Shoddy work. Not built to last. Avoid.

1. Delays getting started.
2. Insulation: I wanted my "office" to be a music room. To ensure that is was both better sound insulated and warm in winter I asked to upgrade to a specific type of Rockwool (RW6) which is about 5 times the price of the typical rolls of fluffy insulation. This was added to the price. The week before work began I confirmed that I would be getting this. Yes I would. However, during the work, and just before the team started to put in the drywall boards I noticed that they had in fact installed the cheap fluffy role insulation. I called a halt. I was told it was a genuine mistake. But how could this be after several conversations about the requirement and the extra money? This added a further 6 days delay.
3. Double Glazed door. I had asked for a "smoked" style glass door. What was being installed was a pattern glass door. Again I had to stop them. Apparently it was the fault of the company that sent it. But why wasn't this checked before bringing on site. Another 8 day delay.
4. The sealing of the timber. I was told this needed to wait for a couple of weeks. They would come back. Took several calls and nearly 2 months for them to come back.
5. Roof leaked. About 3 months after it was completed we started seeing a stain appear on the ceiling which got steadily worse/larger over the course of a week. Phoned Manhuts to tell them we had a leaking roof - they said they would come over soon... but it fact took 5 weeks - by which time the room was unusable with many buckets on the floor collecting water and my music equipment in danger of being damaged. Finally the roof was fixed (or so I thought).
6. Door continually dropping. Again, about 3-4 weeks after initial completing the double glased door would not key-lock. The door has fallen (apparently) - for this, ManHuts only took 4 days to come over to fix. All is good I thought. But two months later it had dropped again - and was fixed when the guy came over to seal the wood. Then it dropped again - this time it was adjusted when the roof leak was fixed. We then went a further 6 months with it all being fine. Then it dropped again. Call Manhuts - they said they would be over at the weekend, no show. Phoned again, they apologized and said they would definitely be over next week. They didn't show. Tried a third time Gave up. Had a builder over - he said the door frame is not level and so this dropping will keep happening.
7. Roof again. Over the past 8 months we've noticed a crack in the plaster in a line across the roof where the previous leak had been fixed. Initially we thought it maybe just "settling". As it didn't rain much in May or June it didn't seem to get any worse. But now in July the crack not only runs the entire length of the "hut" but you can physically move the roofing sheets up and down - so clearly there is one again a leak and the wood being damp.

Shoddy work all round and certainly not worth the £13000. Even the uplight channels I had installed only lasted about 9 months before they came unglued!

Given my hut is only just 2 years old I would have been better off using a local builder - one who can put things right immediately.
