McGee & Co. was created in a spare bedroom with lots of big ideas and no room for fabric samples. After many late nights of brainstorming and collaboration, husband and wife team, Syd and Shea McGee decided to take what was a small business for a stay-at-home mom and turn it into something much more.

Very disappointing shipping rates. I had 100$ worth of rewards which I basically paid for shipping alone. Bought two of the XL Bodie planters and shipping was 95$! Not a “reward”-ing experience. Atrocious shipping policy.

I really wish I would have utilized the Trustpilot website to review others' experiences before purchasing from McGee & Co. Generally speaking, the more you pay for a product, the better the shopping experience and customer service. This is absolutely not the case with this company.
I originally purchased a floral quit blanket on 3/23/2024. I had been eyeing this quilt for some time and wanted to purchase it as a birthday present for my mother. I spent over $300, including nearly $30 in shipping charges alone. The email stated the item would ship in 5-7 business days.
Over 2 weeks later and I received no movement or updates on my order, so I reached out to customer service. Unfortunately, Kianna informed me that they did not have the inventory to fulfill my order and she went ahead and cancelled the order. The same day she cancelled my order I checked the website and it showed they had 1 left in stock. I reached out to let her know that they needed to update the website because it was still showing they had it in stock. I did not want someone else to buy it and have the same issues I was having. She then informed me (and keep in mind this is all the same day) that they had a return and sold the return to another customer.
So I've concluded she either lied, or is terrible at her job. Because wouldn't you think if you had a customer waiting 2 weeks for an item that you already took their money for, that you would fulfill their order first before listing it for someone else to buy?
In conclusion, I would not recommend this company and warn customers to exercise caution when considering purchases from McGee & Co. Despite their reputation for luxury and sophistication, their deceitful approach to shipping times and inventory management undermines the trust and loyalty of their customers.

I bought the adalee console for my entryway. It has two HUGE man made carved cutouts in each side, not shown in the product pictures on the website or in the description. I reached out to customer service and they said the cutouts were indeed “natural” and they wouldn’t let me return it. They are not natural. Now I’m stuck with a $1000 console I hate.
UPDATE- FYI Mcgee and Co has done nothing about this, even though they responded to this review and asked for more information. This review will be deleted if they do something about it.

I purchased 6 of the Molly barstools in Nov of 2023. I also purchased the warranty for each of them. My 6 year old grandson who weighs 59 lbs climbed upon on one and the leg splintered and broke. It was covered by warranty but they want me to pay shipping and tax to purchase another one. Since then, I have had 3 more of them some apart at the joints. We have been able to fix those but for this price I don’t feel like I should have to pay anything to fix a poorly made defective product. Will never purchase from McGee and Co again.

I was so excited to get my new leather ottomans, but the color and quality are not what was shown on the website. The color is called saddle but is actually bright orange and doesn’t look good with the rest of my decor. You can also see dyed orange fabric coming through in between the leather which is not what was shown online. I paid $550 for these and they look cheap. I wish I went with a different brand but I thought it would be worth it to pay up. Customer service replied saying they are within the permitted variance color. So disappointed!

Bought a chandelier from them which arrived damaged . I have tried to get them to refund me but they keep telling me they haven’t heard from their claims department so they can’t refund me or tell me what to do with the chandelier . It has been two weeks now and I do not have my money back or have any idea what to do with the chandelier . Terrible service. I do not recommend buying from them as they don’t stand by their product. Sending a defective item and not refunding it is not acceptable .

Bought a rug that has shed quite a bit and also a chandelier that had a broken glass and they refused to send another pane of glass or replace the item. Would not recommend dealing with this company or purchasing anything from them. Their price point makes you think it’s good quality but it is not worth it.

tl;dr it took over 3 months for a cabinet to ship, I was consistently the one to reach out to customer service, cs wasn't honest about the situation (when I asked/caught them in the lie, they backtracked on their previous story).
I placed an order at the beginning of November with multiple furniture items and some decor. The cabinet said 'new' item, in stock and ready to ship with an estimated ship time of 4-6 weeks. I wound up placing another order with furniture 2 weeks later, and yet another about 3 weeks later. I had received every item in all 3 orders, EXCEPT for that cabinet from the very first order, within a reasonable lead time. The first time I inquired about the location of my cabinet to customer service (via their contact form because they refuse to speak to you on the phone), they told me that the carrier was experiencing delays but my "cabinet is just waiting to be picked up, expected ship date is January 10." January 10 came and went, I waited an additional 2 weeks before reaching out for a second time. Their CS agent said the same thing, blaming the third party carrier for delays but it should ship in 1-2 weeks. So I wait another 2 weeks with no word, so I reach out again. They said pretty much verbatim what they said before, "we're waiting on the carrier, your item is in the warehouse." To which I replied, "I have received other furniture from other orders from you guys since this order was placed. If the carrier is the issue, why not employ a different carrier?" And their reply to this solution was "your item was actually backordered and we just received stock. expect it to be shipped in 1-2 weeks."
My thoughts after receiving this:
- I have ordered items from you before that were *actually* backorder, and I received updates on the status the whole time, but I not once got any communication about this "backordered" item
- You changed your story after I called out the inconsistency
- They blamed the carrier for their mistake
- I believe they either forgot about this part of my order and it took me reaching out 3 times for them to remember it OR the order was lost and they were trying to cover it up
This experience made me want to never order furniture from McGee & Co again.

Ordered a coffee table in Nov took till February to arrive. Once it arrived it was too big so I wanted to exchange it for something else. Unfortunately, returns are not allowed. What a horrible business practice. Customer service is useless and hard to reach, I WILL NOT be purchasing again or recommending any family or friends to do so also.

I got this beautiful display cabinet four months ago. It sits in my office. One day morning I noticed one of glass door panels is cracked. Some glass chips shattered on the floor. I couldn’t believe why it break in less than half year, it is a pricey furniture. I wrote a review. McGee & Co responded me. They offered me to return it although it’s passed the return time frame. I told them I rather find a local glass repair company to fix the panel, McGee can reimburse me the cost. Kianna assisted me with the inquiry. They approved my request. So after all, I am okay with McGee &Co service. Now just keep my fingers crossed

I purchased a rug from McGee and Co - the Roslin Hand Knotted Wool Rug - in February 2023. I waited until April 2023 for this rug to be delivered. The rug quality quickly diminished and it looked "worn" very quickly. I went to move my furniture this weekend and I noticed the entire half that was not under the sofa has completed faded and now the rug looks awful. It hasn't even been a year - and this room had moderate traffic, with no direct sunlight. I will NOT be purchasing any further items from McGee and Co.

I do have mixed feelings about the company as there certainly are areas where they can improve. As you will see in a lot of reviews, they have a terrible shipping and return policy. They do not offer free shipping beyond a certain amount, multiple shipping options, or free shipping codes leaving shipping costs to be expensive on top of the actual product (which are expensive on their own). Secondly, it looks like their return policy makes returns nearly impossible for most products. It would be nice to know that they stand by their product enough to offer a fair return policy like most modern companies. Note that you cannot cancel or edit an order on your own, so you would have to contact them immediately for any changes. I recommend calling (to get actual assistance) and emailing (to have a record of the issue). I had an issue with the shipping address on my recent order and needed it changed. I emailed immediately after placing the order and called when they opened. I was told over the phone that they were working on it, only to get an email from Kiana later that day that it was too late to change anything. She was not helpful. However, I called because it was still an issue, and Mariesa was extremely helpful. She fixed my shipping issue with no issue, turning my experience around. I wanted to leave a good review for her, seeing as she made sure I didn't waste my money or end up having a bad experience with the company. So, with customer service, I will say it depends on who you get (over the phone or over email). I do wish they held all their employees to the standard Mariesa displayed, as she actually seemed to care about positively representing the company and the customer.

I've never had a problem with their customer service like others here. They have always responded to all my questions and have been very helpful. I just wish they'd make their products a little more accessible. Meaning don't charge hundreds of dollars in shipping fees on top of already very expensive products, that also go along with hundreds of dollars in taxes. You're asking us to spend a LOT of money here and you can't even comp the shipping? Or even occasionally offer free shipping codes? It sucks to build a shopping cart and have to ditch it because you get to the checkout and see $250+ in shipping alone tacked on.

They strategically hide the fact that any and all items which fall into the “artwork” and “furniture” categories are final sale. For example, a stock art print or a widely manufactured foot stool cannot be returned. No exceptions. Now if this was visibly listed on their item pages or in checkout (like most major online retailers) I wouldn't mind bc I would be informed about the finality of my purchase. Ultimately, I prefer to do business with a company that stands by their products and will accept returns if you are unhappy with the quality of their products. Also, it’s 2024 and they are still using the “due to supply chain constraints” excuse from covid-19 times as an explanation for warehouse issues (ie. delays in shipping orders out). This is honestly basic stuff. It shouldn’t take 5 business days to process a small order for shipment. I would understand if it’s for large items that require freight delivery. My final point, they gauge you on the shipping fees. Do your research before you buy anything from them. Or do what I do and reverse google image search items from their site and buy directly from manufacturer. I’ve done this several times and every time the manufacturer charges at least 25% less with much cheaper shipping, plus they ship immediately.

I wish I could give ZERO stars. I ordered a console table from McGee and Co and the delivery came with NO assembly instructions. I have called the customer service countless times and sent multiple emails asking for someone to send me the assembly instructions - NO answer. I will never be ordering another piece from McGee - they have beautiful designs but their customer service is atrocious. NOT worth the hassle.

While I am pleased with the quality of the items I've received from my order, I am extremely disappointed in McGee & Co.'s ability to fulfill it and the lack of customer service I've seen while trying to resolve my issue. Everything from my order arrived as expected with the exception of the lampshade for my lamp. When I inquired about it after receiving the lamp but not the shade, I was told it ships separately and to give it a few days. When I followed up a week later, I was told the shade was lost in transit and that a replacement order had been placed. Fast forward one more week and still no shade, nor is Customer Service able to provide a tracking number or any further details. So, McGee & Co. has $400+ of my money while I have an unusable lamp with no shade and nowhere to store it during Christmas. Super awesome. When I reached out via email earlier today and asked for an update by the end of the day, I didn't receive one, and when I called the Customer Service number to talk to someone about it, the agent I spoke with answered after the 10th ring (and sounded like they'd run to pick it up) and could only tell me exactly what I already knew. I don't know what's going on at McGee & Co., but this doesn't seem like a good way to run a trustworthy business. I love your style and your products, but given much of it is sold elsewhere, I will order from another retailer when the opportunity arises in the future. It shouldn't be this hard.
12/16/23 update: I received an update late in the day yesterday letting me know my lamp shade wouldn’t ship until 1/29/24. I don’t understand how or why this lamp is showing up as shipping in 2-3 weeks when half of the product ships separately and won’t arrive until 2+ months later. I know incidents arise, but when you read through the reviews here, it’s obvious this is a consistent problem.

I purchased the Ovitt coffee table in February. It arrived in June with a huge scratch. I contacted the company right away and did find they sent me an email stating they would refund my shipping cost. I unfortunately didn’t see it until now because it went to my junk mail. Fast forward till now and that scratch is not even a concern. The other day, my husband and I noticed a HUGE crack lengthwise in the center of the table. My husband is a carpenter and knows wood very well, and stated the coffee table was manufactured very poorly. There was nothing we did that caused this. I reached out to the company several times via email, and sent pictures of the crack. No one has responded. They also do not pick up their phone. I’ve left voicemails. I am a good customer of this company and we recently purchased a dining room table and chairs, and now I’m nervous about what kind of trouble I’ll have with that furniture. To say I am extremely disappointed with customer service is an understatement.6 months later to have a crack on a $800 coffee table is ridiculous. We even took out the extra insurance on the coffee table and they denied the claim about the first scratch. It was shortly after I submitted that claim that my husband and I noticed the HUGE crack, so I was told I now have to wait till January to refill a claim. This should not have happened to a new piece of furniture we’ve owned for 6 months. I’ve spent so much money with this company. I want to cry after dealing with this situation and not hearing from the company, I wish we hadn’t purchased the table and chairs…

Poor quality and even worse customer service. Stay away! I ordered a Soren cabinet in Dec of 2022. First McGee and Co no showed for the delivery appt, then delivered the wrong color cabinet, then they significantly late for the third appointment. I finally received the correct cabinet. McGee and Co never responded to requests for a discount for the hassle. Fast forward a year, and the door has now fallen off. McGee and Co won’t help me with replacement hardware. Buyer beware!

We are a builder and designer, and we have ordered a handful of items from this company. Our recent client has as well and has had even worse experience. Half of the items that arrive are fine, but then others have been "lost in shipping", arrive damaged or broken. The replacement process has been horrific to say the least. Just truly disappointed.
Update 12/12/23 after McGee response - It was not just the rug. Things are almost resolved, but the time and effort was extremely poor from all our experience with "designer suppliers". We had about 3-4 product issues with this 1 order, and are still waiting for one to be resolved. Regardless the quality for the cost is extremely disappointing and the customer service is shockingly poor for McGee.

I've been pleased with the night stand that I ordered. It was delivered within 2 weeks, as promised, and it is beautiful. However, I have yet to receive any information on the other two items ( another night stand and a dresser). I have repeatedly tried to contact customer service by email and phone, but have not heard back. The website now says the dresser is back ordered for 4 months, which wasn't stated when I ordered it. Getting an order status shouldn't be this challenging in 2023.
