Acrylic nail in my dinner
Went to the Pheasant in Pen Y Fai and ordered a Sunday dinner. I found an acrylic nail amongst my turkey. I spoke with the manager discretely, who took no responsibility for this. She advised me that “we haven’t got any women working in the kitchen so it can’t be a false nail”. She appeared offended that I’d suggested this, despite there being an acrylic nail on my plate. I was abruptly offered another dinner, however, no apology and no offer of a refund.

I found the table and chairs in The Sun Verge very shabby, certainly not consistent with the prices. Needs some upgrading. Nobody likes a shabby table or heavily stained chair when going out to eat.
Two brewers in bridgend
Two brewers in bridgend. What a terrible experience. Even on entrance it was awful, loud and excessive bad language. Very cold rooms, ordered the small hunters chicken, turned up black, tasteless and inedible, desert was overheated in the microwave, complained to bar person who said she will have a word with the so called chef. No reply back. I have had lovely food here in the past but definitely avoiding from now. Even the prices of drinks have increased considerably in a year.

I visited the Queen of Hearts pub in Runcorn yesterday and was served very pleasantly and efficiently by Adrian.
We enjoyed the food and atmosphere of the premises and will visit it regularly.
Llanwern Bull
Llanwern Bull
Kings Wall Drive, Newport, NP19 4TZ
Used this pub over the last 3 years or so.
Recently a full refit and to be honest mixed feelings about it, However its done very well. Staff are spot on, very efficient super friendly as always, but overworked for the basic wage they get. Food is Ping.. and average, never going to be fine dining or even good dining.
Stupid prices average burger with a few chips etc (everything is portion controlled) and towards the small side, Burgers are rip off prices up to nearly £14 some of them..
Then drinks? I am a Guinness drinker Normally. And here it is £6.26 a pint. shocking!! gone up over a £1 since reopening after refit. Local not far away and just as nice inside £4.80. Large glass of Pinot Grigo around £8/9 local pub £4.90
So as you can see ****Rip off city.. if local pubs can do it, so can this bunch of profiteering management. Football screens all over the place. Avoid unless you want to empty your pockets fast!!!!! Oh and take ear defenders on footy days

The food was excellent but such poor training on disabilities and allergies.
We booked nearly a week in advanced and requested a quieter table due to severe hearing issues. We also informed them of a dairy allergy. On arrival a reminded the host and he assured me that we were given the quietest table (they had not even tried!). On mentioning the allergy it was “I only have a gluten free menu but the information is on the website’. We were seated next to the bar and door to the kitchen which was open all the time. The table next to ours was a staff dumping ground for their drinks, bags and even a baby at one stage (though the parents then went into a back private area. During the evening we had ice buckets being filled, cocktails being mixed, coffee steam machines working, kitchen noise and finally the manager using the staff table counting out coins from the till tray and dropping them into a bowl of some sorts. I decided to check out other areas of the restaurant to see if we were seated in a quieter area, and two areas were certainly quiet with another the same levels of noise or a little less where we were sat. We were going to stay for another drink but when the lady started coin counting we paid and departed. I mentioned to our host who I paid at the bar and his comments were “I’m sorry I will pass this on”. Surely the manager could have come across and spoken to me. Yes pubs are not noise free but there are ways to help customers.
Disability training is required here and I will pass this on so that others can learn from this poor experience.
Overall the food was fantastic and service fast but staff could be a little more friendly. Wow the girl who served us just did not want to be at work.
Thanks though to the chef for fantastic food. His food was better than some 3 and 4 star hotels. A credit to Marston’s.
Just been to the sun inn pub on…
Just been to the sun inn pub on barnsley road doncaster. On arrival the pub smelled not clean at all all the light fittings had dust on them even the chairs were dusty and raggy. Even though the barmaid was quite pleasant the wait for the meal was more than 45 minutes. And when it came it was sub standard a few chips with half a tomato 2 frozen onion rings a drizzle of barbecue sauce. Not worth wait and over 11 pound for cheap pub food poorly presented. Will not be visiting again.
Thanks . Carl
Very sad
Very sad! We love the place we go to and are not prepared to say where, because the staff are great. What we don't understand is the Brazilian anemic beef! It's disgusting. Please look at the animals online, grassfed!! Ha ha! Look at their welfare, it very poor and for me so sad. My father was a farmer who's local butcher came out to choose specific animals for their quality, so I know what I'm talking about. My partner owned hotels, he also knows about beef.. Never ever eaten something like this. PROCUREMENT, you need to have a word with yourselves and please support BRITISH farmers. I'm sure people would be happy to spend more on BRITISH beef.
I've also just looked at your review process for answers to customers and I can't see ANYTHING!! Even more sad!

Had a lovely meal at greenstone Dereham this evening Danielle behind the bar was lovely will definitely returning
Flying Shuttle no vegan dessert option
This was the Flying Shuttle in Haverhill. Generally the food and service was fine but just one vegan option on the dessert menu (crumble but with vegan ice cream instead of custard).
But they had no vegan ice cream, supplier issues we were told … so go to Tesco and buy some, it’s not rocket science 🙄
Thank you and well done Kim in Guest Services..
Kim in Guest Services at Marstons HQ in the Midlands deserves a huge thank you and well done for helping me get a refund from BOOking.com who were slow and unhelpful to the point of dishonesty. Will never use their platform again. Kim was professional and sympathetic and can do. A credit to herself and her employers.
Unacceptable Treatment and Poor Customer Care
We booked a table for 8 at Pen Y Bont Farm, Mold and were using a 40% voucher. When a another friend arrived she was refused service because our table would become 9. She had her own voucher, even offered to pay full price or sit at another table but was still refused service. She ended up leaving hungry and driving home alone. We are all pensioners and have been coming to Pen Y Bont for years as a group, we even have Christmas dinner for 15 booked with them but that will be our last visit. Totally unbelievable and disgraceful customer service that we found distressing and humiliating.
Service
Fantastic service from Zak
Looked after my grandchildren no request to much 100%
Lovely meat at The Wighton in Torquay
We visited the Wighton in Torquay. We enjoyed a lovely meal. Chefs best ever pie. Extremely yummy. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Recommended. We will visit again!
Lovely Sam
Sam, the supervisor was helpful from the time we arrived. Booking in was easy, ordering drinks was quick, evening meal was good. All with a smile, very pleasant manner
Wig and Walnut, Grange Park, Northampton
We booked a table for 4 in the restaurant, when we arrived we were told that it was very busy, our table had clearly been put there as an extra, there wasn't room to get around it and it was too small for 4 people, we waited around 20 minutes before asking if we could get a drink, to be told that there were alot of orders and they were very busy. The usual managers were not there and the man that seemed to be in charge was borderline rude and stated that it was very busy and there wasn't anything he could do we would just have to wait and he kept telling us they were busy, clearly there wasn't enough staff and they couldn't cope with the amount of customers
Don't book misleading room specifications
Booked accessible room for my disabled mum only to find upon arrival the room was not accessible. We were informed a full refund would apply but this did not happen. Dispute giving the benefit of the doubt and calling the Chequers inn Lutterworth Leicestershire and leaving a messages with Marstons direct no one has returned to me nor processed a full refund as they promised. Avoid
50mins too long!
Flying Childers, Melton Mobray.
Staff running about like idiots, even though it wasn’t that busy.
We ordered and paid for food through the App which went through ok. It was then a 50min wait until we saw any food, which wasn’t that hot, I think it had been sat on the hot plate for most of the 50min wait!
Staff not very attentive, leaving tables with old crockery, glasses on etc.
I don’t think we’ll call again and I wish I hadn’t given a tip on the app when paying for the food!
The pub itself is lovely and nicely…
The pub itself is lovely and nicely laid out but what an awful experience we had
We visited on Monday 22nd September to Penny Hedge in Whitby whilst on holiday-apparently there was an offer on in food which we were not aware of
There was only 3staff on and they were run off their feet-it wasnt terribly busy either
We waited forever for food when we actually chose as they had nothing on the menu available-said they had run out
At one point the chef came out said he had dropped the last sirloin steak on floor and would a bacon chop suffice
There was one fish and chips left
No attention as staff too busy so we had to source our own cutlery
The only thing holding it all together was a lady called Carolyn who tried her best as bar maid -food-server-and generally trying to help everyone out-lovely lady
What an awful experience we had -stay away if your wise
