Nobody is perfect

Nobody is perfect, mistakes happen. What matters is how the company responds to the issue. Tom handled my issue quickly and efficiently with a minimum of drama. There are many companies that could learn from that approach.

Very bad exchange

Very bad exchange. Closed my account for absolutely no reason, didn’t even tell me why. Avoid, use a better exchange like betfair. Pretty disappointed as they were good for a while, and then all of a sudden my account needed a ‘review’. Same happened to my friend at the same time.

Awful customer service and treatment of members.

Both myself and my husband opened accounts about a month ago. In the space of 2 weeks, we have both had our accounts suspended and then closed! No explanation. No reason. Nothing. We didn't break any rules as far as Im aware and trying to get explanations beyond the generic "it's part of our policy to review accounts", it's like wading through treacle.

Bewildered by verification

Signed up to matchbook about 2 weeks ago.

Yesterday I got this message: You will not be able to make further deposits or withdrawals until your account is verified.

I wondered if this was some kind of error and made 2 deposits to test it out. £100 and £76.

Both deposits went through successfully

Today I tried to log into my account.

The system wouldn't let me.

I emailed their customer support rapidly.

Got asked for 2 layers of ID.

I sent 6 ID documents including passport, bank statements and utility bills.

They emailed me back

Apparently the ID I sent is not sufficient.

I'm now unable to log into my account. I don't have any other ID documents.

8 times I've asked their customer service how to resolve this issue. 8 times they've replied with the same message. Asking me for more ID.

So now I need advice.

For 2 weeks I've been depositing and withdrawing without any problems.

I have no debts or money concerns, so it can't be a safer gambling thing.

It's just a simple matter of me not having any more ID.

Bewildered that this happened 2 weeks after I opened the account. Why didn't they do this then? Why wait

Why let me make deposits after stating I wouldn't be allowed to make further deposits and withdrawals?

At the moment I'm not even angry. Just numb. Can betting companies do this?

MATCHBOOK HAVE NOW ASKED FOR MORE INFORMATION BEFORE ISSUING A RESPONSE.

I'll provide it here

You first sent me this message:

In keeping with our regulatory requirements, it is now necessary to complete additional account verification.

Pending completion of this request, further deposits and withdrawals are restricted. A Time-Out facility is available should you feel the need to block access to your account while completing this request.

I THEN MADE FURTHER DEPOSITS TO MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS

THE NEXT TIME I TRIED TO LOG IN THE ACCOUNT WAS BLOCKED. Note there is no mention of blocking my account. In fact the opposite.

I PROVIDED ALL THE ID DOCUMENTATION WHICH I HAVE. THIS IS QUITE SATISFACTORY WITH OTHER WEB SITES INCLUDING GAMBLING WEBSITES.

MY ACCOUNT REMAINED BLOCKED

WORRYINGLY I EMAILED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE 8 TIMES. I RECEIVED THE EXACT SAME REPLY EVERY TIME.

Please note that we do not accept Bus Pass cards as proof of identity.

We require all ID Documents to be Photo IDs and to display your full name, date of birth, issue date and expiry date.

As Proof of Identity, we accept one of the following:
Driver’s license (front and back)
International Passport
National ID card (front and back)
We only accept biometric Passports and ID cards.

We will not be able to complete verification until we receive a valid Proof of ID document, and your account has been restricted pending receipt of this.

I provided 2 photo ID documents

A passport (now expired)
A government issued bus pass with photo ID

I also provided

Bank statements
Utility bills
Council bills

All the above very recent (within 10 days of issue)

I HAVE NO FURTHER ID TO GIVE YOU

None of this matters if you ask for verification before allowing a user to join your wonderful establishment. I SIMPLY DIDN'T HAVE IT

TO ACCEPT DEPOSITS AFTER ASKING FOR VERIFICATION IS TERRIBLE. YOU BLOCKED MY ACCOUNT AFTER THIS DESPITE STATING I COULD LOG INTO MY ACCOUNT.

IT MAKES NO SENSE. ONLY GREED

My finances are in order and I have no debts at all. This can be clearly seen on the bank statement provided.

Poor verification team, came up to verify my account but before I could send then on the details I was locked out of my account to provide verification details, I have provided them via email and waiting ages now for this verification

I regularly place lay bets here as…

I regularly place lay bets here as recommended by Outplayed.com, but their customer service is the worst! I like their unique UI, and I received a 0% commission from Outplayed.com. However, the attitude of their customer service representative needs to improve, especially the guy named Daren, who provided incorrect information and did not apologise for his lack of good service. Very disappointed.

Not a great site can only use decimal…

Not a great site can only use decimal odds and I prefer fractional. Probably OK for some people though also site is hard to navigate round. Customer service seems OK, opening offer wasn't what it said it's not bet 10 get 30 it's bet 20 get 30 and they make you wager it on certain bets 😉 sad really because they will lose a lot of custom.
