Excellent product - high quality dog food which our lab really enjoys. Next day delivery service which always arrives on time - they use DPD which is a reliable delivery company. Never had an issue. It is claimed to be good for joint care too so it’s worth the extra money as Labradors are susceptible to joint issues in later life. Wish there were more flavours in the medium/large breed range to provide more variety.

McAdams is an outstanding brand in every sense of the word, and their food has genuinely transformed my Italian Greyhound Leo’s health.

Leo is a notoriously fussy eater, which is stressful enough with such a naturally slim breed—every second person asks, “Are you sure you feed him?” Sadly, at just 6 months old he caught Giardia and lost a full kilogram, which is huge for a dog his size.

The vet recommended the usual suspects—Royal Canin and Hills—but Leo only became worse. His breath was awful, his teeth accumulated so much gunk, he was miserable, and he still wasn’t gaining weight. I couldn’t sustainably home-cook every meal, and I genuinely believed he hated all dry food.

Then I found McAdams.

They offered a Sensitive Small Breed Turkey dry food (they also do larger pellets, but Leo prefers the small). Within weeks, he completely bounced back. His coat, his eyes, his energy—everything improved. He finally started putting on healthy weight.

Even a vet who swore by Leo having Royal Canin/Hills’ hypoallergenic and anallergenic diets (please note your dog may need these, Leo certainly does not) congratulated me on returning Leo to a healthy weight and happy state. And now people say, “What a beautiful shiny coat your dog has—you must be feeding something special!”

Yes, McAdams is pricier—and I’m stretching to afford it—but after seeing the transformation, I honestly can’t imagine switching. The quality is unmatched.

And the customer service is exceptional.

When a delivery company failed to follow instructions, McAdams went above and beyond to put things right. I have never felt so valued as a customer. The care, communication, and effort were outstanding. We are deeply grateful, and thank you for the kind and generous gifts—Leo absolutely loves his treats (all four flavours, plus the air-dried range he enjoys as snacks!).

I only wish he could tolerate the freeze-dried raw turkey flavour—he’d adore it—but we are fully committed to the Sensitive Small Breed dry food and the wet food (Turkey & Garden Vegetables, and Salmon & Turkey). Leo practically does a dog-whistle squeal when he sees his McAdams meals coming!

I wholeheartedly recommend McAdams. Thank you for being an exceptional company and for going above and beyond—for both of us.

I have tried every dog food on the market and this is the best.

So my review is based on solid experience

My Pomeranian is the fussiest dog that ever lived. We’ve tried different brands of raw, fresh, and freeze-dried food, but nothing worked for him. He would even spit it out if I put the food directly in his mouth.

I first ordered the McAdams freeze-dried lamb and the new air-dried chicken. Unfortunately, he didn’t like either, so I contacted customer service. They were very kind and, without any questions, sent me a new package of freeze-dried chicken.

Fortunately, my boy loves this one — it’s literally the only freeze-dried food he will eat. It’s very crispy, unlike other brands’ freeze-dried food, which can be a bit “soggy” and still clump together when crushed. McAdams’ version is more like a crispy cookie, and he can’t resist it.

Really happy with the quality of the food and service overall. My Doberman has been on such a journey to find a food she likes that does not upset her stomach, I was recommended McAdams by a representative at Natural Hounds in Ashby de la Zouch and the change has been amazing, her excitement, her coat, and most of all her unsettled tummy has finally settled after 6 years of trying every other “premium” promise the earth brand but McAdams actually delivers and the knowledge and passion their representatives have is absolutely amazing, the support I have received both from the company directly and the supplier store has been amazing. Thank you so much for existing!

I have given my dog/s McAdams almost since the company’s inception, and is the reason why my dogs have lived long, healthy lives. Nowadays so many of the dog food companies claim to use free-range chicken and turkey exclusively, in addition to ethically sourced salmon, but Neil McAdams was certainly the pioneer in using free-range/ethically sourced meat and fish, which is really important for those people like myself who actually care about the animals/their lives before being slaughtered to make into pet food.

McAdams dog food is exemplary; there is absolutely nothing magical about it, no secret ingredient, no secret recipe—it’s just pure and simple, honest dog food using good, wholesome, honest ingredients, and dogs absolutely love it! I also love it because I know my dogs are eating nutritious food that benefits their bodies and minds. The familiar adage, ‘You are what you eat,’ couldn’t be truer.

In addition to great dog food, McAdams customer service team is second to none. They are patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful, and I’ve yet to come across any other customer support team within the pet food industry that beats the McAdams team.

I couldn’t give a better, more honest review than this one.

Having recently rescued a little dog who had been fed a poor quality and bland diet I was at pains to find something else for him to eat and had tried all the best brands, or so I thought with no luck. For a few weeks all he would eat was chicken which is not a balanced diet. I popped to my local pets corner for some bits for my cat and I was given a free tray of McAdams cat food. Alas my cat is on renal so could not eat it. Now I know you are not supposed to feed it to dogs because of the taurine, but as a once off thought it would be ok. He cleaned the plate!! So the next day I popped back to the shop and bought a selection of 8 trays. He eats a tray every evening now without hesitation. I noticed that you also did dry food so I took a risk and went back for a bag of that too, expecting to end up donating it as he wouldn’t touch it. But I couldn’t believe it when he ate that too! I am really pleased he is now getting a good balanced diet with high quality food and from a company that is ethical too. For anyone sitting on the fence as it’s a little pricier than most, I hesitated at first, give it a try as it works out cheaper than all that food you throw away or have to donate. Very pleased with the products.

My 10 year old chihuahua squeals with excitement for her turkey and veg trays, she has IBD and so far 3 weeks in she’s had no episodes! I’ve never seen her this excited for her food. Order direct from McAdams with free next day delivery, which is very convenient. The food smells and looks delicious.

Totally impressed with this company - my dog loves the freeze dried raw. He has a funny tummy at times and I discussed it with them and they were extremely helpful. Good food and good customer service

Our mini longhaired dachshund Taco has been a McAdams pup since 9 weeks old. Taco is now 18 months old and loves his McAdams meal times as much now as he did on day dot, no picky sausage behaviour going on here. Thanks to McAdams being packed with goodness and natural ingredients, Taco is thriving to say the very least. Thanks to a fantastic diet, our little sausage has strong pearly white teeth, healthy gums, a glistening coat and the perfect amount of energy. Aside from the amazing physical and mental benefits of this brand, we as a family value McAdams commitment to animal welfare and meeting standards across the board. McAdams really are a different kettle of fish and play a vital role in the health, fitness and happiness of Taco. We couldn’t be more grateful to have such a high quality feed available to us and to receive a customer service that matches.

Great results from a great food.
We have served our 7yo girl McAdam's Chicken and Salmon since she was weaned of her puppy food. She has a sensitive tummy, something her breed is prone to, once we switched to McAdam's this was a thing of the past, we have had nothing but great results with McAdams and we don't even use the food for sensitive tummies. If she is unwell or she ate something she shouldn't we only give her McAdam's to reset her system.

When our second dog came along we transitioned her straight away, given the results we had with our first girl. Both really enjoy it. Over the years the customer service team have been very responsive to any queries including detailed nutritional advice which has always been spot on. We've tried/mixed up both the chicken and chicken and salmon when one of our girls went through a fussy stage based on their advice and this worked a treat.

This is top quality food, evident in what comes out the other end of the girls!!! Their teeth are always getting complimented on by our vets. We've never had issues with gassy dogs or any gastro problems on this food. Both our pups have quite impressive coats so a food which delivers on this front is a help. The ingredients are very high grade and the company takes ethics seriously which is important to us and the Velcro closing bags are very handy when it comes to storage. Delivery is super fast and as I said customer service is fantastic

Such amazing dog food. My beautiful 5 year old working cocker has been on McAdams Free Range Chicken (medium breed) since he was roughly 5 months old. Since then, he has always had 100% good health and an amazing shiny coat. Prior to switching to McAdams, he often had an upset tummy, thankfully that is now a very distant memory. I cannot praise this feed highly enough and the best part is he never tires of it.

McAdams really stands out when it comes to dog food. The quality is fantastic, and I love that they’re committed to high welfare standards. You can tell the ingredients are top-notch—my dog’s coat is shinier, and he’s full of energy. It’s great to know that every meal not only benefits my pet but also supports ethical practices. Incredibly easy to pick and order the perfect food for our pup! From puppy food to starting on his adult food, he loves every meal!

McAdams food, and treats, have helped our little rescue dog, Leia, endless amounts in the 3 short months of us having her. When she was found, she was covered in cuts and sores, struggling with allergies and severely irritated skin. Thanks to the kindness of a representative from McAdams sending Leia a bag of kibble, Leia’s journey towards proper health started. Now, with continuing to feed her McAdams dry food, a cheeky garnish of their freeze dried Salmon and Sole as well as their treats, Leia’s issues are a thing of the past and she is a happy, healthy, spoilt pooch. We couldn’t thank McAdams enough! We love them! 💕

My cat was suffering from over grooming. Went to the vet and nothing helped. I was recommended changing food by Pets Corner and tried McAdams. My cat’s hair has grown back. Amazing product. Thank you so much.

Oh dear… I feel this company has failed its customers which is genuinely disappointing as my dog loves their food. I purchased some more freeze dried raw food from my local Pets Corner and to my shock, I saw that McAdams have reduced the weight amount from 500g to 400g yet the price has remained the same. That’s a 20% reduction! I have not been notified of this via email nor does it say the change has taken place anywhere near the in store stock. It is your responsibility as a company to provide your consumers with accurate knowledge regarding pricing and product changes. This is happening all too often everywhere at the moment and it isn’t right. I would expect some sort of acceptable resolution to this please as I am now out of pocket.

Fantastic customer service from McAdams! I was looking for a different food of better quality and McAdams appeared. I ordered on their site and chose free delivery. Although I didn't pay the extra for Sunday delivery, the food still arrived that day, which is brilliant. Cannot comment on how my dog takes to the food yet as early days but the ingredients/nutrition are excellent. Will definitely stick to this brand if all is well. Just wish they done a senior kibble for small breed. Have mentioned this to customer service and they've passed on my feedback.
