severe Shipping Delays and Lack of Transparency - Buyer Beware

I came across this site while looking for others who have had similar experiences with Lynskey and sadly this confirms my suspicion. I ordered a complete bike from them back in March 2025 because of the 50% promotion. I received a notification that the bike will ship early May, to my disappointment since I was hoping to use the bike for an upcoming bike tour later in the month. May comes and passed and I still have not received any notification at all from Lynskey. A couple months have passed and in July I sent an email to the shipping department and also left a voicemail. After a couple weeks of emailing and calling, I received an email back from a Leslie Rowlls who is part of their shipping department. She tells me that a certain Tim Lynskey will reach out to me with details when he finds out what happened to my order. She also asks me to not cancel yet until I have heard from Tim. Her last email was July 29th and I suspect that I will not hear from Tim (if he is a real person) unless I send another follow-up or call them back. Based on the reviews I've read before me, they use the same line and mention someone from the Lynskey family themselves so we are made to think that our order gets the special treatment. I am now thinking of other actions in addition to cancelling my order, such as writing a review in BBB or lodging a complaint, or taking an idea from a previous reviewer and looking into Tennessee regulators who have oversight over this business. It is very unfortunate since this is my first time trying to buy a bike online from a US company. We spend thousands of dollars and do not even get the courtesy of being informed if our orders have shipped.

Big Problems! Read before buying

I hate complaining, but Lynskey has left me no choice. Ordered my bike on 5/30 and received an email five days later with an estimated ship date of 7/14. Later than I was anticipating, which was a disappointment. I've seen the bikes, know they are great, and I wanted to support a small family-owned company, so I accepted the wait. I didn’t hear anything by the estimated ship date. Then I made the mistake of doing a Google search to see if others were having this problem. Everyone is having this problem. I call and get someone in shipping who tells me she has no information, but Tim Lynskey will get back to me within one to two business days. I've now reached out five different times and have been told that Tim Lynskey is the only person who can help me and that he will contact me. It's been over two weeks since the estimated ship date and five days since my last correspondence with them. I still have not heard a word from Tim Lynskey about when I will receive my bike. In the meantime, my friend buys a cyclocross bike and a gravel bike with better specs from competitors and has received both bikes. The season is half over where I live. I don't have a gravel bike currently and am missing races that I signed up for thinking I'd have my bike. Seeing that these delays appear to go back many months, at the very least, Lynskey should be more upfront about the wait time before someone pays for a bike they are going to wait months to receive. I would have made a decision to go elsewhere had I known, but now they have my money. With some of the deals coming out from competitors over the last month, I kind of wish I could cancel. I'm a small business owner myself, so I appreciate that challenges can arise. But man, communicate with your customer! It doesn't matter how good your product is if you have poor communication and customer service. I'm still holding out hope that they will make this right, but my patience is starting to wear thin.

Update: I did eventually hear from Tim Lynskey with an update and received my bike today (8/31), three months after placing the order. While I think they could have done more to compensate for the significant delay, I am very happy with the bike. The communication side of things was deplorable, but the product itself is everything I could have hoped for. Therefore, I am increasing the number of stars from 1 to 4. I still think it is important that prospective customers are aware that they are going to wait 3 months or more for their bike if they are ordering an entire bike and not just a frame.

Delays and Frustration (Updated)!

7/27 Update: Received the bike albeit a day later than FedEx said, but definitely not Lynskey's fault. Other than some minor assembly with basic tools, its ready to go. I will say, the bike is sweet and above expectations. So, even though the wait was long and communication was not the best, it was worth the wait. Lynskey did indicate they are working on better communication after all this, so hopefully others do not run in to the same issue I did. In any case, wrapping up this review and happy to raise my overall rating to four stars!

7/23 Update: Received an email today indicating the bike has been shipped and due to arrive on 7/25! They hit their anticipated final ship date which is great. Waiting until I receive the bike before upping to the fourth star.

7/7 Update: Received a response from Lynskey with another estimated ship date of 7/23 (two months past the original date) and well past the "worst case scenario" date of 7/3 through 7/8. Going to raise this to two stars for now and hanging in there. Still feel like they need to cover shipping for my troubles.

7/7 Update 2: They will not cover the cost of shipping due to the already discounted price, but did offer a number of frame upgrades which is acceptable. Raising to three stars since they are doing their best to make this right.

As others have noted, delays, delays, delays and abysmal communication. Yes, I understand the Eagle 90 kit may be delayed on your end, but freaking communicate! If your not going to make your original ship date, let the customer know. I should not have to keep emailing for a dang update (and I really do not care if your short staffed or out of the office. Hire more people! This is a business your running...). If Lynskey cannot provide a new ship date by close of business tomorrow (7/7/2025), I am going to request a refund. If they try to charge me a restocking fee, I am going to open a fraud case with the Tennessee Attorney General. There is no excuse for missing deadlines without communication along with holding my money for months. These bikes are not cheap, so operate a business that is customer focused, communicates and builds a great product. If not, reviews like this are going to crush you! Can a small bike manufacturer like Lynskey really afford to lose customers over a lack in communication and negative reviews?

Will keep this updated as time goes along assuming we can work this out and depending on how Lynskey handles this situation. I am willing to hang in there, but they should at least cover the shipping cost at this point.

Be aware, they take your money up front, not when they ship the bike. So expect to have nothing in hand for potentially months. This practice along with the lack of communication and failure to deliver goods likely violates the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) which opening a case with the Tennessee AG would facilitate. Hopefully this does not escalate to that point as I want to give Lynskey a chance to redeem themselves and change this one star to a four.

Placed order on 3/31. Original shipment date was 5/23 and its now 7/6. I was promised a worst case scenario date of 7/3 through 7/8 so we will see.

Hey. Sorry for the delays on your order. We are definitely working through some delays from our parts suppliers that has held us up as well as some staff being out that pushes us back with as small of a team as we have.

The most unresponsive customer service…

The most unresponsive customer service experience. When you’re shelling out 5k+, you’d expect at least quick replies. I’ve sent multiple messages and have yet to hear back. Would absolutely not recommend. The whole thing has gone sour and I was a potential customer.

Weld cracked, but great warranty support with a new frame

The Ti frame has been great to ride, and quite comfortable even on 150 - 200km epics. I ride a mix of gravel and sealed roads, slowly over rough sections as my 65 year old wrists don't like being hammered.

However, when lubing the chain after a 58km ride on my GR300 in Feb 2024 I noticed a large crack through the weld around the right hand rear dropout. The bike had done just 16461 km since mid-March 2023, so it was disappointing.

I contacted Lynskey and there were quick to assure me that my frame would be replaced under warranty and that cracks in their frames were extremely rare.
The over $500 cost to freight the frame back to the USA hurt a bit, but they did give me an upgraded frame as compensation, with anodised decals and a brass badge for the head tube.

Lynskey were great to deal with throughout the warranty process, demonstrating they fully support their product and those who ride their bikes.

I've done over 4000km on the new frame, so I'm a happy Lynskey rider again :)

Excellent service and product

Premium quality frames with outstanding customer service I would personally like to thank deacon for his help with compatibility and any questions regarding my frame after having it sent from Chain Reaction Cycles albeit a size to small I have managed to build the bike of my dreams. I also ordered a stem shipped from America and it arrived in the United Kingdom no hassle. Very reputable company.

A really lifetime warrantee

My 18 year old Lynskey MTB finally broke a stay so I called to test the lifetime guarantee. All I had to do was give the serial number and they were ready to repair it free of charge. Wow!
In the end I opted to buy a new tailored bike with a big discount due to the above and I now have the best MTB I could dream of to roam the Indonesian wilds.
