Marco has a real experience in the financial matter. It is really valuable to listen him
I am an entrepreneur and investor, and I have known Marco Casario for more than twenty years. In my view—and in the opinion of many others in the Italian digital business community—he has always been exceptionally talented. Even as a young man, he spent his nights writing programming books and his days working, a level of dedication that has always set him apart.
In my academic background, I also hold a master’s degree in finance with a specialization in asset management from one of Europe’s most prestigious universities. A few years before obtaining that degree, I was looking for a value investing course and chose Marco’s solely because I trusted him personally. Years later, I can say that his operational framework continues to guide my investment process. It helped me connect the dots and give structure to what I had learned at university, thanks to Marco’s approach—which, being rooted in entrepreneurship—is practical, concrete, and focused on real-world execution.
Over time, Marco has continued to create new content and projects. In a field as broad and complex as finance, this inevitably leads to a certain degree of dispersion. Yet the course I took with him remains a true reference point. It offers clarity, provides a strong logical foundation, and helps develop a practical method for managing investments. It also enables individuals to reach a level of competence that, in my experience, is often superior to that of typical bank financial advisors, who tend to be underprepared and driven more by commissions than by clients’ long-term interests.
Marco and I share a strong passion for objective indicators, fundamental data, and market information. And I find many of his online deep dives extremely useful—particularly those on tech companies—because they are far more digestible than the articles on Boomerang or Seeking Alpha, to which I am subscribed.
A practical example: a standard bank advisor usually lacks the ability to rotate a portfolio according to market regimes or to combine fundamental analysis, technical analysis, and macroeconomics in a coherent way. They often propose investment products that underperform their benchmarks and that are not aligned with market conditions. Marco, instead, teaches you to think like a fund manager, developing an “alpha-hunter” mindset that places you at the top of the investors’ food chain.
In a wealth management landscape where even many HNWIs struggle to access advisory services grounded in objective criteria and academically sound methodologies, the most rational solution is often to learn how to manage one’s own capital. As Marco rightly says, “If you don’t take care of your finances, your finances will end up taking care of you.”
It is not an easy path, but in a context often dominated by superficiality and lack of expertise, for those who do not regularly read financial material in English, Marco Casario is undoubtedly one of the best finance explainers available in Italy, because he makes accessible and digestible concepts that at university are often buried under miles of mathematical formulas and academic papers—material that only an elite of academics and managers is truly able to use in practice, even though managing one’s own money is a challenge every person must face.
