More than 90% of the world’s population breathes air with levels of pollutants that exceed limits set by the World Health Organisation. Despite this fundamental human need for clean air, the face mask industry has failed to deliver an adequate solution. We are forced to trade-off between filtration efficiency, comfort and style, whilst a genuinely sustainable choice is completely lacking. This insight led to the creation of Masuku more than four years ago. The vast majority of face masks currently used cannot be recycled - many end up being incinerated, which further worsens the air quality crisis. Furthermore, increasing numbers are littered, washing up on beaches and polluting natural environments where they will persist for an estimated 450 years. Masuku’s vision is to provide clean air without compromising on comfort, style, or sustainability - to provide powerful filtration performance, whilst protecting the planet. This led Masuku to partner with Pentatonic, a design and technology company that specialises in what is known as the circular economy, to develop groundbreaking manufacturing technologies that will power the world’s most advanced face mask, Masuku One. The core of Masuku’s unique technology is a new kind of nano-fibre filtration material created from an engineered compostable polymer, using a newly developed electrospinning process. Compared with meltblown fibres, which are used to make the majority of face masks currently available, the electrospinning process is able to create a structured membrane consisting of extremely fine nano-fibres (up to 1,000 times narrower than a human hair) dispersed with extreme precision for maximum efficiency. Masuku’s revolutionary nano-fibre filtration material is being produced on site at the company’s AirLab in Hellaby, Rotherham. Assembly of Masuku One and production of Masuku Daily products will also take place in the north of England. A centre of excellence for sustainable filtration technology, the facility is responsible for producing Masuku’s proprietary nanofiber filtration fabric and assembling face masks under highly controlled conditions. I find the fit to be perfect for my face. I used the size guide to pick the medium size masuku one. I signed up for the loyalty program because people in the office and on the school pickup often ask what the mask is and where to get one. Might as well get some points in my account for sending people to the website. Overall I'm really pleased.

Love my Masuku One mask!
I became acquainted with Masuku through a friend and I am so glad I did. I absolutely love my Masuku One mask. It is well made and fits my face perfectly. I love how it is constructed which makes it easier to breath. As well, my glasses don't fog up when I wear it. Just ordered another one and have recommended it to friends.

Great and high quality mask
Great and high quality mask. The mold of the shell kept my mouth from touching the filter and fabric, so I can breath and talk easier. Great customer service too, there's an issue with my cover and they arrange to send a new one swiftly.

Our shipping page includes our estimated delivery times to many destinations. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, and the festive period, we have unfortunately experienced some delays. However, when making a purchase we like all our customers to have the opportunity to track their package along it's journey, and to contact us if there are any issues. Most recently, all our packages have been delivered on time and we have had no further delays.

Poor and very expensive product
I had expected to buy a premium product because they are very expensive. Unfortunately I found it to be uncomfortable to wear and more to the point the ear straps easily become detached from the mask. This means that they are very fiddly to re-attach before using the mask. Unsurprisingly one of the ear straps has now become totally detached and I have now lost it. I cannot use the mask now and do not wish to waste more money on such a poor product. I have only had it for three months. A total waste of money.
Update 27/1/22. Masuku responded to my complaint promptly, they apologised for the problems that I experienced and the issue is now resolved. I hope that the new masks prove to be better. Due to their response I have increased the rating.

Expensive and not fit for purpose!
Expensive and not fit for purpose!
I paid £100 to get 2 of these masks after I’d read so much good about them. Thing is, they aren’t. The filter is expensive and so thin there is certainly no protection. I wore the mask once and the plastic casing for your face had me sweating so much I had to change to a different mask. Then there’s the price. Way too expensive especially when it is not comfortable and does not fully protect you. Save money and get a FFP2 mask. Those are your best protection and don’t cost crazy money.

Spot on, exactly what I wanted. I live in Central London and cycle to work most days. I've known pollution is an issue for a while now and decided to take the leap and buy a mask that will protect me from it on my way to/from work. I did a big search for masks that specifically protect you from pollution and found this one and I'm so glad. I thought it would get sweaty when cycling but it doesn't at all compared to the other high end ones I've tried. I use it on trains, buses, on my bike and at work and have never had an issue with it. It looks cool too!

The best I have ever tried
I have tried plenty of different masks, but this is by far the best one. I am a teacher, spending my day constantly on the move, speaking and rushing around, but this mask stays comfortable and doesn't get sweaty. I always get compliments on how nice it looks and how I match the different covers to my outfits, from both the students and staff. I am able to feel confident that if I were to catch something, I will not pass it onto my students, as the mask is protecting me and is so great and techy. Thanks Masuku!

Awful. I wouldn’t even give it one star.
The mask looks great. But it’s really uncomfortable. And after a few minutes condensation starts building up in the mask. So a while later you end up with a wet mask and a wet face.
Emailed customer service and their response was basically tough you can’t return the it.

A revelation! Wearing visually distorting, uncomfortable and ill-fitting masks had become the norm, but this mask has reset the parameters through its structured fitting with unimposing visual design which enhances rather than detracts. The accessories could be more competitively priced.

Needed a comfortable and stylish reusable mask to use on a 11 hr 44minute flight. The service provided from Masuku was fantastic throughout. Well branded and packaged, we received our order on a Saturday which was earlier than the Monday delivery estimate given.
These masks are so comfortable you honestly forget you have it on and will also get admirers asking where you got them from. We opted for a black for him and white for me mesh design size medium with replacement filters and disposable masks to use whilst on holiday as required in public spaces. Both lots of masks performed really well in 30°+ heat. Think mask wearing will be here to stay for a while so well worth investing in a quality Masuku Mask.

A wonderful alternative
We ordered our masks as it’s almost impossible to find an effective, comfortable and sustainable option. They are super light, sit away from your face and look quite smart!
Whilst there were some delays with shipping and customs - none of which were in the control of Masuku team - customer service was really responsive and helpful. They followed up with my many requests within hours, even over the holiday period.
The fit is spot on for my partner. However, even with the measurements I found the medium too big. Still wearable but creeps into the eye area. If, like me, you have a small face and usually struggle to find glasses or masks that fit, the small is probably perfect.
Have recommended to lots of friends and family.
