I am local bus driver and occasionally we have to layover on castle street for 20 minutes. This happened 16th May 2024 at approx 8pm. As human beings sometimes we get caught short and very limited places you can use the toilets whilst waiting at that bus stop. On a few occasions I have asked politely if I can use the toilet. The staff have always been great and I did the same tonight. There was a young gentleman serving and an older gentleman behind the bar that was busy when I went in. I asked the young gentlemen is it ok to use the toilet really quick to he said of course you can man no problem. I came out of the toilet the young man was somewhere else doing something and the grey haired man said abruptly are you buying a drink? I said no I am sorry I am driving I am a bus driver. He said this is not a public toilet don't come in here again. I said excuse me I asked the young man and he said it was ok. He said well I would have said no as he should not have said that. I thought he was very rude and I have been there many times and been grateful for their assistance. I do not know if he was the owner or whether he was just a rude employee I am hoping he is not the boss and the owner is one of the nice staff I have met before. I was stunned by his unkindness and likely someone unhappy in his job rather than just unhappy with me.
