to be honest i would rather have a car hit me that use this stupid app. then my teacher acts like we should all have got this shit done

i mean the app is useless and i think there is no benifit to using it as i spend more time tearing hair out than answering a question. sorry for anybody who got hit with this in year seven

I dread every Wednesday, I leave those school gates to go home and face a damn app on my phone I wish was deleted. You have to get EVERY question right. There are so many apps that do this and are better. Tf are bookmark checks?! I don't write! It's an app not a book. Also the videos have the same few default, AI, lazy, partially drunken voices. The videos don't actually help, nor explain any simple or crucial details on how to get the question right and just hope/pray the thing bugs out and gives it you! If you use this app or have friends who do, tell them to move country, continent, change full name, date of birth and ID because if they don't, they'll face hell with pixels, and trust me, the creator of this living hell will indeed, somehow find you! I would've given this a -1 but sadly reviews do have limitations. Just like my sanity for this app, I once spent 30-45 minutes on half a question. In the end, I chatgpt'd it. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY. THEY DONT EVEN DESERVE THIS PAIN! 1/5 STARS.

the most repetitive and useless maths resource. lacks feedback and provides a fairly unhelpful video if you cannot complete a question. im a grade 9 student in maths yet doing sparx homework takes minimum 2 hours. it takes away all my passion for maths and makes it feel more like a chore. complete waste of time. use maths genie or 1st class maths instead

Absolutely disgusting website. Sparx maths is my thirteenth reason I honestly hate it, the way the app has been made and the constant weekly resets is horrid, the amount of questions and the fact that they get harder when u succeed but u have no choice to get it right feels like a trap. I hate this app and hope the creators get sued one day.

This app is genuine soyslop made by the hive mind of teachers who's personality has been hacked by the sparx maths corporate agenda. I would rather drink 60 liters of sour tobasco and marmite than do these dumb homeworks - it is designed to be impractical and tedious and the videos are about as helpful as a hit on the head since they dont relate to the question whatsoever. Bookwork checks are literally pointless and solely aim to torture the free minds of children who are forced by the hivemind to give into the iron maiden of sparx maths questions.

Sparx maths is a horrible website where people have to keep re doing questions to get it right and it uses rubbish ai that thinks your excelling when your actually failing so you cannot awnser the questions as it makes it too hard.I would rather rip off my own skin and eat it than do Sparx maths again.

You may assume that everything to do with sparx is instantly review bombed so negatively because it's homework. You'd be mistaken, this is genuinely terrible!

-Why homework even is homework-
Sparx maths ignores every principle of why and what homework was even made for. Homework was made so that the things you learnt that are now in short term memory can be recalled so that it moves into long term memory. Sparx maths does the opposite! It's so bad that the amount of tears wept and the amount of scribbles and stabs in your notebook distract you from actually learning.

-The videos-
The videos overcomplicate everything and use completely different questions than the one you're actually trying to solve. The app makes sure that you 100% complete everything correctly, meaning that if you LITERALLY genuinely cannot comprehend a question, too bad, you now have to either brute force it until you get it right or just cave in and google lens it, which adds on to the short term not developing into long term thing since you're not actively recalling anything!

-Learning hinderances-
I don't have any learning difficulties that I know about like dyslexia, yet I find myself sobbing in my room on a tuesday midnight because I can't answer the questions, so imagine how bad it is for someone who actually has learning disabilities!

-The app forcing you-
Sparxmaths kicks you while you're down by making it so that the more you struggle and fail, the more you get what you're struggling at forced down your throat (specifically refering to bookwork checks but more on that later). And even if you ARE doing good, it gracefully rewards you with even MORE difficult questions, so both sides of successors and strugglers fail in the end!

-Bookwork checks-
How bookwork checks work is that ocasionally, you will have to recall the answer to a previous question, infering from the answer accompanied with the bookward code that you are expected to have written in your notebook. The problem with this is that if you get the recall wrong, instead of it just moving on or something like that, it dumps you with MORE and MORE bookwork checks, assuming that you know the answers to them too.

-Conclusion-
This SERIOUSLY is mentally harmful to kids.

Generally, this website is SO ahh. The questions are ridiculous as hell, the videos that are meant to "help" you really don't make a difference and just waste some precious minutes of your life which you could be spending them on soooo much better things rather than this stupid app. aand, when i can't do the 100 club check which sometimes happens, i have to do those AWFULLY stupid times table games that force you to think about questions in your head for 10 seconds despite getting not a single answer wrong. So annoying, Mark Dixon founded sparx maths to "enhance learning" yeah bro, who the heck is he bro. HE just makes us suffer every single week for hours on end. stupid website, stupid app, schools are stupid for considering such a thing to be used for homework

Shitest website EVER!! Doesn’t help you at all and some questions have even been wrong. I don’t know how they expect us to write down the individual bookwork check codes for every website HORRIBLE

It makes maths harder and the videos don't even help like it's always a different question and the annoying voices. I can't stand it. Its even hard writing it in an exercise book.

my favourite part about sparx maths has to be when i get a book work check and get it wrong then i keep getting more! also live laugh love when i get stuck on a question for 3 hours of my spare time when i’m away from school and the video tutorials help so much that i keep getting it wrong and it keeps changing the questions around and it helps SO much that i still spend only JUST another few hours on it! 🤩 oh my god i can’t believe i almost forgot, i LIVE for being given detention when i’ve done most of my homework and was stuck on just a few questions! now, sparx reader and how it’s saved my life: i ADORE when i have to read 10 paragraphs per section and answer just 3 questions on it, also i love love love when i get an answer wrong then it puts me forward in the story and THEN after it does that even if i get just one teeny question wrong it puts me further back in the story so i just have to reread everything! so FUN! also i praise the fact that if i read too fast it tells me to read more carefully and if not, when it gives me the questions it doesn’t tell me if i’ve got them right or wrong until i’ve answered all of them and if i only just get ONE answer wrong it makes me reread and re answer. and LOVE the fact that it removed half of my xp gained if i didn’t get my answers right first try! this is why you should definitely use sparx at home for school work! xxxxxx also stop begging for hergaty maths to come back sparx is just so much better!

our teacher always threatens us with an hour of detention if our bookwork isnt green (perfect) and if we dont get 100 percent completion. not js that, it ALWAYS takes almost forever to complete especially when the questions increase in difficulty if you do good at the questions you're given. i cry almost everyday because it wastes my time when i couldve been playing with my friends for the 2 hrs i had to endure with this stupid app. i miss the hours of my lifespan gone forever im only a teenager, when i started yr 7 i was excited to do my sparx everyday and nowadays i cant be asked to even do my sparx maths unless its last minute (i dont want detention)

I hate sparx genuinely, I also hate how not getting every question right makes it incomplete. Hello? At least I tried now I’m on the same level as people who actually haven’t done it. The system is terrible and has caused so much stress

Horrible! It gives u bookwork checks every couple of questions and if you get it wrong it happens every single question which is really annoying. The questions are the worst you can have 5 questions to 12 questions which isnt the best because it takes longer and is harder
