Ebay uk are the worst company i have tried to do businesses with as a buisness seller

Ebay uk are the worst company i have ever dealt with they take your listing down because there approved sellers worry about there sales being affected then you call them what a waste of time like a prerecorded message from script reading hollywood actors maning the phones
Now they want to take 13% of your money before you get paid out for 2 days what a joke of a company

To many erroneous sellers

With online shopping growing and the market expanding I find ebay UK are falling behind. I have been a member for 20+ years and run a successful business on there for 15+ I was proud of my 100% rate and fought hard to maintain it. Today just buying everyday items like a dressing gown, a lightbulb or electrical item you find sellers with 50+ negative rates in the last month. Its seemingly almost impossible to find a good one! There is also an epidemic of price hiking something I buy regularly that retails around £15 some sellers are charging 4 times that for one unit. In my humble opinion ebay UK needs a good clean up and I say that with vast experience.

Totally useless customer service

Sold item in good working condition. Buyer forced, broke and damaged it and they get a refund i am am left with the cost of two sets of postage, a broken item and eBay have done nothing. A total disgrace, a highly unprofessional company worth avoiding. I will be using Facebook marketplace from now on after giving eBay thousands in fees over the years.

I used to love eBay but no more

I used to love eBay but no more! It’s not to be trusted like it used to be! It used to be you could go by a sellers/buyers feedback but that doesn’t happen any more! I’m not a one for leaving neg feedback tbh but twice lately two sellers have been totally out of order! I tried so hard to work it out with them in messaging but they were totally nasty and even lied! I tried to get eBay involved but that didn’t work either! So in the end I felt I had no choice as it didn’t want these sellers hoodwinking other buyers as they’d done to me! So I left the feedback they deserved so imagine my surprise when my feedback was removed on both occasions! One of the sellers yesterday had 18 (yes eighteen) neg feedback today he has 8 neg feedback but still 100% positive feedback so how can this be? eBay were no help when I questioned them about it but beware as you can no longer go by their feedback! eBay should sort it out as I know people who have left eBay cos of this! It’s not right eBay I always believed eBay was built on trust but no more!how can we trust you or the sellers/ buyers?🤬

Ebay offering false Money Back Guarantee

It is incredible that when buying something on Ebay, you have no rights when it comes to a problem. In my case, I ordered some bedding from a producer selling direct, on the Ebay platform. However, they did not arrive, even though the tracking number showed they had been delivered, which they had not. After contacting the sender and stating the situation, they refused to help, and then refused to even answer my messages. Ebay were asked for help, and they insisted that a written letter, on headed paper was required, confirming that the package had not been delivered to me. After exhaustive investigation on my part, via my postman, eventually I was able to approach the sorting office. They confirmed, in writing, on Royal Mail headed paper, that in fact the parcel had been delivered to the wrong address, and backed this up with all their paperwork relating to the tracking, from posting to delivery, showed where and when it was delivered, along with a photograph of the address label showing it had been redirected, by them, to an address which was not mine However, when presented to Ebay, as my proof of non delivery they refused it, stating it was insufficient proof that I had not received the delivery. Ebay advertise on their site that they offer guarantee of refund if goods ordered are not as described, or not received. This is obviously a false claim, as I not only have provided all the proof possible, the refusal of a refund shows that they have no intention of fulfilling their `promise’. Ebay are unscrupulous, and are only interested in money making. In my case I have been a regular buyer on this platform for about 20 years, and this is the only time that their help has been requested, but loyalty and past custom obviously means nothing to them. What a ruthless company they are, unbelievable.

A den of thieves

Purchased an item which was unsafe and returned to seller as he provided a prepaid lable when I threated to go to Trading Standards. The parcel was recieved by the seller by the tracking info. He just kept stalling so intiated ebay returns and they said it would looked on and they would step in on May 5th if I had not heard. I sent them all the info. Seller obvioulsy played for time and on April 7th ebay just sent me a email saying return was closed as seller hadnt accpted the return when I have evidence he di and he took my money and got his item back. No way of contacting ebay via phone and there once they have decided that is the Law! What a bunch of thieves and in collusion with other crooks. Happy to take your money but when the **** hits the fan they renege and say not us guv!

eBay's games

I ordered my item on the 27th.03 and estimated delivery date by the 12th.04 =16days bloody long when I live only 70 miles away from Basildon/London more like it coming from China again. Tracking given by seller just another mess only started to work once the item arrived in the UK. Contacting the seller is definitely via China so is the seller registered on eBay and breaking the rules after reporting the seller to eBay nothing was done about it, the norm.
My item arrived after five days by Yodel but the currier told me at my door we got your parcel but we do not have it? What that means is nothing left of the parcel and items gone missing and it been signed of as refused and it shows on the tracking via Bay.
I went on my eBay account to escalate as not received but in my case it does not let you until 13th.04 so got in touch with eBay and explained the situation but all I got was how to escalate it further but they did not understand on purpose the part I need to wait until the 13th.04 and they just ignored it completely. I have to wait until the 13th.04. and they will give me another five + days before it can be escalated what makes no sense what so ever when the got the proof in the tracking what eBay uses for payments. Just another of eBay's games.

I bought a Samsung phone that I did not…

I bought a Samsung phone that I did not know at the time was not a EU Samsung phone. It developed problems. It was in Warranty but Samsung would not touch because of the region it came from. I emailed the seller and got not response.
Tried contacting eBay only to be put through the hoops. I was taking around and around in circles on their website. They are happy to take your money but They are NOT contactable when you have problems.. In the end after trying many many times I gave up. I feel very disrespected with and taken for a fool with this process.
I have used EBay for years but not any more.
I will stick to Amazon. I know I will get help when there is a problem. If you know what I know you would do the same.

Been using eBay for 6+ years - great service!

I have been using eBay for 6+ years and know it like the back of my hand. I believe about 99% of my purchases on eBay were great and only with that 1% did I need to raise a case on the seller, for which eBay were always fair and gave me my money back. The app is very well made and it's a great service, just always look at the seller rating! I only buy from sellers with 99% or higher and where possible only buy from sellers in the UK.

Laden with crooked scammers and dealers

In my experience so many of the secondhand sellers and tax dodging dealers on this site are the most vile, the most obnoxious and the most greedy people that ever crawled out from under a stone. They really are the dregs of humanity. The low of the low who will use every lie, every trick, and every possible way to scam and cheat. And when problems arise for goods not as described it’s not unknown that true to their form and class they then become abusive, threatening and very violent.

Ebay itself with its system of hidden fake auction bidding and special customer service departments runs commensurate to the types of fraudsters and crooks who trade on it.

And if the ebay corp were on fire i would happily stand there and fan the flames to ensure it burnt to the ground. Fully, totally and completely.

REVIEWING AS A SELLER

REVIEWING AS A SELLER

I have been trying to sell some items on ebay, i have 100 to sell. As a new account I am only allowed to sell 10 items, i understand that as a new starter.

Having waited for 3/4 months for something to happen, it got barely no attention. I got a friend to purchase one of the items just to get some good feedback logged against the account.

I waited longer and still nothing happened. I got someone I know to try and search for my listing, after clicking 'next' through the pages, they gave up looking for mine after page 20.

It is clear when you search on Ebay, the top results are flooded with sponsored listings - which again is fair enough - if i had paid for promotions I would expect mine to be at the top also. I didn't even expect my listing to be anywhere near the top, but to not even be able to find it is terrible. I understand there are so many sellers and it is very competitive so again I will try to do everything in my power to raise attention.

I have since lowered the price of the listing so many times it will only just make profit, and is now barely even worth doing. My advert is pretty much the lowest cost listings in the category and it still gets no attention.

I then thought to try and get a promotion running myself as was desparate at this stage. I then found i am unable to run a promotion until I sell more items.

So now you will see my issue - I need to sell more items before i can run a promotion, but I am unable to sell items unless i run a promotion. SO I am just stuck. I did try to contact support but all they did was confirm this. So basically there is 0 support on new starting accounts and 0 leniancy.

Thanks Ebay for physically not letting new sellers sell.

EBAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE & SELLER FEES

I am absolutely appalled and disgusted over the way Ebay now allows buyers to exploit the 'Money Back Guarantee' system for items they claim are "Not As Described" in the listing etc. These reasons are now frequently being used to scam sellers into refunding payments that buyers are not entitled to have because the items sold were as described. From my experience and the experiences of other honest sellers, Ebay clearly overrides the rights of sellers in favour of buyers. This is a disgrace given how much commission Ebay now make on the back of sellers. Despite numerous online chat messages to Ebay Resolution Centre, to complain about unscrupulous buyers, I am constantly given 'lip service' about how sorry Ebay are to hear of my concerns without providing me with any actual evidence of doing anything to resolve my grievances. Once my latest claim for a refund has now been resolved by another dissatisfied buyer, then I intend to shut down my Ebay account for good.

The hypocrisy of Ebay was that I could relist the item on return once I received it back, despite Ebay upholding the buyer's claim and compelling me to make a refund.

Sellers now really need to be aware that they risk being left financially out of pocket, due to Ebay compelling them to refund buyers in accordance with their 'Money Back Guarantee' policy and thus having to pay additional postage costs to receive their unwanted item back from the buyer.

I would seriously urge anyone considering setting up an Ebay account to weigh up the risk of selling, against the risk of being financially left out of pocket due to 'Buyers Rights'.

**NEW NOTE - Refund of Seller Fees**

Following Ebay's compulsion that I refund a buyer who claimed that a designer item sold to her was "Not As Described", despite my listing description and photographic evidence that supported my listing, I attempted several times to refund the buyer the same day using Ebay's new Payment Method, since they severed their contract ties with PayPal.

As I was completely unable to make the transaction to the buyer due to technical problems on Ebay's portal system, I contacted Ebay Accounts to assist me and to request they refund the buyer on my behalf and later debit the payment from my account. After being transferred many times to different clerks I was eventually told the refund would be made by Ebay and my account debited. Great....end of story so I thought !!

I subsequently received an email from Ebay stating that they would be stepping in to refund the buyer because I did not. This email suggested I simply refused to refund the buyer. Feeling absolutely livid, I again rang Ebay Accounts and after being transferred again to several clerks, I spoke to a representative and I was told that a note would be made on file about my dispute. Hoping this would be the end of the matter, I was disappointed to find it was not.

I received an email from Ebay - 'Closing Case Summary' which stated that Ebay found in favour of the buyer and that I (seller) again did not refund the buyer and as a result Ebay had to intervene. I immediately telephoned Ebay Resolution to challenge this factually incorrect and misleading information, given that this document will be placed on my sellers file. I was told it was a standard generated letter. I then emailed Ebay to request this "generated letter" be amended to accurately reflect what I did do, rather than it serve to portray Ebay in a more favourable light to support their case for accepting the buyer's request for a refund and for compelling me to honour it. I am waiting for ebay to respond to me in writing.

Today I noticed that Ebay had still not processed my seller fees considering the buyer was refunded. I rang Ebay Accounts and I was told my fees would not be refunded because Ebay had to intervene to refund the buyer because I would not !! I immediately complained and was then transferred to several more clerks before I eventually spoke to a more senior staff member. My case was reviewed and my complaint acknowledged. I was told a clerk had made an error regarding my Ebay fees issue and that I would be refunded due to the fact that I had attempted to refund the buyer. Currently my seller fees are being processed to my account.

The moral of this case for any Ebay seller, is to absolutely scrutinise every document they receive from Ebay for any false statements that is a damage to their credibility, and to challenge this with Ebay to seek redress. Also to dispute, however exhausting it is, any financial discrepancies regarding their seller fees. DO NOT let Ebay financially benefit any more from you by compelling you to accept unwarranted refunds from buyers who misuse the 'Money Back Guarantee' system, that will leave you making a loss, given how much commission Ebay they take from your sold items.

DON'T USE EBAY ! ACCOUNT  PERMANENTLY SUSPENDED WITHOUT ANY WARNIG !

DON'T USE EBAY! THEY CAN PERMANENTLY SUSPENDED YOUR ACCOUNT FOR LIFE FOR NO REASON AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING!
I was a reputable eBay member for the last 16 years.. always honest to other buyers and sellers hence my feedback score same as my selling performance was 100% all the time. After 16 years my account became permanently suspended without any warning, eBay decided I no longer deserve to have my account or to create any in the future due to my so called "activity pattern.." No explanation or chance to explain what activities, and what's happened, you don't even get any chance to appeal. That's it.
You are banned for life, just like that..
From now I can't sell anything, can't buy anything, and the only reason the account is still live is that eBay needs to collect any selling fee charges..
I contacted eBay, there is nothing they can do about it.. and their decision is final..
- really eBay...?!
This is how eBay treats it's loyal members and custommers..
After researching for similar cases I found there is many more people being treated the same way by this rubbish company.
People please beware!
STAY AWAY FROM EBAY!
It's not the same company as it once was..

Ebay are holding your money!

Ebay have recently changed payment arrangements which negatively impacts sellers. On Saturday I sold 3 separate items and the buyers paid immediately by PayPal. In the recent past the money would have appeared immediately in my PayPal account which I could if I wished transfer to my bank account (and confidently post the sold items). Now the buyer pays (by PayPal) and the money is transferred to EBAY who hold it for up to 4 days! 2 days have past since I sold my items, the buyers paid and reasonably expect me to post the goods but I still have no money! This is totally unacceptable! Ebay have "guaranteed" they don't hold sellers ($$$$$ millions) in interest bearing accounts! Anyone believe that?!
