This is a great dual-purpose french bean that grows an abundant harvest of thin, stringless green beans with a fine, sweet flavour that are ready to pick from early summer. But leave some pods on the plant to dry and you'll have white haricot beans to store.
Can grow up to 1.8m high. Loves full sun positions. Protect young plants from slugs with pellets or barrier methods.

The seeds and plugs did nothing wrong. they were the victims of poor planning and execution.

I planted Climbing Blue Lake French beans when they arrived into the raised bed. I added compost from my bin & bagged compost to the original soil in this particular bed. Climate change is playing its part in how the beans are climbing up the bamboo sticks. I feed but the rate of growth is slower than last year. The quality of the plants are good but the weather is slowing growth down. As Monty Don, Gardner's World said we need to accommodate climate change & how & what we can grow & our care of these plants.

These seem like dwarfs to me as they are not climbing very well but flowers at the bottom?

Arrived with soil full of small slugs that were eating away at the beans. Half of the purchase has died. Contacted Marshall’s by email had nil response.
