Read reviews before you buy a car from any dealer and make the right choice! Learnt my lesson!

Bought a car from this company and within 10 days I had a sensor light come up, warranty is a waste of space they need to list what they do actually cover because it’s not a lot! Continuous lights in my dashboard, drivetrain light new hose needed, knocking sounds tensioner pin was bent because the auxiliary belt was shredded and the mechanic I used said it wasn’t put in properly in the first place! Oil light came on so a service was needed as they only gave me 6mths mot and no service before it was sold. Most places do a full 12 months for both( the new car I bought from a decent dealer has done that). I could not drive the car because of a knocking sound, again back in November ha the crankshaft pulley was knackered! So nearly £900 later I am left with a piece of 💩 that I’m still paying for as apparently because I paid for the repairs myself (as warranty class them as wear and tear and won’t cover them) it can’t be rejected, so I need the car for everyday life and getting about work, kids dance classes etc so that was my fault?! Messaged the dealer when all this started and had no reply. Avoid buying from here else you may aswell open your window and chuck £10 notes out the window! I now have stress and anxiety getting in my newer car because of this as I listen for every sound and wait for lights to flash up and hate driving too far now in my newer car because this car gave me so much anxiety! This experience totally destroyed my confidence in driving or going anywhere in a vehicle. Please read reviews of car dealers before you go, I wish I had!

Fantastic car dealership!

Fantastic car dealership- I always buy and trade in my cars here! The staff are lovely and put no pressure on you whatsoever to purchase anything- it’s a nice and relaxed buying experience. Anytime I wish to buy a car, I always approach them first and see what they have available. I also like to part-exchange my vehicles with them and use the equity towards my new car. Overall, an amazing buying experience every time I purchase from them. Thank you very much! I would highly recommend them to other customers.

Avoid, not worth your time and money.

Welcome to potentially the worst dealership I’ve ever come across. My family and I purchased a used Audi A6 (K13HRJ) back on the 21st of January 2025 from M5 motors and had issues ever since.

After four days of having the vehicle the check engine light came up; we took the car to a mechanic and got a diagnostic done (which M5 motors was supposed to pay for) and was informed that the issue could be nothing but could also be priced in the thousands.

The DPF filter was the issue so I got back in touch with the dealership, explained the problem and was advised to essentially drive on the motorway to try and ‘clear’ the filter.

We drove said vehicle from the dealership in Birmingham to Manchester the day we purchased it, and then an additional over 100 miles on the motorway after talking with the dealership; and the next day the same issue showed up on the dashboard.

At this point we were fed up as we wanted a functional car, so I called the dealership and informed them I was going to return the car. The response I was greeted with was “Oooh I’ll have to ask the boss”. No babe, the practices that you’ve got going on are highly illegal and someone needs to look into them.

The dealership then proceeded to refuse to give us our money back because we didn’t have the logbook. We dropped off the car and two sets of keys on the 3rd of February (had the car for less than 2 weeks) and was “promised” that a partial payment would be made in an ‘hour’ as we needed another vehicle asap. We had to call the dealership every 30 minutes to ask when is the payment going to be made as we were waiting on another vehicle; the dealership then blocked my number. Even though you owed us money, the wise choice was to block the customer rather than returning the money.

After several hours a partial payment was finally made; we then sent the dealership a letter stating they had 14 days to pay the remaining balance.

To make matters worse, the man who works there was waffling on about making some ‘deductions’ from the purchase price, because we allegedly put miles on the vehicle and added another owner; the same man who claimed he had ‘solicitors’ on standby; well if you did pookie, they would be able to tell you that what you’re doing is wrong sweetheart.

I had also contacted the DVLA to explain the situation to them regarding the logbook; the dvla said to send the logbook back to them when we receive, it and everything will be dealt with by them. That the driver will be removed from the logbook and it will be retuned to the dealership.

On the 14th of February the dealership gets in contact with us AGAIN to talk absolutely Bologna. Just because they’re a ‘dealership’ and claim to ‘know’ what they’re doing, unfortunately they’re a bunch of clueless slugs. The man claimed to have called the DVLA and stated that I was supposed to just return the logbook back to him. Let’s put our thinking caps on next time, if you properly explained the situation to the DVLA they would’ve told you the exact thing they told me. That the logbook will be retuned to the dealership by the DVLA and that keeping someone’s money hostage because you don’t have the logbook is highly illegal. On the 14th of February, we had to send yet another letter threatening to proceed with court action.

Finally, war came to an end on the 21st of February when they returned the remaining balance. Clownery if you ask me.

Anyway, to wrap it up don’t purchase a vehicle here unless you enjoy making your life difficult & like it when people keep your money hostage; as dealerships like this prey on the vulnerable whom are less knowledgeable about cars and the law.

5 star service

Imran was very supportive during the process of buying the car. There was no pressure to buy after the test drive and I could take as much time as I needed. Highly recommend.

Do not buy a car from this company

Do not buy a car from this company! We had a similar experience regarding the deposit. We paid £250 to ‘view’ a car which we were buying for our 17 year old who had recently passed his test. On viewing the car, we noticed that there had been some repairs to the front and back wings. They claimed not to have noticed the poor repair job and refused to refund our deposit. We have written to the company, but unsurprisingly we have received no response. Interestingly, one of the good reviews is written by one of the Directors!!!!!!!!!!

M5 Motors - Stay away from this garage...

M5 Motors - Based in West Bromwich - Only gave the garage one star because you cant give it none! Drove for 2 hours to look at a car - my daughter fell in love with it and we left a £250 deposit which I got the owner to write on the receipt was refundable once we got the AA to check the car over...he was reluctant to do this but did..The AA inspected the car and found 4 major faults and several minor faults - the owner wouldnt even let the AA take it out for a test drive - probably cause he knew it was dangerous. I phoned the garage and told the owner I would like my deposit back - OMG he told me he had expenses to and they dont normally give deposits back - this was after he tried to sell me a very faulty car! He agreed to give me the money back but still hasnt 4 days later and now does not respond to my texts ...Please please stay away from this company - I will not let this lie and have been on contact with trading standards and will take legal action if he doesnt repay the deposit...
