Lyons Bowe has been rapidly responsive, giving a lot of information. Our online appointment with Rhiannon was very good, as was our interaction with other members of staff. Everyone was effective and efficient, and we would heartily recommend this firm.

Everything went smoothly and hassle free

The team I’ve had at Lyons Bowe have been fantastic. Holly at the start was super helpful, followed by Aansa who was super responsive and proactive and finishing with Amalia who was amazing at keeping me updated and chasing those last few things before exchanging contracts. Moving is super stressful but I feel so lucky I had such an amazing team. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

Communication could have been better, particularly as we neared exchange and completion. Regular updates explaining why we hadn't yet exchanged would have been appreciated.

We can’t emphasize enough to find someone else
We recently had a really frustrating experience with Lyon's Bowe Solicitors in Shepton Mallet. Trying to get a simple query resolved felt like navigating a maze – passed from person to person, each seemingly less informed than the last. The lack of clear communication was a major issue; we constantly had to chase them for updates, and it felt like pulling teeth to get any information. On top of that, they often left us in the dark when it came to dealing with the management company and the seller's solicitors, causing unnecessary worry and stress. Even on the day we were supposed to exchange, they suddenly needed another document and then went silent, leaving us in the dark all day. To make matters worse, the advice we did receive often seemed vague and not tailored to our specific situation, making us question their expertise. Honestly, we expected a much higher level of professionalism, clear guidance, and efficiency, especially considering this process has dragged on for over 9 months, even with no onward chain. And to top it off, they kept adding significant charges onto the bill, which felt completely unjustified. Seriously, if you need solicitors, We can't emphasize enough that you should find someone else.

This is my first time using a solicitor and I can honestly say that the whole experience was seamless. Using the online app made it easy for me to track the progress of my sale. Each member of the team were helpful, pleasant and patient. I even loved the little van that kept moving as each procedure was completed. Would i recommend them, yes, would I use them again, absolutely.

We are still in the process of purchasing our home, but the New Instructions Team have been very helpful. To start with there were a few communication issues with our case being passed to someone else, and what we felt like duplicate information being requested, however once we voiced this and were able to speak with a manager to clarify our needs, they were very accommodating and the process moved forward quickly and efficiently.
We are now back in a place of being excited for the next steps of our house purchase.
The app provided and forms of communication are also very clear and easy to follow for first time buyers.

As there are lots of stories about bad, sluggish and next-to-useless solicitors, Lyons Bowe contradicts that.

So far so good, a great service from Dorothy and Morgan, we have moved onto the Legal team now, I am sure the great service will continue until the sale of the house has gone through.

As first‑time buyers, we were naturally nervous about the whole process, but the team were incredibly helpful from start to finish. Everything felt smooth and well‑handled, and even when the odd thing didn’t go exactly to plan, they always went out of their way to get things sorted quickly. We genuinely felt they were doing everything they could to keep things moving for us.

Most of our communication was through email, with the occasional phone call when needed. Although they don’t always answer the phone straight away, their email responses were consistently prompt, clear, and reassuring — which actually worked really well for us and kept everything on track.

Overall, we’re really grateful for how supportive and efficient they were throughout the purchase of our first home. We’d happily recommend them to anyone going through the process.

I was purchasing a house for my son and received an excellent service from the Exchange and Completion Team, in particular Abigail Gibbs. They were regularly in contact with us and ensured the exchange and completion process went through very smoothly and with no uncertainty.

Would definitely use Lyons Bowe again. Maddie Coles dealt with our completion (selling our flat and buying another property) and she was great.

The other side solicitors were awful to get hold of, but Maddie was very communicative and fought our battles well - we barely had to lift a finger. (which, from my experience, isn’t very common with other firms!)

Maddie was friendly and very helpful when paperwork etc got confusing at points. She was a friendly, warm person to have on our side through the otherwise stressful experience of buying and selling property. We felt very lucky to have her as our legal assistant!

Once we started working with our main Conveyancing partner (Liandi Lloyd) we received great advice and guidance. She was always "on the ball", prepared for our calls (when we had them) and was confident and clear all the way through the process - including helping us work through a very unexpected event, namely submitting and receiving approval for an Adverse Possession application from the Land Registry.

I used the free wills network and did it through Twams meeting. I was very nervous but Natasha was great . After Natasha answered my questions quickly and professionally with a lot of patience as I'm such a ditherer.
Ironically the problems i had wasnt with lyons bowe it was my witnesses couldnt follow instructions but its all sorted now. Now to get on with life knowing everything is in order. Many thanks!
