Great health benefits

Great site to connect with others who share the same interest and enjoyment in receiving and/or giving massages. Depending on your preferences or reason you are seeking a massage, whether it is for therapeutic, to help reduce soreness and tension in the muscles or if it is for relaxation purposes, to just de-stress and unwind; it is all beneficial and will aid in improving your health physically, mentally, and emotionally. Also, a great way to create some new friendships on the way.

Hit and Miss

Like any social media site, Massage Exchange for me has been very hit and miss. Paid site has the advantage, one would hope, of keeping away time-wasters ... but it doesn't.

I've had a gold membership a few times, which means even free members can respond to me for free. Still very hit and miss and I am amazed how many members still never respond to messages. Odd, when you think the technology alerts a member that they "Have a message from" to their personal email. Do all members keep an up-to-date email or have a separate one that they check sporadically.

The majority of members I have messaged, even as a gold member, go unread. However, when I see that a profile has not been accessed by the member for three months, six months or longer ... what do you expect.

Although Tokens can be good and give you unlimited contact with a member thereafter, that member needs to respond in the first place. It can also be a very expensive way of doing MassageExcahnge.

Being a silver member is a waste of money as it seems nobody can respond to your messages - so silver, don't bother.

By all means subscribe, but be realistic about your expectations. Some members I have communicated with, but still haven't met ... are of similar opinion to me, that they have let a gold membership lapse as considering not worth the expense.

Of course what someone's "expectations" of MassageExchange are and how their lifestyle can accommodate that ... you know what that means and "you know the rest" and it results in a lot of timewasters.

I have been a member for many years and have met some truly wonderful people and had many great massage exchanges. The one thing that would earn them 5 stars and really make Massageexchange excellent would be a live chat where you can immediately communicate with fellow massage enthusiasts online instead of having to wait for emails back and forth

I like MassageExchange.com in THEORY, but the subscriber base is to low to give me a robust set of choices of people to have an exchange with in my area.

I like MassageExchange.com in THEORY, but in execution it is lacking because the owners insist on it being a pay site. I understand their reasons. The site is costly to maintain and so they charge a fee that you really have no option but to pay. You can LOOK at the site for free, but you can't really use it to find massage partners unless you're a paying member.

While I fully understand the need to charge, there is another way to make this site pay for itself, and that is through paid advertising. If the owners would invest, even for a short while, in paying an ad sales service to sell ads, the site could go from a few members in any one specific area to multiple users in that same area becuase the cost to run the site would be paid by the advertisers, not the users. Were the site free, many more people would use it, and the choices we'd all have in massage partners would skyrocket. As it stands now, the site has not enough traffic to make it as robust a site as I would like. In other words, in the areas I have lived in the United States, there are simply not enough people using this site to make it worth paying a fee to use. This site, this service, is so utterly promising, and it is the first in the market. But I think the owners would be wise to go free/advertising supported so that some other much more business-oriented approach simply blows this one out of the water.

It's a common misconception is that a site can turn a profit simply via paid advertising. A scant few do. Facebook only turned a profit after many years and an $800,000,000 investment. YouTube was posting a loss of $1,000,000 per day for about 10 years until they finally broke even. In any case, a typical site needs many millions of visitors per month to generate any reasonable advertising income. With our membership of 1/4 million, currently, it's a tough nut to crack. Thank you, however, for your thoughts.

Massage Exchange is a great site

Massage Exchange is a great site to match up with other massage enthusiast. I still go for my regular spa massage treatments with my professional masseuse or masseur when my schedule permits. Yet, over the past twelve years this site has been a valuable experience assisting in facilitating meeting civilized really nice males, females and couples.

A great way to meet fellow massage lovers

I'm a massage therapist and I have used this service for 3 or 4 years. I have met many local therapists and bodywork students where I live in San Francisco though this service and it has resulted in a number of long term friendships. I have exchanged massages for free which is wonderful in my trade. It is also a great resource to simply discuss bodywork with others. I have had the occasion to contact the support people at MassageExchange and they have always replied promptly and accurately and always very courteous. I would give this site 5 stars.

Great site!

I've been a member for over 6 years and I've regularly set up free massage exchange sessions with others. I've met many wonderful people through this service, male and female, who share my interest in holistic health. I thank the founders of this site! Life would wouldn't be as fun without it! Keep up the good work.

AVOID AT ANY COST

I joined this company in good faith. But found no members in 70 miles radius around me. Informed them but got reply. with in just 7 days I realized I am wasting £50 for no reason so complained to paypal. But paypal do not cover intangible purchases like memberships or subscriptions. They declined my claim of refund. I was told to talk to admins of massage exchange but to be honest I have not come across such rude people, They do not care and are here just to take money. Running business in UK but give a damn to UK Laws and consumer rights. Avoid at any costs as they are not UK base. If you cancel your membership within an hour of paying them you get NO REFUND at all Any one interested, I can present whole chat with them to make your own choice. Hope my review is a slap in their face and others wont suffer like me

Members may search our entire database (for free) prior to subscribing. This allows members to make an informed decision before paying. We remind members to search before paying in our welcome e-mail. Perhaps this customer did not bother. On our payment page, we prominently state that fees are non-refundable. Due to the intimate nature of our service, we want serious customers not tire kickers. Customer proceeded to contact members (despite his claim that there were none near him). Sorry, but use our service you pay. PayPal agreed. This is one unhappy customer out of 200,000. See over 9,000 positive reviews of our service here: http://www.massageexchange.com/reviews/view.asp
