Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For years I've used a galvanized dustbin with a few air holes drilled to manage my kitchen waste, adding the partially composted output to my four bay Newzealand box system for bulk garden waste. I finally capitiulated and bought this HotBin to hot compost dairy and meat waste following the recent food waste rules. So far, so good. I got the bin up to 45degC within 10 days. At this early stage I've not added meat yet (we eat relatively little and and waste even less) but I remain cautiously optimistic it will work. Overpiced for an expanded polypropylene box, the stirrer is just a cheap long armed mini roller frame and the door strapping set-up is clunky. But, so far at least, it works better than my rusty bin!
