Student Support
For the past year my son, who has medicated ADHD, has been a student at this college, attending the White's Academy on the City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Culinary Skills.
As a part of this course he was required to find 40 hours experience in a catering establishment, he submitted over 200 CVs to various local establishments without success. He informed his course tutor that he was experiencing difficulty getting the required experience, no support was give , the college did not even review his CV. He achieved a Pass certificate.
There was absolutely no careers advice or help in completing applications to further education establishments not advice on how to fund on going education ie applying for grants, bursaries or scholarships.
I find it completely unacceptable that a So Called Further Education Establishment does not provide these services to all students much less students with documented SENs.
