Association of Master Tradesmen Reviews 

More than 10 years ago, we were previously associated with the organization, and we re-enrolled with them a little over a year ago. We consistently receive work from them on a weekly basis and successfully secure over 90% of the projects they assign to us. Esme and the team are fantastic to collaborate with, acting as our personal assistants in following up with clients. In general, we highly endorse them to other tradespeople seeking a stress-free experience with excellent customer service and dependability. The "carefully vetted" and "finely selected" builder recommended to me by the Association in fact refused to give me any paperwork at all in relation to the work, expected me to pay his labourers in cash on a weekly basis, tried to rip me off by attempting to charge me the association's fee at 3.5% (it is 2.5% and payable by the builder not the customer) and then left the work unfinished so I was left with an bathroom in which I couldn't have a shower. Trying to raise these matters with the Association was a waste of time - apparently it was my fault. This builder is still on their books.

I went through the Association as I needed someone to put right some work carried out by a rogue builder they purport to try and avoid and now I'm going to have to find a builder to put right work that was to put right work.

Very poor service, if that’s what you call it.
I would give zero if possible.
Don’t be swayed by what they proport to do on the adverts, as I was.
In reality they recommended foul mouthed incompetent workman to build a small kitchen extension on my house. The work should have taken 3 months when in fact it was almost two years and twice the cost. Most of the time they were not showing up to carry on the work. In the end they never finished the job and I had to pay others to finish it and fix the damage that was caused to my property.
Despite my complaint their final solution was to take action against the builder which would incur even more costs from me.
They now ignore my complaint so can only assume that they condone the builders action.
Do not touch with a barge pole unless you want to lose an awful lot of money.

We recently used the Association of Master Tradesmen to find a builder for our loft conversion. The process was straightforward and we had quotes from three local builders. The company we chose always turned up on time, were very tidy on site and even completed the project two weeks early. Lewis and his team were very diligent and professional throughout and I'll definitely use them again.

Do not use these people we did had builder recommended by them 3 years later roof leaking badly they were no help said it was nothing to do with them we were duped well and truly and they say because it was after 3 its nothing to do with us but they said they vetted the Builder I don't think so, talk about washing your hands it maybe was ok at first but who goes onto roof to check out a builders work do not trust these.people all talk and dont mean what is said

The Association of Master Tradesmen helped me find a building firm for our garage conversion.
They were helpful throughout, but especially in the information that was sent initially, detailing the essential steps.
it was reassuring to know that they were always a phone call away should I need them.
Thankfully all went well and we didnt need to call upon them.
Would recommend to anyone wanting to find a reliable builder.

Just an advertising company masquerading as a professional association. All you have to do is pay a fee to be part of the association. Strange way to make money

Very helpful when myself and my husband needed quotes for our loft conversion and dormers. The Association of Master Tradesmen did exactly what they said they’d deliver – multiple quotes from reputable companies and useful advice when needed. I’ve been let down in the past so I was nervous about taking on another building firm, however it was good reassurance being sent references and a friendly advisor at the end of the phone to put my mind at ease. The work came in just over budget, but that was down to some added extras at our request. Overall we’re very pleased with the chosen company and the level of service throughout. Thank you.

I found it very easy to submit a job on the Master Tradesmen website. Found a builder for our loft conversion who was competitive in his price. I worry I could have easily paid a lot more had I not had more than one quote. The whole process was straightforward and it took the hassle out of what could have been a very long and costly process.

If you’re undertaking building work contact the Association of Master Tradesmen. Their support was invaluable to me when drawing up a contract and work was underway. The guide they sent at the start was helpful and they even helped us through a particularly tricky negotiation at the end. Glad to have used this service. Very helpful and knowledgeable.

Very poor service. Very flawed method of deciding who to entrust your building works to. They may recommend a building company but they have no more knowledge than you do. The roofing company they recommended to me employed an individual who was grossly incompetent at roofing. I needed to spend more money on another company to remove the roof; they showed me the various flaws in the original company's work. Having written a complaint to the Association in January 2023 I had heard nothing by June! When I rang them they couldn't find my details...until they checked a previous computer system. What a convenient way of losing complaints! They described how companies pay a registration fee to join...what due diligence there is must be highly questionable. Once a company leaves their registration there is no accountability. At the end of the day its down to the customer to check on reputation and abilities. The Association of Master Builders seemed quite content with washing their hands of the matter. Fake reassurance from this lot sadly !
