Association of Master Tradesmen Reviews 

I was struggling to find a reliable local builder for our project when I contacted the Association. I didn't know much then about their services but it was such a relief to learn about the support they provide to members and customers alike, a proper professional organisation that vets and monitors their members, not just a free-for-all join up. From the outset they were so helpful, matching us with a builder (who turned out to be an absolute star!) and providing resources such as draft contracts. We had no problems, but it was comforting to know they were there to help if it was needed. Thoroughly recommend you use AMT for your project

Extremely helpful in finding the right builder for the job, from the time I contacted their office, their recommendations as well as follow-up to ask about progress. We had a major flood in the bathroom, toilet and hall and the chosen builders did a stunning job from a stripped out shell transforming it back to a better environment that it had originally been.

I contacted the association for a home extension project.
I got a few referrals from them, and went with a contractor they recommended.
The contractor did not perform well and left the site before finishing the work. I always paid the contractor on time and even when the work was not complete to ensure that he was not cash flow negative on my project.
At the end of the day I paid for 93% of a project that is only 70 percent complete. The contractor told me he had ordered expensive windows, equipment and material (>£15k) that I paid for, but he left without delivering the material and finishing the work.
I would have expected the association to truly vet any companies they refer. This was obviously not done correctly. The partners of the contractor told me he was routinely running his scamming scheme with other clients...

The association really need to do a much better job at veting contractors they recommend, or start assume liability for fraudulent activities.

I found MT Building Services from the Association of Master Tradesmen (AMT). They were just great and Kelly (from AMT) helped enormously in finding 3 builders and obtaining reviews and quotes. I went with MT Building Services and I cannot recommend Matt Furse and MT Building Services highly enough. From the outset Matt was completely straightforward and transparent. The contracts were clear and helpful and he structured my expectations well. The build itself was conducted with respect for our home and environment. The guys working on the job were just lovely - nothing was too much trouble. They were a pleasure to have in the house. Matt was very hands on and drove the project forward. He has extremely high standards and when something needed rectifying he was the first to notice and change it. Any variations in price were discussed and everything was transparent and easy. The end result is absolutely fantastic. I am so happy with the work and it is a joy to be in the new bathroom and kitchen. I am disabled and the adaptations were designed to make my environment easier for me. This has been achieved and I cannot thank Matt enough for the process, the work and the outcome. We had just moved to the area and needed expert advice in starting our renovation project with a trusted builder.
The AMT representative asked relevant questions which enabled them to forward suggested professional tradespeople who would be able to support us with our project.
We were able to gain quotes from more than one tradesperson. Before committing to a specific person, we were able to phone for references from previous clients of the tradesperson we were considering hiring. This gave us confidence to go ahead with the project.
The before and after support from AMT is very good and we would recommend this service to anyone embarking on a project where a number of trades professionals are involved.
This service was essential for our peace of mind and enabling us to gain the quality of workmanship that we sought.

Contacting the Association of Master Tradesmen was easy and always available to discuss my need. They provided a list of appropriate contractors who were deemed best suited to carry out the project and maintained communication throughout to ensure I was content with the service being provided by the employed contractor. There was always an offer of assistance should I need it.

Including help chasing responses and keeping me on track. Through this company I was able to successfully find a local contractor when the Freeholder couldn’t. The contractor completed the work to a high standard, on time and within budget.

Explained clearly how work would be carried out and at what stages payment would be required. Tradesmen employed worked to a high standard and cleared up having completed their remit.
Paul attended the site regularly to check on progress.
Price was good comparing with other builders.
Only letdown was lack of photos for Fife buildings dept. who now require copies of invoices for insulation used in walls and under floor before issuing completion certificate.

Duaris handled all the project management we required and the teams brought in for building work, electrics, plastering, carpentry and decoration were very professional and friendly.

The work and finished article were exactly what we wanted. Tidy and clean workers. would recommend.

Took a while for Cobblestones to turn up but understand that the weather and time of year was against them. When they did get there the job was done quickly with as little mess possible. pleased with the price and James made every effort to keep my elderly mum (whom the job was for) informed of progress at all times. would definitely recommend.

The entire process was so lovely and easy. It made such a difference that builders reached out to us and we were able to choose who we thought we would be able to work with the best, knowing that all options had been vetted and came recommended. I would definitely recommend using this service.

I had had terrible experience from other trades no coming and even looking at my project.I was needing my house fixed after a flood plus I had new plans to change the layout of the house, this included new structures, removing, walls, attic, kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, heating, tiling, plastering and general joinery. That is why I signed up to master tradesmen and I am so delighted that I did as that introduced me to the fantastic Steven Bell Joinery. Steven and his highly professional team where exceptional, caring, understanding, patient,highly skilled and true master trades people. They gave excellent advice when works needed to change, went over and above the call of duty, ensured they left my home tidy after a days work and the quality of the work they did was exceptional. The project involved an incredibley tight budget, time lines and we hoped to be home by Christmas. Steven came in on budget and his team gave us a beautiful home in time for Christmas. The best builder I've ever used by far - Buildtech SW Ltd. Reliable - started and finished on time with excellent quality work. The quote was delivered on time - they started when they said they would and finished on time at the quoted cost. They also provided a snagging service as part of the work to ensure everything was perfect. They built an extension for us and then two bathroom refurbishments.

Excellent communication, prompt and efficient. Apex were highly professional.
