Impossible to unsubscribe

Not a great site to begin with but the worst is that they only let you delete your profile via an email request, email that they dont bother to consider. Im stuck with this old account that makes pictures and infos that are Not relevant anymore pop on Google Search.

The first clue that they are clueless…

The first clue that they are clueless about the voice over industry is when you apply: They ask your age. Well, I am a 61-year-old who REGULARLY gets on-camera gigs for roles in the 35-45-age range because I look and sound younger than my chronological age. Yet, Mandy's algorithm will screen you out for ANY roles that are under 60, just because they force you to put a stupid number on the form.

Not a good thing to go on.

If this was such a good website to get an acting job then I would have gotten it. To get a real acting job should not be this hard. Being on this website is like advertising yourself to a ghost who won’t hire you.

MANDY HAS TOO MANY SUBSCRIBERS AND NOT…

MANDY HAS TOO MANY SUBSCRIBERS AND NOT ENOUGH OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS.

Mandy is really set up to make money. It's great for organisations looking for talent, because there are so many millions of subscribers world-wide, all seeking a tiny number of opportunities.

If you're a casting director or producer in a production company and you receive 200 applications for your one role, you'll only look through the first 10 or possibly 20 reels and CV's. The rest wont get a look.

When I have the time, I'll test this out and post a job to see how many applications I receive, and I'll publish the findings here.

I JOINED MANDY FOR 6 MONTHS - I APPLIED FOR EVERY SINGLE VOICE-OVER ROLE AVAILABLE. BUT RECEIVED ZERO REPLIES, ZERO RESPONSES AND ZERO ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS.

I'm a seasoned V.O artist and have done a lot of work - so I'd be extremely surprised if someone out of the bunch wouldn't have accepted me, if they only had a chance to trawl through all the applications!?

Mandy, why not be open and show how many applications have been submitted for each advertised role?

Why? Because you know this will stop anyone wanting to join!

Mandy continues it’s downward spiral

The site has been on a downward trajectory since it’s days as Casting Call Pro. Currently it has merged with Backstage and is abysmal. I continually receive jobs which do not match my filters and there recently seem to be a lot of jobs for Background Artists. This is not what the site was set up for. I will not be renewing my membership.

This is the second time trying Mandy

This is the second time I have engaged the promise of Mandy.com and again the results are disappointing. Ten years ago I created a professional profile to assist my 30 year career in the film industry as a union member of the Art Directors guild and Local 44. After receiving multiple job alerts each week for art department positions as a "free member", I chose to pay for an account only to discover the job posting vanished. Of the entire year as a paid member, I received less than 5 alerts that fit my profile as a production designer or art director, where as a free member I would see at least 2 or three each week. Based on a suggestion from a colleague and thinking Mandy.com had changed their policies, I created an account once again only to discover the very same practice of a "Bait and Switch". As a "free member" you are restricted from applying to any position or inquiring even for at least (1) one position. Fearing the worst and asking others in the industry, again the very same situation occurs that once you pay the fee, the promise of work vanishes. Mandy.com may work for some other professions, however for the film professional on a personal level, a professional has a 1,000% greater chance of obtaining work by going to local mixers and community events than wasting money on a service that has zero results. For the money, the service is just a waste of time, a professional has a far greater chance of projects posting on LinkedIn than posting on Mandy.com

Do not be conned by these crooks…

Do not be conned by this worthless site. This site is useless and a ripoff! I paid for one year as it was the only way to try the site. It was a total waste of money. I got nothing from this site. I get numerous from LinkedIn and I don’t pay a cent. This site does an auto renewal without an option to cease the auto online. You have to go through the site to find hidden away an instruction to email them for cancellation. They billed me without my consent a second year. I had no idea until I discovered a payment on my bank account. I told them I was not using this site and demanded a refund. They refuse to refund any of the 12 months payment even though I have cancelled the service. These guys are rude, greedy immoral crooks. You are wasting your money. Avoid. Horrible Customer Service

The company has unhelpful and quite frankly rude people working for them. I have asked to speak to a manager multiple times yet they keep going around in circles about my refund instead of actually trying to help. They even requested for screenshot, which I provided and then did not even read them properly. Would stay away and use other more reliable services instead.

No more!

I've used mandy.com for some years now and have had possibly 10 voice jobs from it despite most months applying for literally everything and giving it everything I've got but I won't be using it in 2024 and from then on because of least two things. I've started seeing the same jobs reoccurring more and more regularly, they show up, I apply (as though I haven't applied before despite doing so) and never hear any more from them. I don't believe that these are a coincidence, that the same companies are casting the exact same (what appear to be 'unique') jobs on a regular basis and getting more regular. It's almost as though there are algorithms at work 'recycling' the same jobs over and over. My second gripe is every year I get emails to my Mandy email address offering me a discount if I pay yearly and as I pay monthly due to budgeting restraints I would love to take this discounted fee and pay ahead for a year but when I click the link it wants to charge me full price. I've asked Mandy about this but they never answer and I've tried logging out and clicking the link, pre-registering with a different email address and it offers the discount. This is frustrating as the discount is always sent to my mandy.com email address. This is now enough for me, it seems to feel like they're happy to take your money but not to give anything back, I thought at one time that I was getting somewhere with them if only for a short period but obviously not. I get way more work not just through other mediums but even just through my website traffic (mrvoice.uk) I'm done with Mandy/Backstage I feel as though I've been taken for a very long and expensive ride but no more.

Something has seriously gone wrong with…

Something has seriously gone wrong with their site. I signed in Dec 1st and all of my mail history and paid information for 3 years was missing. I have lost two large jobs because of this. I suspect it was the merger in some way. Emailing them is like talking to a machine or child. Has anyone else had this and do they have any phone access?

Very disappointed with Mandy

Very disappointed with Mandy, I have messaged them 3 times on their website but I have never got a response, I have renewed my subscription and now every time I apply for a job it tells me I need to upgrade, but I have already done so. When answer from the number I got and their site. The only consolation is that I have been happy with them until this point, get your act together ‘Mandy’.

Mandy lost my CV and full employment…

Mandy lost my CV and full employment credits so that when I applied for a job (stage management), saying 'please view my profile and CV ' there was nothing there. Mandy don't reply to emails, don't even waste your time.
