Optician and eye test was excellent, aftersales not so great…

Optician and eye test was excellent would recommend.
Glasses have not been great and after sales service has been mixed. I had to take my glasses back after 10 days because they were hurting my nose and squeaking. The first member of staff told me the squeaking was my fault. The second member of staff said they couldn't fix either problem in store and I'd have to return them which meant going home to get a spare pair and returning to store for a second time.
Still don't have my new (expensive) glasses back.

My first visit to M&S Opticians

I visited M&S Opticians for the first time last week , after years with a competitor . I was very impressed with the professionalism , friendliness and efficiency of the Staff with whom I came into contact. I was able to get a same day appointment . I received very good advice about choosing frames and had a very thorough eye exam . I would unreservedly recommend M&S Opticians.

Although the staff were very nice I felt under pressure

Although the staff were very nice I felt under a lot of pressure to buy and also have anti glare put on them at £30 per lens, which I really do not need and the wife said she felt under pressure as well but she did not have any extras on nice staff but hard sell as well we will pick up the glasses and then that is it because the glasses are expensive there

M&S restored my faith in opticians

Having had a bad experience at another optician, I did not have my eyes tested for some years.

This was a mistake because there was a problem that I needed to be referred for.

I cannot praise M&S opticians enough, especially Az, who was not only very professional, kind and helpful.

All the staff were great and I happily returned to buy new glasses which I am very pleased with.

This was my best experience yet;
Very knowledgeable and thorough with my eye exam, showed & discussed all my scans and gave advice for future.
All the staff in this department were very pleasant & helpful.
I am very happy with my new glasses & will definitely go back.

Excellent

Very pleased with my 2 new pairs of glasses. The eye test was thorough & useful. I felt I could ask the optician questions, which she happily answered. When choosing my new specs, the staff gave very honest opinions, I'm a yes/no person & found them very helpful. I was phoned & given an appointment to collect & staff ensured they were a good fit. Lovely staff at Banbury, Gateway M&S.

Excellent service all round at the High…

Excellent service all round at the High Wycombe store. The optician was very thorough and went way beyond any eye test I’ve had before with the level of detail. Price was good when adding a second pair of glasses at 50% off.

Very impressed with Avnish at Cheshunt

Was very impressed with Avnish the optician at Cheshunt. He was really thorough and extremely knowledgeable about the difficult eye conditions I have.
The staff in Cheshunt are friendly and professional. I am very pleased with my specs!

Update. I have upped my stars from one to three…

I have upped my stars from one to three now.
I came back after I received my first 2 pairs of glasses as I wasn't satisfied with the reading/computer ones. Whereby I was advised that they weren't capable of doing both jobs and I therefore had to have a new set of lens fitted at a reduced cost.
But I am certainly not completely satisfied as they do not allow me to read the supermarkets & other shop receipts properly.

Hearing test

I had a hearing test on Saturday, 15/11/25 at 14:30.

What a horrible experience.

The audiologist was patronising, rude and very offensive.

He claimed that I was deaf in both ears but I could hear what he said.

I tried the hearing aids he recommended but it made no difference to my hearing.

He recommended hearing aids at a cost of £2665. I explained that I could not afford that.

He looked shocked that I did not have such money to spend.

I left the store in disgust.

Excellent service from M&S opticians in…

Excellent service from M&S opticians in Norwich. The optometrist was knowledgeable and professional and spotted a problem with distance vision. A referral was quickly arranged for which I am extremely grateful
Excellent advice from the staff in selecting appropriate frames for new glasses, very patient and helpful.

Lovely people in Plymouth store

Lovely people in Plymouth store - very friendly and helpful - full post cataract eye test (boots didn’t do this test apparently and they sent me for the opp) - love my new specs although I did find them quite expensive for what I needed but everything goes up doesn’t it - I was a returning customer and will use them again next time x
