Don’t waste your time or money

I ordered some 4lite wiz GU10 bulbs at what seemed a bargain price in 2 separate batches. Although some of the bulbs worked as expected others either didn’t work at all or wouldn’t pair. In addition the bulbs in on batch were a very different shape to the others. Customer service is lamentable with no reply to any of my emails and no contact phone number. Yes if it’s too good to be true it really is too good to be true.

I returned a faulty phone that was…

I returned a faulty phone that was probably reconditioned when advertised as new. It asked for a puk code! The SIM card holder didn't work and I sent it back. Maplins received the return but need 3 working days to decide whether I get a full refund or a partial refund! What is that all about? I bought this phone for my 91 year old mother because it is supposed to be easy to operate. It's faulty and you can't imagine how stressful this is when the seller doesn't give a monkeys.

Dreadful Company

Dreadful Company, was unable to purchase an item on site, contacted them about this, they did not have a clue, I contacted my Credit Card Company, they sent me a code to my phone, three different times, still I could not purchase the item, they have no phone number to contact them on, keep clear of them

I have struggled to get a refund.
Bought my son a drone and it is faulty, but it only seemed to happen after two weeks. There is no damage. Customer service are not being very helpful.

I had to send back my daughters camera…

I had to send back my daughters camera she got for Christmas as it was broken. They sent me an email to say they have received the camera and will issue me my refund! I messaged them after a week to ask where my money was and they said they said they got sent it by mistake and yet to receive the camera. They asked for receipt which I said to them I no longer have as didn’t see the issue when then emailed me to say they got the camera and were issuing me a refund! I asked to speak to the manger which they replied I had to make a complaint and sent me the email! I sent the complaint to have a email back to say my message has been blocked!!!!!!! I emailed the other person back and he hasn’t replied !!!!

Avoid like a plague!

This company does not even deserve a 1 star! I placed an order (#000438710) for a christmas present (Nat Geo Telescope) on 12 December 2020 which was listed as 'in stock', however I have yet to recieve this! On 25 January 2021, I recieved a text message stating my order was at their warehouse and had been dispatched and again still no order! This really is disgraceful service. I have written to Maplin several times by email to enquiry where my order is and not once has anyone bothered to respond to my queries. I have also submitted several online 'contact us' forms from your website, again which now one has acknowledged. Avoid like the plague!!!

Dreadful customer service

Dreadful customer service, bought an arcade 1up video game which I had to return due to it being faulty which is annoying but it happens, the only difference is they say I've damaged it (I haven't) and they won't refund me, so right now I've spent £360 on a machine that doesn't work and what I don't even have anymore, anyone thinking of buying from this company think again its not the maplin that was on the highstreet the name was bought out by con men, DO NOT USE!

I am very disappointed with this…

I am very disappointed with this company I ordered a Xbox game for my sons Christmas present and still haven’t received it!! They say it’s been delivered but it’s been delivered to the wrong place or someone has stole it as it is not my signature!! I have been emailing but all they keep saying it’s not their problem and it’s Royal Mail and I have to wait yet another 30days this is beyond the joke I said I don’t want a refund just the game I ordered yet that’s still not good enough for them... DO NOT BUY FROM HERE

Absolutely disgusted with this company!

I placed an order with maplin for 2 items and only one item was delivered. I have been trying for a week to get in touch with them and only had one response telling me they are sorry to hear this has happened. I’m still to receive an email telling me it’s been re ordered, I find it disgraceful how a company can’t even be bothered to keep their customers informed of deliveries they have paid for, my order was a Christmas present to my daughter!

First time I’ve used this company and I can assure you it’s the last I’m now out of pocket and still have to purchase the same item from else where as this company will not sort this out AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

A very poor and unprofessional company

A very poor and unprofessional company. I ordered two items from Maplin. They send a dispatch confirmation email for both items that will be sent together. Only ONE item was delivered and it was significantly damaged and suspiciously looks like a returned item from a previous customer since the seals on the box were broken.

The other item was not even included even though the email says it was.

I wrote countless emails to Maplin and completed their online Contact Us forms. Absolutely zero responses. Eventually, I write a review on Trustpilot and surprisingly within minutes they respond apologising for my experience and that they assured me the item delivered was not second hand. I was told I would be contacted by their team... but again further waiting for absolutely nothing but false promises.

They use Trustpilot to publicly respond to negative reviews so as to assure other viewing customers not to worry. It's a big scandal. I am now going to my bank to claim the refund since Maplin have failed to take responsibility for their incompetence.

Best place for home office setup!

I ordered a monitor to recreate my work setup, Maplin were as competitive as amazon price wise and I received by 9am the next morning. Would definitely recommend for all your home office needs!

Order a crystal ball at the same time!!!

Ordered a BT Diverse 7460 plus last week showing in stock with quickish despatch. Not received it, no emails no nothing so chased up to be told out of stock and no idea when back in stock and asked if i wanted to cancel. Item still showing in stock on their website and available to order. So their customers are supposed to get a crystal ball out to realise their order is out of stock instead of their customer service using an age old technique called communication and now a phone i needed urgently is not coming. First and last time i'm using their online services.

Terrible service

Purchased panasonic home security system and other items along with it, costing almost £400 from maplin, does not work on 3g or other WiFi so you would have to say at home to keep an eye. To cut long story short, I have had a lot of problems with this and after many calls to Panasonic they don't seem interested, so called maplin UK customer services they just want to take your money and forget about you, they said send it back but if can't find fault we will not refund and if you want to talk to a tech person it will cost you £25.00. All in all I am not to happy with the service from Panasonic and maplin

Voucher con

I tried to put this review on the Maplins web review site and the kicked it off, no surprise there ONLY PUT GOOD reviews ON
They had an offer on £5 for £50 spend £10 for £100 spend, I would of thought for over £200 spend I would of received at least a £20 voucher , BUT when I asked the question all they would offer is a £10 voucher, in future I will look round for a better deal.
