The brilliant 16L Firefly
I’d had my original 16L Freefly for about two years but only used it as a day pack for travel and the main zip failed on a recent trip to Cambodia. In total I think that the pack was used daily for about 15 weeks.
Matador very kindly replaced the Freefly 16L with no quibble. The replacement pack is even better with significant construction improvements.
The main zip is much more robust and and is supported by a thicker baffle which I expect will prevent further zip failures. Additionally, the two retaining straps above the external bottle pockets have been raised further up the side enabling a standard 500ml water bottle to stay in the pocket whereas before they were prone to slipping out.
The base of the pack is now constructed from a stiffer, higher denier ripstop nylon fabric that feels much stronger and gives the bag more shape. Two attachment loops have been added to the base as well, allowing for more configuration options. A useful shock cord attachment loop has also been added to the front of the pack and the front pocket is larger with a wider opening. A small unobtrusive embroidered branding now appears on the top right of the bag.
I loved the old bag but this new one is fantastic. I suspect that this pack will last much longer.
Thank you Matador.
