I worked with Lyte on a project for a client in Midstream and had a fantastic experience. They built a custom 14-seater dining table, two four-poster beds, and installed panel walls in the bedrooms. The quality is incredible – solid, well-finished pieces that completely lifted the space.

What impressed me most was how easy they were to deal with. They listened, kept me updated, and delivered exactly what was promised. The dining table especially has become the heart of the home, and the beds + panel walls brought a real sense of luxury without being over the top.

I’d happily recommend Lyte to anyone needing custom furniture or interior details – they really do deliver on both craftsmanship and service.

Lyte Bespoke = Poor workmanship and substandard quality

Lyte Furniture advertises solid wood furniture but delivers items made from plywood and marine ply. Orders are processed on a 100% payment-before-delivery basis. However, concerns raised about the quality and workmanship are dismissed, justified under the label of a “bespoke industrial” look and feel.

The images used on their website and social media do not represent actual work but are marked as reference only, as noted in the fine print. The business does not have a physical showroom, which limits the ability to verify product quality beforehand.
I would suggest you exercise caution when dealing with Lyte Bespoke Industrial Design and its owner, Jason. I am currently pursuing legal action to address what I believe to be misleading business practices. When you share your experience on their social media platforms, they block you.

Poor workmanship, ignores calls and job is still unfinished.

What has been done is absolutely horrible and will likely have to get someone to re-do job

Jason created the most beautiful furniture - exactly what we wanted and delivered in a tight timeframe. Super happy and I just wanted to thank him and his team for going the extra mile.

The best experience I've received from any company!

Jason and his crew went out of their way to make a custom bed and pedestal set, server and tv unit. The quality is better than you can find from any top tier manufacturer out there and Jason designed everything from what I had in mind, in his own unique way!

Not only did his team deliver on time, they also dealt with my pedantic self of where to place everything and even stayed after hours to complete the installation and construction of the bed.

If I could give 100 stars to Lyte, Jason and his team I would in a heart beat. I wouldn't recommend anyone else besides Lyte.

I've been dealing with LYTE over the years and have to say that I've never been more impressed with how they have evolved. I can't think of any furniture manufacturer that offers the one on one service I have received, even when I requested a home visit as I was unsure how to use my space to its full potential. I would highly recommend the team at LYTE

We ordered over the very busy festive season and Jason went above and beyond to make sure that our furniture ( White Oak reception desk, coffee tables, darn doors, shelving units, plant stands, boardroom table and dividing screens) we delivered and installed on time ☺️

We share a building with our sister salon Bacarra, and they were so impressed with the space Jason created for us that they ordered a new reception desk that Lyte manufactured in no time at all ☺️

I am SO happy and would give them 10 stars if I could.

My girlfriend and I purchased a bed from Lyte recently and the overall result was very disappointing.

When we initially met with Jason (Owner of Lyte.co.za), we discussed the bed and how it would look. This included the colour of the wood and so forth.

During this consultation, Jason mentioned that due to the way the bed was structured my girlfriend would have a difficult time sitting on the bed due to her height. We agreed that we were happy with the "lip" design and that was that.

On the 20th of October 2021 the bed arrived. There were quite a few issues with it:

1) Be very aware that the beds are not made of solid would. The bed is made up of particle board (chipboard) and medium density fibre wood.

This directly contradicts what was stipulated on the website "grade A sustainable woods" & "All materials used in our products are of the highest quality.".

2) The bed was missing the lip that was previously discussed. Only to be told by Jason that "I think there was a misunderstand, a lip would interfere with draw mechanism under the bed".

Fair enough, but then why did he tell us that my girlfriend would have a difficult time sitting on the bed because of this lip and why was not mentioned in the consultation?

3) The board in which our mattress sits on, lies on top of the bed frame. This ruins the entire aesthetic of the bed as you can see it sticking out under the mattress and due to the board being placed ontop of the frame, the board and the mattress slide off the frame sometimes when you get into the bed.

Jason only offered an edging, grip matting for the mattress and stated that on larger beds, they cannot drop the frame to accommodate the mattress. Another thing he failed to mention in our consultation.

4) The bed just looks disappointing overall, according to Jason, the bed we saw was a bed that Lyte manufactured. This is definitely not the case, our bed was a mediocre attempt of that specific design and therefore does have the same appeal at all.

Today is the 2nd of November and I have heard nothing from Jason or Lyte regarding the edging or gripper to fix the shortcomings of this bed.

So I warn you to be very very when purchasing from Jason and the company Lyte as they do not stick to their word and blame the customer for their products shortcomings.

Another thing I would like to warn you about, is that the furniture advertised on Lyte.co.za are not items manufactured by Lyte.co.za. All the furniture on their website is sourced from media outlets such as pinterest. The only attempt mimic those designs.

The product we got compared to what is advertised on the Lyte.co.za, are vastly different in design and quality.

Overall, it was an awful experience and we not purchase from Lyte.co.za nor Jason again. We paid a large amount of money for an item of very mediocre quality.
