We use the MailJet system to send emails integrated into our cash register system. Everything is possible via API, which has allowed us to set up a highly efficient system.

What's more, in the event of an anomaly, people like Mihael Iliev respond very quickly and resolve any issues.

Clean interface, impressive client support, but quite a few bugs

I’d like to highlight the quality of Théo’s customer service, which has been exemplary throughout our exchanges. He has been honest, transparent, and genuinely human in his communication, even when immediate solutions weren’t available. He never tried to oversell or gloss over the situation, and that level of clarity and integrity is truly appreciated.

That said, our disappointment lies with the Mailjet editor itself. While easy to use, we’ve encountered a number of bugs, and fixes have been slow to arrive, which is understandably frustrating — especially as we have to take extra measures and steps to ensure proper presentation of our email campaigns.

While this has impacted our experience with the product, Théo has handled the situation with professionalism, always keeping us in the loop as to where they're at.

He’s a real asset on the customer side, and his approach goes a long way in maintaining trust, even when the product still needs improvement — which is why we'll stick with Mailjet for the time being in hopes that the bugs are quickly resolved.

Setting bounce path

Appreciate a lot quick response from Mihael and patience even if I had entered bad DNS-setting that prevented us the get over the first step. Also positive and forward getting attitude, great work! Now I am sure our marketing will be a bit better with working SPF/DKIM/DMARC-settings.

Fast, knowledgeable support — issue solved

I had a frustrating issue where my app showed emails as “accepted by Mailjet” but nothing was being received. Support responded quickly and pinpointed the real cause: sender/domain validation is done per API key (and sub-account), so validation on the primary key didn’t apply to the sub-account key my app was using.

They gave clear, step-by-step instructions to validate the sender in the correct sub-account and also suggested alternatives (use the primary key or validate the whole domain). After that, delivery worked immediately. Fast, clear, and genuinely helpful.

Long time User hit with 4x price increase per email, no solution offered

We have been a long time and happy Mailjet customer, mainly using the API for transactional and system generated emails. The service itself has always been reliable, which is exactly why we stayed for years.

Recently, Mailjet discontinued an old plan we were on and moved us to a new one. While plan changes over time are understandable, the practical outcome was that we now pay roughly double while being allowed to send only half the number of emails. This means the price per sent email increased by about four times, without any added value for our use case.

We do not need AI copy tools, templates, or marketing features. We simply use Mailjet as an API driven email infrastructure. Unfortunately, this was not taken into account at all.

After multiple conversations with both support and sales, the final response was that there are “no other options” unless we move to a custom plan starting at around $5k per year. No attempt was made to find a reasonable middle ground or a solution that respects long time customers.
To put it in perspective: imagine your cloud or infrastructure costs suddenly increasing 4x overnight. That is how this change feels on the customer side.

It is disappointing to see a company with an otherwise solid product handle loyal customers this way. We were happy users and would have liked to continue, but this experience makes that very difficult to justify.

Update after Mailjet response:

Mailjet responded by stating that the new plans provide improved features and increased flexibility. Unfortunately, this is not the case for us and it does not resolve the core issue, namely a four times increase in the price per sent email.

For our use case, simple transactional emails sent via the API, the new plans do not offer meaningful flexibility in pricing. The cost per sent email remains roughly four times higher than before, with no option to align pricing with actual usage.

We genuinely want to continue using Mailjet, but without a reasonable option that keeps the cost per email comparable to what long term customers previously had, this is difficult to justify. As a result, we will start looking at alternatives.

If I could give zero stars I would...

This is such a terrible company. When I made my account with my company email I made a mistake in my email. Well, I thought I could easily change this in my profile settings, but no. They removed this option. Then I started looking for customer support so I could manually change my issue. No number to be found anywhere and their contact email in the account section is hidden for people with Enterprise subscription (apparently). So I have to upgrade to get in contact. (Un)fortunately I later found a contact form on the website. Filled that in with my issue and got a response from them by email.

Fast forward 11 days after first response from them and getting automated responses where I'm trying to explain my situation and what is happening. No solution yet..

Absolute worst customer service I've ever seen. Just don't seem to care.

That's definitely (half) a shame

That's definitely a shame, Mailjet offer a "Free" plan that I tried to use to kickstart a business but they just did close my account for "undisclosed" reasons...

One sure thing is that if the business starts and scale I'll ensure not to use it at any moment and will also spread the word.

That's insane, not even a reason given...

EDIT: After that rating, customer support reached out to me and we finally got a solution, it has been opened to me under conditions. I'm a bit frustrated by the lack of communication and the radical account closing preventing me to give more than 3 stars for now.
