We purchased a used Volvo XC90 (5 years old) from Manamanx in Aldermaston. While the vehicle initially appeared to be in good condition, after seeking a second opinion from Volvo representatives, several faults were identified, along with a crack in the windscreen. This raised serious concerns that the car had not been properly tested or inspected prior to sale. After a number of contradictions and discussions, the dealership eventually agreed to carry out repairs.
However, they kept the vehicle for more than two weeks and provided a replacement car that was, in our view, unsafe to drive (very loud noises when driving, especially when turning the wheel).
When our vehicle was returned, one of the mirror casings was damaged. We did not notice this at the time of delivery, but after about a week, when the mirror folded, it began to damage the door. The dealership denied responsibility, but the damage is consistent with someone attempting to open or repair it. The mirror heating sensor had a fault, and the surrounding plastic now appears to have been damaged during the repair or replacement process. They also refused to provide any inspection or testing reports.
After four months, the oil pump failed, adding to the growing list of issues. This time, we had to go through the warranty package that was sold to us. We will see whether this proves to be genuine or just another unnecessary add-on (an update will be provided).
One important point for potential customers: Manamanx previously traded under a different company name (Sascron). I strongly recommend reading reviews for both names before deciding whether to buy from them, as this provides a more complete picture of their history and customer feedback.
In summary, while the car initially appeared to be good value, the overall experience has been extremely disappointing. The sales tactics were high-pressure, and the post-sale issues have been significant. When these problems were raised, the response we received was: “You bought a second-hand car—what do you expect?” We have owned used cars before and have never experienced this level of issues or lack of accountability from a dealer.
We do not recommend Manamanx.
Great customer service from Simon, delighted with the new car and everything was explained very clearly and professionally. Highly recommend
excellent service, would highly recommend to family and friends.
the process of buying a car was done very smoothly with care and patience.
Simon was very helpful and informative in helping us through the buying process. I would buy from Manamanx again
Excellent customer service from Simon when purchasing new vehicle. Everything explained very well.
Update: we have since had an independent garage look at the car and have found it has major suspension problems so we will be contacting Manamanx to find a resolution as we only bought the car 3 weeks ago.
The car seems fine (so far), but the sales process was extremely uncomfortable
I recently purchased a used Tesla Model Y from Manamanx in Aldermaston. While the vehicle itself was in good condition, the sales experience was one of the most uncomfortable and high‑pressure encounters I’ve had when buying a car.
From the outset, the focus was not on the vehicle but on selling me a £900 warranty and several optional add‑on packages. I declined these repeatedly, yet the pressure continued for well over an hour. At one point I was told I could not test drive the car unless I agreed to buy one of their packages first, which I found highly inappropriate. I was also given inflated examples of repair costs to justify the warranty, including a claim that the internal screen would cost around £7,000 to replace, which I later confirmed was significantly overstated.
I was further informed that unless I paid an additional £199 for a “preparation package,” I would not be provided with a copy of the AA inspection report. This was presented as a take‑it‑or‑leave‑it condition. After several hours of pressure, I reluctantly agreed to a reduced‑price warranty simply to complete the purchase and leave.
The collection experience a few days later was smoother, but only because I had already emailed to decline the warranty and clarified everything in writing beforehand where they again tried to sell me something I had already said no to 5/6 times at this point. Moreover, I later discovered that the charging cable supplied with the vehicle did not work. As a result, I had to drive back to the dealership — a one‑hour journey each way — to obtain a working replacement.
One important point for potential customers: Manamanx previously traded under a different company name (Sascron). I strongly recommend reading reviews for both names before deciding whether to buy from them, as this provides a more complete picture of their history and customer feedback.
In summary, the car itself was good value, but the sales tactics were extremely high‑pressure and made the process far more stressful than necessary. If you choose to buy from this dealership, be prepared for very strong upselling of extras you may not need, and make sure you research the warranty provider and the company’s previous trading name before signing anything.
I bought a Model Y from Manamax last week and collected it on Saturday. I have had a very good experience so far. I struck a deal for a Tesla Model Y, and I also paid for a full AA inspection. I dealt with Simon who was knowledgeable and very helpful. He mentioned when I viewed the car, it was requiring some prep work which was agreed on the deal, and the car on collection was really lovely and all of things I had asked for had been taken care of and the car was ready to go with a few extras being done at no cost to me. I felt like Simon wanted to make sure I had a good experience with Manamanx, and I can’t fault them really for the customer service. I’ve only had the car a few days, and time will tell, but so far, I can only give 5 stars and will recommend them to friends and family. Thanks Simon.
One star is too much
Don't touch this company. After a test drive we bought a used Mercedes C class. The sales person was extraordinarily patronising to me (as a woman) and kept sticking lots of different numbers in front of me with different values for the car we wanted to trade.
After we got the Mercedes home - having had to go to a post office because the V5 wasn't available - costing us £25 - we discovered two issues which should have been resolved by the inpection between purchase and collection. These were going to cost at least £500 to rectify.
I emailed the salesman about the issues with phtographs, a receipt from the post office and bank account details to reclaim our £25, all in a zipped folder. I know he opened the folder because the £25 was credited to the account. So far - four weeks later - no acknowledgement even.
I took a car I Iiked for a test drive having waited for 20 minutes to find the car despite having booked an appointment . Very happy with the car, went upstairs to pay for it, only to be told, that if I wanted the car checked, and the minimum warranty of 1 year I would have to pay in excess of 1000 pounds more than the windscreen price. Sadly I had to walk away. Previously I bought a Mercedes from a Thatcham dealer, I paid the windscreen price, was presented with a comprehensive check list that had been done along with a service and given a free 3 month warranty, which is long enough to find any major faults. Very disappointing experience overall
Outstanding service, from the first call to book an appointment to driving the car away.
Dealt with Simon who was faultless. Explained everything in detail and was very very thorough.
This was by far and away the easiest and smoothest journey to buying a car I’ve ever had.
Many thanks Simon.
My husband saw a car he liked on AdTrader. We rang Manamanx Ltd to make an appointment and Issac Crouch, Car Sales Executive answered the call and made us an appointment.
From the minute we arrived Issac looked after us throughout the car purchase. He was a very knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful Salesman. Not pushy at all. Issac made the whole process of car purchase very enjoyable. He obviously enjoys his work very much and enjoys working for Manamanx. I would thoroughly recommend Issac and Manamanx.
I recently had a great experience working with Simon who made the entire process smooth, straightforward, and genuinely enjoyable. From the moment I arrived, Simon was welcoming and attentive without being pushy, which immediately put me at ease.
He took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for—budget, features, and preferences—and offered thoughtful recommendations that matched my needs perfectly. Simon’s knowledge about the vehicles was impressive, and he explained everything clearly, from specifications to financing options, without overwhelming me.
What stood out most was Simon’s honesty and transparency. There was no pressure to rush into a decision, and they were upfront about pricing, pros and cons, and available options. It felt like they genuinely cared about helping me find the right car, rather than just making a sale.
The entire process—from test driving to final paperwork—was handled efficiently and professionally by Simon. I left feeling confident in my purchase and appreciative of the excellent customer service.
Excellent service from Jordan and Simon both fantastic to deal with and made the purchase of my new car the easiest experience I’ve had and sorted out the existing finance on my part exchange.
Simon provided great customer service and I am really happy from their offer.
Great service from Steve. Got a 3 year warranty and shine for peace of mind.
Quick and efficient service
Simon was great to deal with - very clear and helpful. He took his time to explain all available purchase options and to help set up the car itself.
The service at Manamanx was brilliant. Steve helped us to feel relaxed and listened to what we wanted rather than pushing any particular car. He explained everything really simply and clearly and was very warm and personable. Great service and would recommend. The car was also well prepared with new brake pads and wipers with a full MOT, and the clock had even been changed for the BST change that night. Thanks Steve and Mananx.
Great experience all round - good communication before and during sale, helpful courteous team and a good deal. Thank you Andy!
Purchase a car with Steve today. Great communication from start to finish. Nice easy process. Would recommend
Andy was so helpful. The processes and paperwork were brilliantly delt with. We are very excited to be leaving with our new car.
