Do not research the companies they represent
Do not fully understand Mainstar's role in all of the investments but I do not feel they do proper research and are a clearing house for many companies both good and BAD. I have an investment where they are the face of my interaction with a company that has now filed for bankruptcy, and they have no information to share about my investment.

We are not allowed to provide any type of investment advice from a regulatory standpoint. We are not involved in selling investments, just in providing custody services. Thank you for being a customer.
It was not an easy experience
It was not an easy experience. I was doing two new accounts at once, one with Mainstar and one with Advanta. I did not know they were connected. Somehow they got the accounts mixed up. I was charged a $135 fee which Phoenix Capital was to pick up. It took a month to get the account settled.

I reached out regarding setting up a tradional IRA with some of my private company stocks and I had no idea how to do this process. Jo Lynn Barnes was wonderful about taking time out of her busy day to walk me through step by step to make sure I understood the process ahead. All the other staff at Mainstar really worked on getting this process completed on my company's time frame.
