Excellent products and great customer service
I have been ordering bird food from Maltbys for quite some time and have been impressed with their customer service. Ordering is easy on the website and an acknowledgement email is received within an hour. Despatch is usually the same day and delivery within a couple of days. On the rare occasion that an incorrect product was delivered (only twice in many years) a phone call or email has resulted in the correct item being despatched immediately without having to return the other product. To say I'm amazed at the bad reviews on here is an understatement and certainly they do not reflect my experience with the company.

I am being pestered by nuisance msgs from a delivery company delivered to my landline phone. The msgs state they are on behalf of Maltbys.
I HAVE NOT ORDERED ROM `THEM. I assume the order is for someone else and there has been a mistake at somepoint with my telephone number being inadvertently inserted.
I rang them but got a voice msg saying their mailbox is full.
The ringing of my phone has got to the point where I have had to disconnect because it just keeps ringing with msgs on `their behalf.
Dog treats infested with bugs
Recently purchased Beef Testicles dog treats from them. The pack arrived with product eaten by some small bugs that were still crawling around inside the package! This is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. The package was sealed so this did not happen during the delivery.
Excellent company and value for money
I've ordered from Maltbys many times and I find them reliable, good value for money, and quick delivery. I will continue to use this company. I had a problem with delivery (Amazon) recently and Maltbys resolved it quickly.

Advised here by 1st May. I accept that today's only the 2nd of May ..my concern is both emails have been returned saying there in box is full and no one is answering the phone.

Placed my first order with this company for beef achilles tendons. The order arrived in good time and the product was as expected. Based on that experience I subsequently placed a second order and received a product which was certainly not the achilles tendons ordered.
Following 2 emails sent via Maltbys website, a third email was sent via the eBay platform. Despite providing a photo which clearly shows the difference in product. I received an inane response saying that natural products will not be consistent. Being a long term customer of purchasing natural products I am well aware that there will not be uniformity nor consistency. However, the difference between the two orders was obvious. The second order was NOT achilles tendons which, I might add, are quite costly.
The final response from this company was to suggest I commence a returns process via Ebay. I won't bother. The order has been disposed of.
I suspect that this sort of practice is common. Provide a correct order but provide sub standard and cheap products thereafter. Buyer beware.

Not sure why the bad reviews…I’ve used Maltbys enough times. Super efficient, fast, no mistakes, great price. One of my more reliable go to for repeat buys.
Totally unsatisfactory.
The product I ordered was not what I expected. I contacted Maltbys via their website form the day it was delivered & fully explained my concerns.
No reply.
4 days later, I emailed them & asked them to look at the online complaint I had made & respond to it.
No reply.
13 days later, 2nd March, I again emailed them to ask one more time for a response or I would leave a 1* review on Trustpilot.
No reply.
I'm done waiting now. Here is my 1* review.
And I'm stuck with a £15.99 product I won't use.
I have used Maltbys before, in 2021. Product & service was fine.
But something has gone seriously wrong since then & it's a big shame for a long-standing family firm.

I now have to get advice on how to settle this Once and for all.

Appalling and unreliable service from Maltbys'
My wife and I, in our 80's have been buying from Maltbys' for several years. We spend up to £100 pcm on wlldlife food, mealworms,, peanuts, peanut in shells etc. In November 2024 our order for mealworms was delivered over 7 days later than the promised delivery date. We complained and got a half-hearted apology which blamed their couriers. On 14 December we ordered peanuts in shells @ over £32. Delivery would be 16/17 December we were assured. As of 28 December nothing has been delivered, despite various emails from me asking what the hell was going on. Yesterday we were asked to fill in a customer survey on our delivery WHICH HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED. We suspect that Maltbys' are now using courier services such as Evri which have appalling customer service reviews,,, because clearly services and standards have gone through the floor. Customer services now appear to be words on paper rather than the reality. How sad. We have now had to order, as a matter of urgency from another supplier and been advised that we cannot cancel our order of 14 December, promised by 16/17 December as the order has been despatched and is in transit. Another website indicates that this product is actually out of stock. Meanwhile a complete silence from Maltbys' and a robotic response. Alan Grant
Not a good product …
I have previously bought coconut fat bird feeders from Maltbys and been very happy with them. So have also bought their fish cubes and fish fingers for our dogs. Once again happy with the products...but not this last time. The fingers were slimy, greasy, grey and had a different odour to previously purchased fingers. Quite horrid. I wrote to them and received no response, so kept ringing and eventually spoke to a lady. She offered no apology or reasons why this product was so unsatisfactory but would give me a refund. That was as it should be but and I did appreciate that, but when I pushed for what was wrong and I would like to know, she was extremely negative and very poor attitude. This product was not acceptable and something was very wrong with it. So please be wary of ordering, I won't be purchasing again from them.

Been using them for 3+ years, absolutely terrific value & service. They are my main supplier of bird-food etc & I'm sure will remain so.

Terrible customer service.
I have purchased a couple of natural treats boxes from this company, the "Pooch box" and the "Beefy Box" I purchased the both boxes from Amazon as 2 seperate orders. Unfortunately the "Beefy box" caused my dog to have diarrhea and vomit. However had no issues with the "Pooch box". We wanted to try a different box because my dog loved the first one. I contacted Maltbys explaining my concerns and asked if they'd offer an exchange or a partial refund so that I could purchase the "Pooch box" again. £20 was a lot of money to me, to then be disposed of into the bin. Maltbys response was to blame my dog, claiming that she isn't used to natural treats, which is an absolute poor response and not fair, despite explaining that we have always fed her natural treats and had previously purchased the "Pooch box" from them. They closed our case so we contacted Amazon who were apologetic and refunded us. I tired to leave a review but the company rejected it/deleted it. Terrible company and terrible customer service. They lost themselves what would of been a regular customer.

Absolutely brilliant! Great customer service. Just best you can imagine. Ordered special dog food. One I received had only 3 weeks left on date. Only couple of hours after my email about my disappointment, I've got even more than originaly ordered on the way to me. Received it next day!
