I really tried to like Masterclass but…

I really tried to like Masterclass but I just couldn't get past the non-masters and non-class aspects of the content. Very dramatic and well produced but it's highly subjective talks clearly authorized by the woke gods of DEI. I can see some of this content being not only unhelpful but damaging to credulous viewers. Like the "how to deal with AI at work" starts off with a series of women telling me that I need to "reimagine my relationship with work itself" like WTF are you even talking about? Who the heck are you?? It's like Netflix but not entertaining. Then I saw the New Rules of Business with Kim Kardashian and I was just DONE. Unlike all the one star reviews I was able to refund easily so that's not a problem for me. You just need to use their chatbot.

Really poor experience with Support. I would steer clear of MasterClass and there was no resolution so I gave up.

It's a complete scam

It's a complete scam. I paid for the year and couldn't log in or reset password. The AI bot on the customs service team just goes round in circles and now has stopped replying. I've had to write off the subscription fee and cancel my card as I can't log in to cancel subscription. What a joke.

Masterclass is a joke

Masterclass is a joke, get some notable names and do short videos and then they can make cancellation the biggest headache ever and keep attempting to steal money out of your account. It’s hype beast culture mixed with corporate greed. Want to see an actor who thinks they are gods gift to man but really is the product of nepotism and luck tell you how to “make it in Hollywood.” While real people struggle and all the while masterclass is continually trying to charge your goddamned credit card. Screw this service,

Scam and ripoff!!! Beware!!!!!!

Signed up for a year and used it 1% according to their stats board in the app. They auto renewed my account two days ago for $131.00 and will not refund it. It’s all hidden in their setup so you don’t recognize you’ll be auto renewed. Then you're screwed! It’s a SCAM!!! Do NOT sign up for this rip off company. They also state that they send you an email to tell you about the automatic renewal 30 days before the charge. I never received an email from them. I am so disappointed.

Terrible customer experience

I signed up because I actually want a yearly subscription to this app. Picked top level 6 device option. Got an email saying welcome, offered me a free upgrade to 6 device plan. I cleared that as I had just signed up for it anyway. Go into my account I have 2 device medium plan and look in PayPal receipt they have charged me in NOK Norwegian currency and converted to GBP? I’ve never been to Norway ever so ?? Try to chat to say I want an upgrade to the level I picked so ask to speak to a person. Says they’ll get back by email. They haven’t and now I have no access as it says membership has expired. No refund in my PayPal account though? What is going on? All I want is to pay and use this app??? Customer experience nightmare. Just let me talk to a god damn person

Reply: I have emailed. No reply. I also tried chat twice. It’s crazy you guys have time to reply here immediately but not to actually talk to me to try and help solve my issue and move forward.
Update: MC replied Friday. Sorry you have no access to the service. We will refund and you can start again with same terms and you will be charged in GBP. I followed up this morning. No further contact since Friday. I have raised a PayPal claim.

Update: I replied to the company response to this review. No response. I emailed again asking for help. No response. Contacted them through PayPal. No response. Filed a chargeback claim through PayPal. Got my money back and an email saying, sorry we’ve been really busy. I paid for this service and had no access to it for three weeks. Now waiting on my refund to go back into my account.

When I create an account there was no…

When I create an account there was no validation of email address and I failed to notice a typo in my email address. Luckily I took a screenshot of the incorrect email, which had only one character wrong. As a result Im unable to use the service that I paid for, because Im unable to receive activation and password reset. MasterClass customer service repeatedly failed to understand this asking me to share information that I received in my order confirmation email and asking me to send confirmation from the incorrect email address that did not exist. After 3 emails they stopped replying to me despite my follow up’s, it’s now been over a week since I received anything from them. This is a week from the subscription that I’m paying for. Their customer service is shockingly poor and seemingly their money back guarantee is worthless. Had they fixed my email I would not be looking for my money back but now it appears that I have no choice but to go to the trouble of raising a chargeback with my bank, which is a hassle as their policy insists on cancelling and reissuing my card, which is not what you want ahead of Christmas.

Do not trust this company with your credit card

Bought this as a one-year gift. NEVER selected auto-renew. They just charged me for another year anyway. They’re communicating the renewal with the gift recipient — but not with me, as they are charging my card. Just entered an absolute nightmare dispute with the credit card company and will probably have to cancel my card and get a new one to avoid more charges from this fraudulent company. STAY AWAY! Wish I had read reviews before I ever gave them my card number.

UPDATE: I saw your response and reached out. Again. Just had auto-renew mansplained to me. Wish you could understand that the problem is that you never told me there was an auto-renew! ZERO communication. Tricked into buying a gift that never ends. Still no refund.

I was billed for a membership I NEVER…

I was billed for a membership I NEVER ORDERED. I bought a gift membership last June for someone, then they TURN AROUND and charge my credit card for 120 for a membership I NEVER ORDERED for my self. This is FRAUD.

Subscription refund

I wanted to terminate my Master Class subscription as I had not realised that I had an auto-renewal membership. While it was a little confusing finding out how to reach a physical employer from Master Class Support instead of a chatbot, once reached, I was assisted immediately and the money was refunded.

Scam, double charged after Black Friday deal

Scam, be aware of the 50% Black Friday deal. I signed up Master class because of the Black Friday deal, original price was £120 and the deal
Price was £60. However after I subscribed for the master class, they double charged me both £120 and £60. Contacted their customer service which was AI reply and saying they cannot find my account associated. It has been 4 days and no one reply. I have to contact my bank to support.

Would give zero stars if I could

Would give zero stars if I could. Charged my card after I had cancelled. Live chat is non existent, stuck in a loop with a stupid chatbot. Customer service utterly unresponsive.

Masterclass has fraudulent business practices

Masterclass has fraudulent business processes. It has got some good content managed by a very poor and unethical business organization.

They charging me 3X for no reason and Customer Support refused to refund saying 'they don't have the tools to refund as the previous charge is inactive.

Then they proceeded to ghost me. We need to file a class action law suit against them for fraudulent business practices.

No renewal warning

Updated review. When you cancel you specifically get the option of a renewal reminder rather than that being an ethical default.
After a couple of emails and requesting refund the company obliged.

Masterclass is an empty promise.

Masterclass is a master ripoff. Please don’t believe all the hype and paid for reviews that claim it’s so great. It’s not and that’s the truth of it. I signed up because I wanted to learn more about certain content like Chinese cooking (Not there) or how to deal better with people who have disabilities like ADHD (Not there) and a multitude of other things. They have a very limited library that’s very slim at best. They completely ignore anyone who tries (With suggestions) to improve. So ignore them back because they’re only annoying give us your money hype machine.

Charged & then deleted my account

Cancelled within the trail period. You guessed it! They charged my credit card anyway.
Then I figured, I already paid, so let me use my subscription. You guessed it! They cancelled my account.

So I don’t have an account, and no money, and NO MASTERCLASSES.

I wish they would onboard a class for their own product team to learn how easy it is to build and manage subscriptions.

How is this the NUMBER 1 complaint and they are utterly incapable of solving this? Ridiculous.
