Excellent program MVF Bridgend
MVF Bridgend is truly amazing set up.
Coaches and players are supportive and welcoming. Great facilities and structure every week. 6 a side 10 players per team 28 minutes games its ideal. Quality referee and superb spirt in this club.
The program offers help and support on your weight loss journey.
100% Recommend
More than a weight loss club
Since joining last year it’s helped me massively with the weight loss.
Not only does it provide an enjoyable way to lose weight it’s a great way to meet like minded people with the same goal, so you don’t ever feel like you’re losing weight alone.
MvF Bridgend
Been with MvF Bridgend since the start. Great for mental health and collaboration. Great bunch of boys and look forward to meeting up with everyone on a Friday after a hard week.
Great fun
Great way of improving fitness whilst also with the aim of losing weight. Great success stories and coach very positive

I’ve lost 50kgs in 3 years and it’s quite possibly saved my life, great bunch of boys at my club and it’s a lot more competitive than I thought it would be which I wanted.. it’s highly recommended 👍
Just take a leap of faith and join….its worth it!
Started couple years ago in the best club within the UK (Bridgend), as needed a kick from behind to get motivated (consistently)! Since then not looked back, the friendships gained and camaraderie is second to none, all with the same goal to lose a bit of weight and socialise! Yes it is a bit pricey and most of the work has to be done by you (but) that is what gyms do isn’t it?? Great for football lovers of all abilities.. the social aspect is amazing and gets you off ur butt! 💪 liked it so much when I hit my BMI weight I left, fell of the wagon put on a load of weight and decided to join back without a second thought ! Try it, you will love it 😉

Great atmosphere on out Friday night games, really enjoy the support from my team mates and the other players. Really would recommend for anyone looking to get back into football and lose a bit of weight 👍

Joining ManVFat Football has genuinely been one of the best decisions I’ve made. It’s not just about football—it’s a supportive community of lads all working towards the same goal of getting healthier and losing weight.
The weekly games are competitive but fun, and the structure (weigh-ins + matches) really keeps you accountable. What makes it stand out is the camaraderie—everyone encourages each other, and there’s zero judgement, just support.
Since joining, I’ve not only improved my fitness but also my confidence and overall lifestyle. If you’re on the fence, just give it a go—you won’t regret it.
Absolutely brilliant programme 👏
Are you a man? Do you want to lose weight? Do you enjoy Football? MvF is the answer!
I had been trying to lose weight on and off for almost 20 years and had never lost more than a couple of kg before putting it back on and more! I joined Man V Fat Football in January 2025 and I haven't looked back. I have lost 66kg, about 45% of my body weight and I don't think I would've done it without MvF. The camaraderie with my team mates and coach was a massive help. I went to the national tournament and gearing up for the Amazing Losers Game in a few weeks!

Having lost over 40kg with the help and support of both MANvFAT Merthyr and Cardiff I simply cannot fault program and the business
Not value for money
It’s just really not good value for money anymore. Costs go up and up and you get less and less for your money.
When I first joined MVF years ago, you were given a nice folder and food diary to use each season, we were playing on a 3rd of a full size pitch for games so good fitness and plenty of space.
We’re now on a much smaller pitch with the same sized teams so a lot less running involved, the food diaries and folders aren’t issued anymore. I’ve been involved with at least 4 different teams winning the league and no medals or trophies have ever been issued.
Teams get changed about fairly often so you spend out on various different colour kits you need which is a waste of money.
A ‘ref’ is provided and that term is used very loosely. The fact he gets paid is questionable.
Not much is offered in the way of weight loss other than mild accountability from your team and some webpages and generic spam with suggestions.
If you’re lucky you’ll get a good bunch of guys and it mainly benefits you mentally rather than physically.
We’ve had multiple ‘Coaches’ over the years and whilst they’re nice guys, have absolutely no idea about weight loss or anything like that. It’s a thankless task for them and for the amount of organising they have to do. They even have to provide their own laptops so I do feel for them.
All of the biggest weight losses in our league are due to them doing other activities/fitness outside of MVF. For the monthly cost at the moment for 30 minute games (that’s if you don’t do rolling subs…) it’s a rip off considering the amount of people in our league all paying the same. It’s mainly the social side we all benefit from.
The idea is good, the execution is not.

Ipswich MvF
I joined Ipswich Man v Fat only 10 weeks ago after a taster session. The coach Mark and his assistant Darren were both very welcoming and put me at ease. After 10 weeks I have managed to lose weight every week so far and have just hit my 10% weight loss. At 55 years old, I didn't think playing football again after a 30 year absence would even be an option but I love it. I would recommend it to anyone. Great group of lads, very supportive and genuinely one joined up camp.

I have been with MAN v FAT for just…
I have been with MAN v FAT for just over a year now, and I'm happy to say I've lost around 3 stone. I'm 40, and with few friends my age who still look to kick a ball around, I had found it difficult to exercise and find motivation to be part of a group that shared my goals, and were in the same position as me, especially at my local gyms. I joined MAN v FAT and was immediately impressed by the support that everyone in my Huddersfield club gave. I was made to feel welcome, and I felt like we were all a bunch of guys, that weren't just on a journey of weight loss together, but supported each other emotionally, especially recently as I struggled with my mental health. MAN v FAT gave me the platform to motivate myself and feel supported in my health and fitness journey. I play once a week, and find the price to be more than acceptable, as we receive coach support, a referee and a pitch, as well as all of the online support and communication groups that I am part of. I would recommend MAN v FAT to anyone that has been in my situation, loved football previously, had small friend groups, with no opportunity to play or motivation to lose weight. Thanks to those who keep this organisation running, it has helped me more than I thought it ever could.
Bullying, provocation and a lack of respect
As a neurodiverse individual, I’ve consistently found the environment within the club (STROOD, KENT) to be exclusionary and unwelcoming.
There is a clear culture of cliques, where newer or different members are made to feel like outsiders. I’ve experienced bullying, provocation, and a lack of respect particularly during games which has made it difficult to simply enjoy football, something I came here to do.
Intimidated by four players, and one of the coaches shouted at me from a distance, encouraging a physical confrontation by saying I should "go and have a fight with them" Is just one example and included one of the main coaches.
This was extremely distressing and unacceptable behaviour, particularly from someone in a leadership position.
Additionally, after stepping away from the club, I have been informed by others that I was mocked in the club’s WhatsApp group by those in leadership roles. This has only reinforced the toxic, single-out culture that is present in the club, and it has made it clear that this is not a safe or inclusive space for someone like me.
I simply wanted to enjoy playing football. Instead, I’ve had to endure exclusion, provocation, and mistreatment.
left and considering options
in all honesty the coach was not supported and there was a group within the club that wanted a football team and to have this moved away from a weight loss league.
This was lead by an Assistant Coach and his thursday night team who resorted to petty threats bullying and harassment.
When the Coach confronted them about their attempt to cheat at a national tournament by taking ineligible players they decided to put the coach is a C**T anagram across their strip. I was told if i wanted to play I would wear it or wouldn't be selected.
MVF have lost this coach at East Kilbride disappointingly as up until this group got together he had the club at it's peak. Shame it was destroyed from the inside by someone he hand picked to help him...
MVF you need to wake up and see what is going on and support the assets more. I know players have left EK and went to the coaches other club which I am considering doing as I do not want to play in a league where the order is we don't like the rules bully the person out that enforces them through manipulation and lies or by players boycotting turning up causing forfeits each week to force them out the door.
MVF you have a bad egg in this club and have done nothing about them in their whole time at MVF across them swearing at players, officials threatening to physically assault players and coaches with nothing getting done.
The last few weeks when this individual was not there we felt the coach could get the club back with MVF support but not now.
I,ve registered twice
I,ve registered twice, Once in Eastleigh where I was second in the que for a place for over a year, I relocated to Woking and registered and paid again in February this year but despite chasing Im still waiting for a spot. Today I got an email saying that they have cancelled my membership ???? Scam , anyway its done what it states and that helps you lose pounds but from the wallet not the belly

Played at the Hull - Not good!
Played at the Hull one for almost a year, and had to leave that environment. Lots of the players have been there for 20 odd seasons and it's very cliquey.
Also had an injury that needed me to go to A&E, and they all stood there and did nothing. I had to drive myself, when I wasn't really in the best shape to be behind the wheel.
That is when I lost trust for the people there!
